They stared at him. Suddenly Jacques broke out into laughter. "Boy," He said, "You are either the bravest soul I have yet to meet, or the biggest fool this side of the Multiverse for talking to me in such a way." He handed the stolen objects to Taint. "Be a good General and carry these back to the ship." He nodded and walked off, sparing Adrian a single glare that said, 'Mess with him and you're dead'. "As for this 'Halloween Costume', the Pumpkin is a long and complicated story that dates back a couple hundred years, and I haven't the time to tell a story of such length. But my attire is that of my stature; Machine Overlord of an entire Planet." He held up his mechanical hand and flexed his knifelike fingers. "See? Robotics. Or do you Primitives not know what that is?" He paused. "And finally, we are NOT deadly assassins." He laughed. "Only my associate is." His face turned serious, and he pressed the blade of his scythe to Adrian's throat. "So in conclusion," He said, "Stay out of my way, and the next time you think of insulting me; don't. Thats how you stay alive around us. But even then, there's no guarantee you won't end up dead." |

Kat didn't bother trying to stop him, though she was worried something may happen, they did already kill 2 people just so they could get what they want, but Kat stood still. When Jacques put the scythe to Adrians throught, her ears went down, should she get Adrian or would staying their keep him alive. if Jacques was going to kill him he'd most likely be dead by now. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Lucario heard Jason call him lazy, he's eyes kept shut, he turned he's head towards him" I am not sitting here doing nothing. As a matter of fact, I am watching all movement on the docks. A fox and a human are talking, A wolf, I think Kats partner, just got in a fight with another contestent, and the contestent the wolf got a fight with killed the shopkeeper" He slowly opened his eyes and looked at him" Still lazy?" |

It wasn't often he felt such antiquity so close, and with a swift movement, he would be dead already. Of course his fur become all wet, he was nervous like hell. Frozen in terror he waited for a chance to breathe normally, without having his heartbeat pound like hundreds with horses trampling at the exact time. It was horrible. Finally he made to raise his voice, in a last effort of bravery. "Keep it, I don't need those tools anyway." Before backing slowly away from the deadly scythe, wielded by the machinery, what humans called robots, but these were more advanced and most likely coming from a different planet. At least the stakes had become even high for the racers, now involving with deadly robots, it's most likely to become a brutal fight to claim what's waiting for them, when they'll return. Hopefully alive even with or without the classified object. --- Jason wasn't sure what Lucario were blabbering about, but it was of no concern to him. "Fine, more obstacles, we'll likely have an ever greater advantage ahead of our rivals." That's when the boat started to move faster. With no concern about low water, he knew there was no point waiting for the other competitors. "Well make sure to tell us, if anyone comes closer then, if your so good at reading stuff in your blindfold." Jason sent a devious smile before looking out towards the open waters. |

"Several miles of deep open waters and aquatic wildlife of all kinds," Huntress answered as her eyes flashed an emerald green. "Exactly," Shion replied, "Wild untamed aquatic life. Though not for long." "You have GOT to be kidding me," Huntress retaliated. "Nope. We're going in and getting ourselves a little 'pet'," she said, "While being careful to not hurt its ecosystem, of course." The fox sighed and softly shook her head. |

[ DF i'm gonna skip Kat for this reply] Lucario stood up and watched the water rush past them, almost as if it was running away from them. He looked back at where the docks used to be, witch is now just a black shadow on the horizon" We have a pretty big adventage, we should be pretty safe for maybe a half hour to an hour, mattering how fast of a boat the others managed to receive" Lucario told Jason" And i am not reading things, what Is blue, and from looking at the diffrent shades of blue I can tell what is what and who is who" Lucario explained. |

"Wise move." Smirked the pumpkin headed machine. He turned towards his ship. "TAINT!" He snapped. "Yes sir?" He asked. "Ready the sails. We're shipping out." With that he strode onto 'his' ship, as they prepared to depart. |

