I found a "shiny" Banette once, but it was the same colour as other Banettes and it glitched my Sapphire game when I caught it. It killed the internal clock, so I couldn't get Berries or enter Once-A-Day contests.

I love Milotic. In my opinion, the faster one can evolve a Pokemon, the better. Especifically if you're gonna train it. I evolved every Eevee that needed a stone in level 1 and the ones that needed happiness or to be in a certain area in level 2. Same with my Pichu and my Riolu. And I evolved Happiny into Chansey in level 2 and into Blissey on level 3. My Scizor in level 1, my Gligar in level 2. And I'm a-gonna evolve my Sneasel in level 2 once I get the item. I also evolved my Feebas in level 2.

Quiet, please, it's snack time!
|
You'd better have their movesets sorted from the get-go then, because when they're evolved, they learn their moves at different levels. Pokemon like Raichu don't even learn ANY attacks after evolving. |

I know that and I'm well aware of the move-sets and such. But I'm usually picking moves from TMs like Shadow Ball, Earthquake, Thunder, etc, etc. Raichu has Volt Tackle and I'm already gathering a few TMs for it so no big dealy. XP --------------------------------- EDIT: I have some news to share: I bought Explorers of Sky on Saturday. So far, it's been very enjoyable. It IS a PMD2 game: that is noticeable on how it contains the same plot and characters, however, there are a few changes, some you may already know but I'll write for the sake of those who don't. First of all, the 16 starters from Time and Darkness are available, and like before, you cannot choose a partner of the same type as yours. Those 16 starters are:
In addition, there are 4 new starters:
And finally, the return of 1 of the 4 starters from PMD1 that was removed for PMD2: Eevee. This makes a total of 21 starters. Furthermore, in the prior PMD2 games, only 13 of the starters were available as partners, and the Normal-types were only available as the hero (main character). However, in PMDS (yeah, that's what I'm calling Sky), all 21 Pokemon are available as partners and 19 are available as the hero (Meowth and Munchlax are NOT available for the role of the hero). The set genders for the partners appear to be the same from PMD2. Regarding the new starters, Riolu, Shinx and Phanpy are always male when selected as partner. Vulpix is female. I'm afraid I don't know about the Normal-types seeing as I came out as Eevee, but from what I understand, they are all set as males except for Skitty. ---- All the stores and facilities from Time and Darkness remain the same. Unfortunately, the same goes for the Kangaskhan Storage, which I had hoped had taken its previous system from PMD1... A difference this time, however, is that you can press Select when checking your storage to put the ammo together (for example, if you have Stick (23) and Stick (18), press Select to make it Stick (41)), but because you can do this now, they do not appear organized like before, so you may want to press Select when checking your storage just to put everything in order. A new place was added in Treasure Town. Near the road intersection for the Guild, Beach, the Town's heart and the entrance to the Dugeons, is now a small stairway. Through here, you reach Spinda's Cafe. In it, you will find the Juice Bar -manned by Spinda- and the Recycle Shop led by Wynaut and Wobuffet. Unlike the one from PMD1, this Wobbufet can say more than just her name, but the moest she bothers saying is "All right!" Wynaut also has the custom of saying "why not!" at the end of most of its sentences. At Spinda's Cafe hang out some of the usual Explorer teams as well as new individulas such as Heracross, Zigzagoon, Pachirisu and Octillery. Mr. Mime starts hanging out here early in the game. Now, what are their purposes? At the Juice Bar, Spinda will make a drink from any edible item you bring it and then give the drink to a Pokemon in your team. You can choose for which Pokemon the drink will be and you can choose which item to use for the drink- just make sure you have the item you want liquified in your Treasure Bag and the Pokemon the drink is for is currently in your team. Some drinks will not have any effect on Pokemon while others will. The Recycle Shop is exactly what the name implies. Here, you can trade items from your storage for a completely new item. In certain occasions, Wynaut may notify you of a new unexplored Dungeon after a certain point in the story. More than just that, your teammamtes will no longer await for you at the intersection's sidelines for when you enter the Dungeon; they will be waiting for you inside Spinda's Cafe. ---- The dialogue has been slightly