The latter eventually became Sonic's nemesis, Eggman, Aka Dr.Robotnik.' Also from the same book. 'In order to really enjoy Sonic, 2D is truly the way to do it' Yuji Naka, Sonic co-creator.

Mighty was never SEGA's mascot. Plus, he didn't really have the attitude Sonic has, so I'd go with no, he wouldn't be as liked. Plus, the whole thing with the Sonic franchise has been about a mix of speed and platforming. I don't know if Mighty would have been given speed or not, but if not the games would just look like a Mario ripoff.

But if Sonic was scrapped and Mighty was the mascot, I would think a lot of fighting games would be out.

If mighty took sonic's place as the fastest thing alive, would the fan base be the same? or would we feel the same?