He wouldn't dare turning his back, and found him self stabbed from behind. He shifted tactics in that instance, he knew there had to be another available pier south from their current location, and if hurrying down there, it's still a possible chance, they won't loose that much time. "Hurry Kat, we're heading south. If I know that much about this land, we'll have another dockside not far from here." With a forward leap ahead, he accelerated on all four, hoping the female cat would be able to follow. After all, he wasn't super fast. --- "Eh! Just do whatever you can to make me updated, about our rivals." Jason lost track when Lucario started blabbering about blue, and seeing. Half an hour though wasn't enough. If those who follows are able to kill, then there will be much more difficult to achieve victory, no doubt. Focusing on the trails ahead, even if it looked all the same, farther away they came, from land. What possible could be a fine mourning, could become a reckless storm. At least, it's classified as one of the most dangerous seas to cross, and with such a small boat, he feared it could become a difficult road ahead. Yet, it was only in his mind for the moment. |

And before Kat could think, Adrian was telling her to fallow and was running away, she started runing after him" Hey! Wait up!" She went down on all fours, making her run faster" I'm not a dog!" ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Lucario decided to check what was going on at the docks, he closed his eyes and focused. He opened he's eyes slightly, was Kat giving up, or did they have a diffrent plan to get over? He looked at Jason" Kat and Adrian are runing away from the docks, down south I beleive. And it looks like the two robots are about to leave docks" Lucario stated. He looked up at the clouds, they where getting darker, plus then wind picked up since they left. And storm plus middle of sea equals a bad night. |

Yet, to hire some boat around there, wouldn't work without some persuasion. One available vessel were almost readied to leave. Adrian looked back, before hurrying forwards. "Come on, there is our chance." And it wasn't long before he come across the attendant in charge. The black wolf and cat's entrance was denied at first, with his hand held forwards. "This isn't made for carrying passengers. Prepare to leave men, we're heading out. While I advice the both of you, to find a different transport." Before he turned his back, Adrian back on his hind feet, "excuse me, but what if I tell about the benefits taking us with you?" At first, he didn't seem to care, even though, "What's that?" --- Hmm... The storm was a fact, even if it could be some clouds coming from the ocean, about to loosen it's strength. However when the wind started to increase, he knew very well it would be a journey, that could mean immediate death, if not accessible to handle the currents thrown at them. "It seems out current concern is coming through the upcoming storm ahead of us." What was he thinking, this little boat, wouldn't last, even if it's fast. "You'd better prepare your self." Jason suggested, even if he had no idea what could possible add em a better chance. |

Taint replied, after a quick check. "Good. I have a mission for you." Jacques whispered something to Taint, and handed the assassin something. Quickly he took it and ran off, in the direction of the ship Adrian and Kat were about to hire. He arrived unnoticed, and stuck something to the boat. It was small, black, and mostly unnoticable. Quitely the assassin returned to his ship. //Now then, if this is an 'anything goes' race, I know EXACTLY what this device is. If it ISN'T anything goes, I have a backup plan for what it is.\\ |

(( i'm gonna take a guess on the black thing, anything goes: bomb not anything goes: tracker )) Kat didn't even really understand what this benefit was, we're in a race, their really are no benefits from what she could think of. Kat staied quiet though. She saw a black thing in the corner of her eye, she turned her head and saw nothing. She looked around to see nothing out of the ordinery, she looked at the ground, was she losing it? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Lucario watched the clouds, for sure they where coming are way. He closed his eyes and looked at the docks again" none of them have still left the docks" he watched the waves, they got bigger and bigger by the minute, Lucario was getting a little uneasy. (( sorry for short second post, supper got here just when I started it and my parents are all like having a cow)) |

(AW SON OF A-) A loud cry of fear rang out, followed by a familiar, french-accented voice. "We seem to have a stowaway, Taint!" Laughed Jacques. "What shall we do with him? Use him as sharkbait? Tie him to an anchor and throw him in the sea? Gut him and use his organs as bait for fishing? Perhaps mount his head above the fireplace?" "NO, PLEASE!" Sobbed the man they had captured. "I'm engaged! I wanted to win the race to buy my fiance a wedding ring!" "Aw, if that ain't the sweetest thing." Said Jacques. "It's a cryin' shame that you were stupid enough to come aboard MY ship." With one swift movement, he beheaded the hapless man, then tossed the body overboard, in clear view of the other competitors. "Then again, she probably didn't deserve a man that stupid." He laughed. "Alright Taint, lift the anchor. We'll be setting off momentarily." (I just had to show off. )

