"You can draw, Bliz?!" Why yes indeedy-doodley, I can. Better than most of you-- "*BOO!!!*" Oh, come on! You know I'm not that up myself! But yes, I can draw and even have an art topic on here somewhere, swiftly abandoned due to the lack of inspiration. Well-p, I'm in art school now and just received Photoshop CS2 courtesy of my good friend Lil Avii, so consider this new topic representing the start of a new era in my drawing career. Hopefully I'll be able to actually upkeep this one (jynx) and even teach you guys a thing or two of what I'm learning down at ol' Scad. And while it's probably silly for the animation major to ask from critique from those who aren't even art majors or even in college, the comments I'll appreciate the most are those of constructive criticism. I won't personally mind anything else, not even outright bashing or flaming because that in turn will lead to some hilarious critiques of your own work... and maybe a warn. Mmm, can't you just feel the love? <333 Enough babbling; onto the good shtuff-->  A gesture drawing I did of Shadow readying to destroy the haters that evolved into this stylized thing. "What is a gesture drawing, Bliz?" Oh, you curious things. It's a 20-30 second sketch of an object you create without looking at your paper. This is designed to force you to get down the true basic form of an object. (Here's some more traditional ones I did awhile ago.) You'll suck at them at first, but the more you practice them the easier it will be for you to predict where things are supposed to go.  It's your favorite Sonic duo--.... Well, at least mine right now. Another gesture drawing but with something added-- Color! Cheap color, but this was done late in the morning so I didn't want to get into the finer points of color theory, a theory I'll be clueless about until next quarter. And yes, I know Chip looks possessed. You don't have to tell me that. xP  What started as a wolf devolved into a fat fluffball of a dog aptly named after a blanket. Nothing special about this one. xP Oh, and this was done some time ago out of pure boredom. I still get a kick out of it. I call this magnum opus "Sonic Team's Thought Process" -->

Yay you made a new one! Well, my art class professor told me the purpose of gesture drawings is to capture the energy of the motion of the model. You've done that quite well in the Shadow pic. Like I said before, his "beer belly" is a slight miff, but other than that, it's well done for 30 seconds. XP Despite being so simply colored, the second one looks very pleasing. You've accurately portrayed where the highlights and shadows would go, and that's clutch. =3 So yeah, great stuff as always. <3 |

You know I've always been a fan of your work, "get the F out of my endzone" is still one of the most memorable pics I've seen of anyone's Sonic work. ^^ These gesture drawings are really great and I'm happy to be seeing newer work from ya again. no critique needed whatsoever. =D |

Thanks for the comments everyone. x3 <3 @ D'Metal: I actually reduced his beer belly from the initial pic! xP Since he's arching his spine though, his stomach is gonna have to appear a little rounded for the full effect. Can't really make him any skinnier lest you view Shadow as a bulimic or something. xD @ sMy: xP Since the rabid fanatic has asked for it -->  Since it seems so popular, I may actually redo this. I can actually draw the Werehog now and not just a fluffy Sonic. Plus I spot way too many mistakes on this one to feel that proud of it anymore. xD @ cap: The reason you haven't seen a lot of my work is because I'm an extremely self-conscious artist. If it isn't like... world-changing to me, then it's hard for me to post it up. Seriously, I generally drew like this (for Bowie <3) -->  -- When now, I can draw and color like this -->  See the difference?! xD But yeah, here's a WIP. I was trying to get it done today since school is tomorrow and we're heading into the final stretch, but a sinus infection put things back. Since this is something I actually am proud of, I figured I could ruin the surprise. Can't give you a definite time frame on when it'll be done though; gonna have to look at my schedule. xP |

I knew you would get the Photoshop painting down. It looks great so far, especially the coloring on the rocks and water, which I think is extremely hard to get down. Sonic's right hand kind of bothers me. I guess it's just the angle of it. Anyway, I can't wait to see it finished. <3 |

Words counts right. Amazing is all I have to add. Though I favour the one with Amy dragging Sonic away, and he makes all effort to avoid being her puppet. (You know what I mean right.) Anyway, great work, can't wait to see more. Isn't that we all say.