modified in a way that a few unneeded details have been removed from a few random scenes and others have been added, though such change is so small and insignificant one may not notice right away. ---- Like many of use expected, it appears the most common of version-exclusive Pokemon are available here, like Burmy and Buneary. ---- Items you and your partner wear inside dungeons stay on even after you've exited them. ---- You can now see which IQ skill the Pokemon will acquire next when you access Chimecho's Assembly. ---- Like in Time and Darkness, you can either taken on Missions from the Bulletin Board or the Outlaw and Notice board, and you can only take up to 8 jobs with you. However, there are two new ways of obtaining more of these jobs:
You can deny these jobs and then come back to the client or bottle later on during the same day to take them, but they will be gone by the next day. ---- Around chapter 8 more or less, you can now find the Secret Bazaar inside Dungeons. How does this appear? Simple. While walking around the Dungeon, you may step on a spot that suddenly goes poof. If there is a staircase below, do not worry. This is the entrance to the Secret Bazaar. The Bazaar's entrance will be marked in the Dungeon Map the same way as the staircase for the next floor, except that the symbol will be a reddish orange instead of light blue. What's inside? Inside the Bazaar you will find 5 Pokemon, each with a certain job:
The Bazaar is part of the Dungeon, so as long as you remain within that one floor you're currently in, you can go in and out as many times as you want. Wild Pokemon do not appear inside the Bazaar, however. ---- When you faint in a dungeon, you only lose half your money. Not all of it. ---- Shaymin and Giratina's Origin Form are available in PMDS. Arceus does not appear in the flesh, but a staue of it can be found in a certain Dungeon. (I haven't gotten to this part yet.) ---- This is probably the main reason I wanted this game: Special Episodes. Every now and then, for completing certain chapters, a Special Episode will be added to your Special Episode list. These episodes tell anecdotes of some plot characters. The episode may take place in the Past or in the Future and there is a total of 5 episodes. For each episode, there is one or two new songs even. When playing an episode, you play it as the character the story is about. The episode is short, but has it's bit of heartwarming scenes like the main plot does. The level of the character you will be using is already set and is in no way related to your main charcater's level. However, the items this character has in storage and the money it keeps in the bank is the same as that of your main character and what you waste in this special episode is wasted with your main save file. The same goes for what you acquire. To play Special Episode, all you need to do is access the Top Menu and select "Special Episode." Episodes you have completed will have a small star beside the episode's title and those that are new will have an exclamation mark. You can replay the episodes as many times as you want, but after each time you complete them, the Pokemon's level will re-set for when you replay the episode. [Note: I will not say what the episode is about in order to avoid spoilers.] The first Special Episode is titled "Bidoof's Wish" and in it, you will playing as Bidoof. This episode takes place in the Past so your characters will not appear in the gameplay (though they do a brief cameo before oficially starting the episode and after technically ending it). Pokemon appearing as part of this episode's plot are:
The second Special Episode is titled "Igglybuff the Prodigy," and it stars Wigglytuff back in his childhood. The Pokemon appearing as part of this episode's plot are:
I have a decent idea on what the other 3 episodes are about but won't divulge any info on them until I've played them. ![]() ---- Jirachi has his own Dungeon in PMDS: Star Cave. ---- Few new Dungeons appear. ---- Each Pokemon has its own Unique item that is swappable at Croagunk's Swap Cauldron. ---- PMDS has a set of "Demo Dungeons" that players without any PMD2 games can download for a short play. ---- In some dungeons, you may find an item called "Sky Gift." This item is useless when you find it, but if you send it to another PMD2 game hrough trading or on mail, the Sky Gift turns into a supposedly rare item. (I only read this on the Instrunctions Book.) ---- You may find "Lookalike items" inside dungeons. These items look like other common items and have a fairly similar name but not the same effect. Some of them will act as anti-item and make the opposite of the item they look like. For example, an Oran Berry heals; an Oren Berry deals damage. Others will do something completely different from what the item they imitate does. For example, the consumer of a Sleep Seed will fall asleep, whereas the consumer of a Slip Seed will obtain the ability to walk on water. Trying to press Select to organize these lookalike items so that you don't mistake them for the real deal is not possible. You will notice that they will get mixed up with the actual items anyway. Some of the lookalikes I've found are:
The instructions book also seems to mention a Reviver Seed-Reviser Seed example. ---- You can save your game at your bed or in the Water Hole near the Interception. ---- When saving, you are given the options:
---- There are 5 different styles of window frames. |

Shameless double post, I know. But I had some more stuff from PMDS to share and no one is posting. XP I forgot to mention the entrance to WHAT exactly. ( )I meant the entrance to Spind Café. ---- Next, I've been checking out the Café a bit more and have more info. First of all, instead of having to go into dungeons to feed your Pokemon Gummis or vitamins, you ca simply ask Spinda to make a drink with one of those items and tell it for which Pokemon it is. Any and all effects the Gummi or Vitamin was to have inside the dungeon, the drink will have it as well. Furthermore, you can make drink with anything edible and it will NOT harm your Pokemon in any way. Not even if it's a Grimy Food drink. I should know: I tried it. Moreso, your Pokemojn will always love whatever drink it is given. I also recall haven't said some items have no effects when turned into beverages, but that's not entirely true. From time to time, Spinda may make "a miracle drink!" (as it called it) or something special with an item that often makes a drink that does nothing. If this happens, then a special effect will occur, such as Max. HP or IQ being raised. Another thing is that you can use Lookalike items to make drinks free of worry. They have no negative effect on the Pokemon either. Something else is the fact that you may get new recruits by making drinks. It may sound unbelievable but is true. I gave my Riolu a Heal Seed drink in hopes of a special effect, but nothing changed in its status or IQ. Just as I was going to say, "Aw, nothing happened..." a Cherubi popped by, complimented Riolu for being such a "dedicated connosieur" and offered to join my team. I then talked to the Pachirisu that often hangs out by the Juice ar and it told me that while drinking, a stranger approached it and gave it an Egg. Which means that making drinks may lead to possible team recruits sometimes. As for the Recycle Shop, there is something called a "Prize Ticket" I forgot to mention. While recycling, you may obtain a Prize Ticket. You can trade it to Wynaut for a prize, but you never know what'll you get. The process is simple- draw the ticket and you will be asked for a primary color. Depending on which you choose, you will obtain a prize. The color with the win is always randomized so it's always a new color and, as far as my experimenting has gone, there doesn't seem to be a cycle. Anyway, once you've chosen a color, Wobuffet will tell Eynaut about your prize. First, Wynaut will ask her if it is a win or not. If Wobuffet shakes her head, then it's on to the next question. If she answers with, "That's right!" then you get a meager prize. If Wobuffet denied the first question, Wynaut will ask again if it's a win or not. If Wobuffet sakes her head, it's on to the next question. However, if she says, "That's right!" then you get a slightlier better prize than the one you would have gotten if she had confirmed the first question. However, if Wobuffet has denied the first two questions, Wynaut will ask her if it's a big win. If Wobuffet sweats (anime sweatdrop appears), then it's on to the final question. If she declares a big win with her "That's right!" then the center of the Café's back wall blows up and a Ludicolo bursts out with four Bellossom. The five will dance and then a huge light will swallow the Café. After the light, everything goes back to normal and Wynaut and Wobuffet will throw confetti and award you with a "big prize" which may not be as special as one often hopes. But if Wobbufet denied that "big win" question, then you're in for a bit of disappointment, since then Wynaut will ask her if it's a loss and Wobuffet will confirm it. If so, Wynaut gives you a lousy consolation prize, usually an Oran Berry. ---- I was a bit mistaken here. Once you enter the Secret Bazaar inside a floor, the only exit is a stair case leading to the next floor. It IS, however, still a very useful place to find. |