(Ha-ha! Love4shadow caught on to ya, Dev! ) Shion and Huntress surfaced on the water to catch their breath. As they did so, some sort of creature seemed to be carrying them. Some sort of mythical beast; a bit like the Loch Ness Monster except smaller and more beautiful, as well as graceful. It had a snake-like body and four antennae on its head. "How on Mobius you knew this was here is still beyond me..." Huntress said. "I'll tell you later," Shion replied with a confident smile, "First, the race." "He's not fast enough to win and we could endanger him if we show up on him. Do you know how many hunters there could be?" Huntress said. "He's not our transportation, but a temporary helper. There's a small sunken boat at the bottom and this beauty can take us to it," she said, "And I assume you know a thing or two about this sort of stuff." "Only the basics..." Huntress commented as she stared at the water. "That's good enough. Down boy," the human said to the creature. It screeched loudly and dove right into the deep blue. Both girls hanged on to it as it swam deeper and deeper until it reached the end. As Shion had said, there was a small vessel there. Not too old either. Probably sunk a few days ago. The creature wrapped its long body around it and slowly pulled it upwards. Before long, Huntress found herself working on the boat as Shion petted the creature. "You know, he's a lot more lovable than I figured," the human aid endearingly. "We're not taking him as a pet," Huntress said as she came out. "I know, I know. For his own sake," she said. "Here," the fox handed her partner some tools, "See if you can do anything more since I've done everything I could." "Fine," Shion took the tools and headed to the vessel. "Thank you for your help," Huntress said to the creature and rubbed its chin, "You can go now." The creature dove right into the water and vanished. "Awww," Shion complained from the inside of the vessel, "We could have at least spent a little more time with him, you know..." "If we did that, you'd never let him go," Huntress retaliated. The human pouted at her accurate friend and managed to make the boat work. "Yes! Let's get going!" she said and started it. It blasted into the sea with Huntress chasing after it. With one swift leap, she got into it and looked as they made time. |

Adrian's concentration lied on the chief of this vessel, but he sure noticed the odd manoeuvre and curiosity from his team mate. "Excuse me," referring to the captain, before looking towards Kat. "Hey, what's wrong, seeing anything?" While the sailor didn't have time to wait. "Don't make me wait for some dull conversations citizen, we're leaving and there is no benefit taking anyone of you along." "B...But wait... Aw damn it." Adrian cursed when the boat left the shores without em. Yet he couldn't blame her, it was his own fault turning the situation in a different course. And what other alternatives was there left, ahead he could see some of his rivals heading off, distancing em. Yet could he be fortunate, as the clouds ahead could mean bad weather ahead. Could that leave em with enough time to find another solution. "Any ideas Kat?" As she were his last resort on finding some sort of transport. --- "That's my least concern." When one of the waves hit em, and almost sent him tumbling backwards. Fortunate for his sake, both hands clutched hard onto the wheel. "Damn it, we can't move straight forwards." Unaware if Lucarion was still on-board or not, wasn't of his knowledge. All he concentrated on were to avoid another one of those waves. Yet, finally when he seemed to handle it. "You still there Luc?" Breathing heavily, as this become a tougher then he'd first anticipated. With a small believe could the others also encounter some troubles ahead. |

Taint noticed the boat he had stuck the device to was leaving...WITHOUT the other two competitors. He frowned(he can do that, despite lack of a mouth. At least, lack of a VISIBLE one.).Shrugging, he pulled out a small remote control and pressed a button on it. With a loud explosion, the rear end of the ship that had just set off...well, exploded. The ship sank, rapidly, the crew shouting in panic and scrambling for the shore. |
