RJ Fox Posts: 3,267 Group: Former Monarchs Member #14 Joined: April 13, 2006	I don't know if anyone's aware, but a new series of Full Metal Alchemist started last Sunday. Anyone watching it, or fans of the old series or manga? Funimation are subbing the episodes and the first episode should be up on their site in less than an hour to view. Or alternatively you might find a site with it already subbed. This plot of the new series is based more on the manga and has an art style more like the manga.

This is a new version which is more manga-based and will go through some of the events covered in the first half of the old series much quicker. Apparently, anyway.

Call me a language junkie, but I think I'll wait to what this until they re-dub in English. I never really read the manga, but I've watched and re-watched the whole anime series about three times. I'm not sure, from the little I've read, I'm not sure which I prefer of the two. There are aspects of both that I like, but, as I don't plan on spending hundreds of dollars searching for all the manga on eBay, I guess this new series will be a good way of learning more about the series which I care not enough to spend hours on the internet searching for.

RJ Fox Posts: 3,267 Group: Former Monarchs Member #14 Joined: April 13, 2006	^You know, you can read the series on www.onemanga.com I've just finished reading up to the latest chapter, took less than a week. I'm not sure whether I'm fond of this new series yet. Riza's Japanese voice sounds a bit too young and girly for her character imo. The events in these first two episodes of the series seem a bit rushed, but it's probably because most people watching the new series have either read the manga or seen the old series and know what's going to happen. It seems that it will be good though, so I'm going to continue watching, especailly being the FMA nut I am.
