Flying Battery Act 2

There's one thing that confused me...is Fast and Furious supposed to be set around the same time period as The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift? Spoiler: click to toggle I will say the movie did start out really great with the tanker chase. To be honest though, that's the only car chase I both remember and liked in this movie. The street race where the gang is hiring new drivers felt kinda ruined by the stupid GPS. I mean, these movies feel too much like videogames already, but the GPS cemented it by making it almost exactly like Midnight Club: Los Angeles. Spoiler: click to toggle but the CGI is too obvious in these sequences. For a car chase to be good, it has to give you a real sense of danger. Like any small mistake could kill the heroes instantly. Then you're really on the edge of your seat and thrilled. Obvious CGI totally removes the danger element and now you're essentially just watching someone play a video game. Granted though, I bet this sequence would have been very difficult if not impossible to film in real life. But they could have gotten around that just by extending the final chase out in the desert and giving the CGI-ed part of the chase less screen time. Honestly, that's what I wished they did. It was way cooler anyway. Edited by Nail Strafer, Apr 6 2009, 05:54 AM.

You know what. This movie while on theatre was stopped by the police because of the reckless car moves. I don't know what the law over here think, but sure it ain't that clever rushing in and making a movie end because they think every living soul would get out there and attempt doing something equal that was done from the actual film. Shame on the law over here. So, I haven't seen it, except a trailer. Looked decent, but nothing I would run to the cinema for. |
