Christmas is back again

I would mention Halo, but it was already there. I've never been that much into the series. Sure it have both good and bad sides. But I never came that far.

Sims, well I have the second. It was alright for starters, but it's so damn life consuming. And I don't think it's worth all the talk.

Not much I can think about for the moment. I usually am for the underrated games. XD

Halo Wars. I always have been a Halo fan but God, I found Halo Wars incredibly overrated. There's nothing really big that sets it apart from other console strategy games and I think it only got good reviews because the game has Halo in its title.

Final Fantasy VII. I'll probably get slaughtered by FF fans but I didn't think Final Fantasy VII was that great to be honest.

Fallout 3 is also a bit overrated.

And GH: World Tour. See the GH topic for why I think it's overrated.

And this is all I could think of at the moment.

Anyways, I thought Left 4 Dead was overrated. With talks about how the engine changed the gameplay each and every time, I was expecting these changes to be at the extent that there was a huge number of various enemies, that they had the AI to attack in different ways, and that level progression could be made with alternate routes. What I played was a game with four identical campaigns in dull environments littered with six or seven types of enemies who all have easy-to-decipher attack patterns. All the enemies do is spawn differently. Boring.

This might be a result of me not researching the game properly and expecting something totally different/impossible than what was promised as it seems that the majority of people who've played it have the opposite opinion. Regardless, my expectations were as they were and the game didn't live up to them.

The only way I can actually stand playing L4D for more than half a campaign is by putting it on its hardest mode and playing with my brother. It's almost impossible to beat for us, and that's where the hilarity, insanity, and backstabbing come in. Admittedly, I haven't had a co-op with my bro like that in years. xP

PS: How the hell is Sonic Next Gen overrated if it bombed critically and financially and only three people like it?

Super Mario Sunshine I think that was pretty overrated. It wasn't a bad game but not better than Mario 64.

I think it was underrated. No one seemed to like it more than other Mario games.

Another one of these threads ? And guys one more thing, instead of posting once sentence with *insert game here* is overrated, how about you develop, why you think it's overrated. Plus just list all the games you think are underrated instead of posting 50 times with single games.

Seriously, stop making a n00b land out of every thread.

Grand Theft Auto. I loved the series back on PS1(started playing it on GTA2) and it was awesome when it made the jump to PS2 but after Vice City it was painfully clear they were going to do the same thing over and over in a different wrapper. When San Andreas came out I was done being a fan of the series.

I was hoping GTA4 would change it up and be a jump in a different direction, but I really think they just messed it up too much. Realism is fun I liked games like Driver, but in GTA they just didn't execute it as well and it didn't feel like a big change from the previous ones either. I got bored of it after one day of renting it.

[insert something cheerful here]

When I was a little girl, I didn't care about game plots because all the videogames available were in English and I didn't know English. One of my fave PS1 games were the Mortal Kobat-realted ones.

But as I grew older, payed more attention at school, got more into books and began watching Satellite with the Captions Closed, I learned more English and understood it better. When I realized that most of the videogames I had been playing when little had 'stories', I felt curious and decided to put more attention to them as I played along.

Afterwards, it was a lot more enjoyable and I started judging games for plot an not just gameplay. THEN, about 8-10 years after beginning to comprehend this and about 12 years since I last played MK, my mom bought a PS2 Mortal Kombat game and I thought, "Cool. Let's see what good times awaits us."

My siblings popped in the disk and I was greatly disspaointed. That said, I believe one of the most overrated games is Mortal Kombat. I've heard a lot of people who enjoyed it but the plot is so unorthodox. Just do favors, favors, favors to everyone who thinks you're 'almighty'. And my brother completed the main storyline in less than a few hours. Plus it was so rushed. Not to mention that the gore and blood excess are simply disgusting. Heck, even the ghosts bled and I still can't understand how that is possible.

I just stared at it as my siblings kept playing it. Some of the surprises you can buy on the game are pictures of the makers and creators, which really isn't all that special.

I think Ratchet and Clank is kind of overrated...I mean, they're good games, and I still like them, but they all seem to follow the same pattern...There's always a big blaster-type weapon, then there's always a weapon that turns you enemies into some kind of animal...The new features they add to each game are pretty cool, and the humor is pretty hilarious, but in every game it's just the same type of platforming and action as you gain and use all of the weapons as you play!

It really depended on what you wanted that game to be.

Anyway a game I find over rated is Lost Winds for Wii ware. It wasn't as good as people said.

Yes. I'm assuming the PC version has things like more campaigns and differents paths through those campaigns?

I wanted much more than the enemy placement to be dynamic and didn't get that. Again, only the Tank-spawning Hard mode is any fun for me. xP

Not exactly. 2 words, or 4 if you consider the second one is an acronym: Source SDK. 5 times the numbers of your average map on the 360. When it will be out... well, I can just say the place will fill up with much more people on Steam.
And 360 version will be there, forgotten.

Oh yeah:

Survival mode.
Versus mode.
Voices change.
Location changes.
Horde attacks change.
Do I need to say more?
