... Are you serious? Drunk with Tea? I always knew the US tea wasn't top notch standard but wow. But here are some Venny tips which are actually going to work: 1.Cut back on sugar, if you eat too much of sugar you'll find yourself with too much energy near the sleep. 2.Get tired during the day, sometimes if you do not perform any physical activities during the day your energy isn't consumed therefore you do not need to sleep when you have to. 3.Listen to Venny. 4. Warm milk is known for it's ability to knock out anyone to sleep. 5.Also finnaly if you can't sleep after all of these tips, you have 2 options. a)Get some sleeping pills b)Stay up to ungodly hours until you get tired and go to sleep. |

Hah! Nice one, Venny. I once got intoxicated from eating crackers. It's just my thing, you know? Still, this is a legitimate problem. I myself have trouble getting to sleep at night, and milk and tea are really never available to me. I just stay up on the computer until around eleven at night, and by then I'm about ready to fall asleep. If that doesn't work, just bang your head really hard on the wall. |

Remember, in the night there are 3 initial phases. When you're wide awake. When you're starting to feel sleepy. If you avoid sleeping when you're starting to feel sleepy, you enter the third phase: your body understands it isn't time to sleep and stays awake. So just avoid getting to the 3rd phase. |

Nightquil!!... Ya know, the blueish liquid stuff... It works, though when you take it, make sure your going right to bed. Staying awake(fighting it) will eventually cause you to pass out. First, you'll yawn a lot, then you'll feel light head, soon, you'll WANT to lay down...and then... your out for the count... for a very VERY long time... Depending when you took it that is... So yea, Nightquil!!...

^ aye, I sense poor times for my body if I'd try Nightquils. It does work, but I've only surpassed it once (such a horrible day for my eyes..)
I've never heard of tea put people to sleep. I agree with L, Nightquil is best. But God knows what it could do to your body when taken over an extensive period of time. |

My sleeping habits were all over the place during college. It caused some real problems when college ended and I got a real job. I almost got fired over dozing off at work. But I’ve mostly got it under control nowadays. These are the things I do. 1)After 3pm, no caffeine. It stays in your body for eight hours after you get it in your system. 2)Three hours before bed time, avoid eating. Otherwise, your body will have to digest food while you try to sleep, and it can interfere with your sleep. 3)90 minutes before bed time, only drink enough so you aren’t thirsty. But don’t drink too much. It’s a balancing act. Drink too little and you’ll wake up thirsty. Drink too much and you’ll wake up needing to go to the bathroom. 4)One hour before bedtime, avoid anything with a screen like a computer or a TV. The light of the screen will make your body think it should be awake. 5)One hour to thirty minutes before bedtime, establish a soothing routine to go through. It signals your body that you’re about to go to bed, so it’ll start getting tired. 6)More on lights...turn off ceiling lights and use lamps towards bed time. The darker house will get you more in the mood for dozing off. 7)Do everything you can to make your bedroom as dark as possible. Black out windows, cover up bright alarm clocks with towels, tape over bright lights on things like electronics. Even a small pinprick of light can interfere with your sleep. 8)Keep your bedroom slightly cool while sleeping. I hear it’s because our bodies cool down as we sleep, thus our body temperature better matches the environment around us. 9)During the winter…this is what I like to do. Turn the thermostat way down (I usually go for 63 F) and cover yourself up with lots of blankets. The blankets will be very comfy and the weight of them will make you feel more tired. And on top of that it saves energy. 10)Use your bedroom for sleeping only, if you can. Your body will start to associate your bedroom with sleeping…thus you’ll start feeling tired just walking in there. 11)Try to go to sleep and wake up at the same time every day of the week, even on weekends. If you go to bed late and wake up late on the weekend, you’ll mess up your body’s sleeping rhythm. When you go back to your regular routine on Sunday night, you’ll have a hard time sleeping and then you’ll be groggy and tired on Monday. 12)Don’t rely on sleeping pills too much.
