Overview Developer: Sucker Punch Productions Genre: Action/Adventure; Sandbox Platform: PlayStation 3 Players: 1 Online Components?: N/A Release Date: May 26, 2009 (U.S) Media Size: 1 Blu-Ray Box Art: http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3342/3333869162_e2ee74fca3.jpg?v=0 Demo: May 21, 2009 "This is a new IP and we wanted to show people how to grow a superhero." - Brian Fleming, PSU Interview Infamous is a game being developed by Sucker Punch, the company that brought gamers Rocket: Robot on Wheels, and the memorable Sly Cooper franchise. It’s been under production for over 20 months, and will be offering the gaming community a compelling experience. ____________________________________________________________________ New Gameplay Trailer Newest Gameplay Montage ____________________________________________________________________ inFAMOUS goes gold! 3+ years, 60+ people, insane amounts of caffeinated beverages, and 70,000+ individual checkins of code, art, and media, and what do you get? A gold disc for inFAMOUS! We got the news late yesterday (just in time for the team to run off and tip a few back!) and I’m not sure it’s really sank in for me yet. But it’s official, and somewhere I hope they’re stamping out your copy of inFAMOUS right as you read this! It’s a tradition here to bust out old builds and videos of the game and laugh at ourselves for how *crappy* the game was 2 years ago. It’s a strange combination of humiliation at how we ever showed those builds to people, appreciation to Sony for believing in us even when the game was so provably terrible, and sense of accomplishment at how far we were able to come, especially in the last 6-12 months. Plus it’s just plain hilarious to see some of our really BAD ideas on-screen. But that’s the journey of making video games. We’re proud of what we accomplished getting to here, but the point of it all was to make something for you guys to enjoy — and we’re hopeful that you will drop us a note and let us know what you think after you’ve beaten the game! Enjoy the ride and thanks so much for all your support! http://blog.us.playstation.com/2009/04/16/infamous-goes-gold/ ____________________________________________________________________ inFAMOUS not releasing in June after all! Many of you may be wondering when we plan to announce the release date for inFamous. Well today, we have a little surprise for you….the release month is no longer June. Now wait, I know what you’re thinking…inFamous is NOT delayed, in fact, the guys up at Sucker Punch have been working so hard that the game will be releasing in the U.S. on May 26! Now with just a little over a month until the game hits shelves, inFamous pre-order goodness begins today. Those who pre-order the game at participating retailers will have a chance to get one of the following: -An exclusive ‘Gigawatt Blades’ Super Power: The Gigawatt Blades supercharges Cole’s arm into an instrument of destruction unmatched by any other melee weapon in game. Although very powerful, you’ll still have to use this weapon wisely, as it takes a considerable drain on your powers. ____________________________________________________________________ New Terrorized Streets Trailer Looks great and it's awesome how you can grind on power lines! ____________________________________________________________________ New Gamepro Sucker Punch Interview Best part of the interview: Around 20 hours completion time not counting the side missions. This game is going to be great and long lasting considering you have 20 hours for the main game, 100+ side missions, and the ability to go back and be good or evil. ____________________________________________________________________ New Video/Karma Info Karma Momements Video Power Ups Trailer Article about the Karma. Good read if you want more info about this game. ____________________________________________________________________ New Trailer New Trailer shown on the PS Blog that shows new abilities. Nothing too exciting, but does make me want this game even more. If you look closely at the piece, you’ll see Cole deployed his Polarity Wall shield, something not shown before… He may only have one superpower, but he can do LOTS of things with that power. http://blog.us.playstation.com/2009/03/12/watch-the-new-infamous-trailer-now/ ____________________________________________________________________ Date, Demo, Box Art I have to say, this box art is pretty freaking sweet! Just cool the way Cole looks. June is the release date. Further off than I expected, but still good. I'm really looking forward to this, the info we have about the game is really good, and Sucker Punch is awesome.

Wow, it's this June. They are lots of other interesting titles coming out this June actually. inFamous will probably win though, mostly because-well, it's developed by Sucker Punch who never pretty much had a bad game. Anyway, cool box art. I really want to try out this game. |

What exactly is coming out June? Aside from Prototype, I am not aware of any interesting June releases. I think I'll make this my next game. I'm going to have to save up and I'll probably have the cash by June. lol |

ITS MADE BY SONY. THEY WILL NOT RELEASE A 360 VERSION. IT'S A PS3 EXCLUSIVE. Besides, if they did that, wouldn't Killzone 2 release for 360?

It's not made by Sony, it's made by Sucker Punch, but Sucker Punch is a second party developer for Sony. Meaning that they aren't owned by them, but all of their games are published and owned by Sony. Sucker Punch, Media Molecule, and Insomniac are their most known second party companies. |

Nope, it is not. Not that it really matters though. All I know is the game looks awesome. It's almost like a shooter, but you can do so much more than a shooter with your powers. I read somewhere that he can shoot electricity that is long range like a sniper rifle. Plus the shield, levitation, and smashing into the ground with an explosion. I wonder how the free roam is going to work though. It's free roam like GTA, you can go anywhere whenever you want. It'll be interesting to see how much fun it will be to randomly just cause chaos or stop chaos from happening. The story seems like it's going to be deep. On a personal note, I'm glad these devs(Insomniac, Naughty Dog, Sucker Punch) are focusing on new franchises. These new franchises they've created are top notch and fresh! It comes out in June. They have not nailed down a specific date, but that is the month they have targeted. I really want it too. I've only played one superhero game(Marvel Ultimate Alliance) and it wasn't very good so this should be a nice change from shooting games/lame superhero games that have no effort put into them just to cash in on a movie or something. Updated with new info yet again. Lots of stuff revealed at GDC. New Terrorized Streets Trailer Looks great and it's awesome how you can grind on power lines! New Gamepro Sucker Punch Interview Best part of the interview: Around 20 hours completion time not counting the side missions. Also here is the introduction cutscene for the game. If you don't want spoilers, don't watch. The Start of it all. Edited by Neo Metallix, Apr 18 2009, 04:16 PM.
