The tribe of swift foxes were the only occupants of these islands. The area, however, fell short of modern standards, but it's people knew how to survive. Technology was used, but it was outdated. Documents were in forms of unique tribal marks. The left shoulder would weld one mark for a family symbol. Everything else would follow one the foxes backs. Events, on the islands, would rarely reach other countries ears. The island wasn't visited by many. A large group of ships and planes came and rounded up the foxes. The entire island was left deserted. The entire tribal community was brought to unknown facilities. White lab coated furries took one fox at a time. Heavy gun reinforcements kept these foxes from troubling the scientists from doing what every it was. The highest tribal officials were the first to be taken, for the experiments they had. A small group tried to rebel, but their effort led to nothing but their own bloodshed. This failed attempt proved to the rest of the tribe that: escape is futile. Sometime done the line it was Grain's turn. Only a forth of the tribe was felt in the as he was taken from the dark caged room by two working men. The halls were plastic with people either: talking behind them, doing research, staring at him, or performing an autopsy on one of his comrades. A large metal platform stood. An arch came above and in the center of that has something that pointed to the ground. Some piece of jewelery stood in this tip. More arch were present, making it seem like... Grain felt a strong shocking sensation and fell limp, before being able to take in more of the machine's properties. The two escorts tossed the fox in to a round metal platform. He couldn't move from the shock he took in mid-section. Disabled from movement the fox heard clicks, buttons, beeping. The jewel began to whirl, and the machine's arches began twirling around. These objects spun faster and a green light began to appear above the fox. The green light shot down to the fox, engulfing his body. He began to scream. The green light magnified his pain into a taring sensation. Felling his body trying to rip in two he struggled against giving in and began to curl. Sweat covered him in seconds and the green light grew brighter, until. Everything. Went. Black. The fox had stumbled back to consciousness. Drowsy and dizzy he didn't bother in moving. Slowly Grain opened his eyes, but the his surrounds showed nothing but darkness. The sweat on his body apparently had laid on him for sometime. Shivering the swift fox struggled to a knee. His surroundings was too dark to make anything out, plus a light fog seemed to have invaded the area. Grain took too his feet and clenched his mid-section. The pain from a shock still lingered, but had lightening up since the green light. He turned in place, but the was the same scene. "Where am I?" he whispered. Nothing is replied back. Deciding not to waste time standing in place he began walking in the void. Hours was spent wondering around. Grain passed by and through objects or maybe they were shadows which had no definite shape or form. Whether progress was being made was unknown as Grain recheck surroundings, it didn't change and the darkness hasn't lighting up. He checked the skies. No stars. Nor the presence of clouds or wind. Strange. He walked and walked and walked. With no way to tell time it felt like he'd been doing this for half a day. The swift fox was too bored to continue walking. Tired has laid back down. It didn't take long until Grain finally fell into slumber. Whistling, from birds, slowly became louder. He woke up. Light headed he opened his eyes to revealing blue skies. 'Outside?' Grain sat up. He took notice in the lack of clothing on his body and dove into the nearest bush, "Where am I, now?" A brownish tower stood tall, nearly touching the clouds above. The swift fox crawled around, trying to find its entrance. "OUT OF MY WAY, SHORTIE!" The ground trembled. The swift fox peered through the leaves of a bush, out of curiosity. A human, wearing a red hat with a large "M" labeled on it, jumped out of the way of a tall and bulky spiky shelled turtle who turned his back to a wooden door and charged. His large shell bashing down its target. It was too intimidating to fight such a beast, let alone talk to it. The turtle said something about a Koopa Troop. The silent plumber lead his companions into the tower, along with the large turtle. The fox thought to leave to group to their business with the tower. He began thinking to himself. "Something about this makes me feel... out of place." Some odd looking characters began pouring out of the tower, soon after the plumbers entrance. The fox took advantage of the chaos and took a Jester from the pack. He began asking questions on his whereabouts, sadly he didn't know where here was. Grain dragged the knocked out body to the an unknown Pass, leaving these cloud riding turtles to figure what to do with him. "Such a strange world. So many turtles," the swift fox made it back to tower, wearing the Jester's clothing. A moment later there was a HUGE shake on the land he stood on. It felt like an Earthquake, but it was too quick to be one. He kept still, ready to run if another came. But minutes would run by with nothing. The plumber dropped from the skies, landing at the entrance of the tower. He, and his friends quickly ran off with haste. Three black clothed creatures darted out the tower, in hot pursuit. Blinking the fox stepped out of his hiding place. Grain's thoughts began running, 'what the hell is going on?' The swift fox entered the tower. It was very interesting to see. It seemed like a fun house, but on much larger scale. This entire place was filled for granting entertainment. Walking past a line of portraits, something about a families blood line, began his way up a staircase before getting interrupted. "Hey!" The fox jumped and turned around to the voice. Another Jester came up to him, "time to go to your guard post, we've got people coming back for entertainment." "Um," - a short pause came and left - "can you point me to my post?" the swift fox hid his worried face behind the white mask he wore. Eventually Grain found himself as an employee: playing music with a group. During his time of entertainment he learned how to play the Saxophone. He got a small time gig in playing cards with the guests. Even receiving a number of special magick cards for extra "fun". A magikoopa or shaman, every once a week, would drop by and restore magick into these cards. In the course of one year's time Grain was growing quite bored from always entertaining. So he left the tower. However a few Snifits, special black suited Shy Guys, gave chase. Yet they were quickly stopped when the swift fox lifted one of his magical cards. The area flowed with Flower Petals. With a 'puff' the pursuing Snifits were turned to Mushrooms, biding enough time to for his escape. It wasn't long until he got to a town named "Molevile". He rented a house to himself. A half a year in being in the town was too much as most jobs were manual labor. The Jester clothing was the only clothing Grain had and had to be careful with it. The fox went back on the road and ended up in Rose Town. He liked it, for it's small town. Grain took to the forest and collected mushrooms for the town folk, who he also found strange as they too looked like mushrooms. He gave a bit of entertainment to the town folk, when one of their children had a birthday. Edited by `TakeCare, Apr 28 2009, 05:23 AM.
