IGN's Top Ten list of video game characters that need to die. ...and cue the bawwwing fanboys.

Personally, the only characters on that list I think should die are Crash, Laura, Master Chief and Kratos. All of them for the reasons listed in the article.

The only one I really have to argue about there is the Sonic cast. How do you just go about killing off forty video game characters for no reason?
The clamour of the city streets
The talking as the people meet
The screeching when two cars collide
The only refuge is inside
Inside myself, locked in my room
Ignoring all the noises boom
Devoid of worries and all fear
No one else can reach me here
This is my haven from all the mess
There’s no room here for strain or stress
When I stay here at my root
The noise is gone, my world is mute

Props for putting Link first. *high fives IGN*.

As for Sonic, the only thing we need to lose is the werehog and the Unleashed "new" type of game. Go back to the basics with any other characters, even in 3D, that should be ok.
Your kidding right? You actually agree with the "reasons" for killing Link that IGN pulled out of their ass?
I didn't read any reasons, but I do know Link has been repetitive (as much as Mario) and if they put him #1 for any reason, I'd gladly accept his placing whether I agree with the given reasons or not.

Still, he's Link how can you want someone as cool as him to die? I think I disagree with the entire list. >_>

After actually reading the article, I kind of agree about Link. They do kind of reincarnate Link every new game (so it's really a different fella each time) but he should end up pulling a Capell in a future game. I mean, self-sacrifice is what being a hero's all about, right? And yet we have yet to see any incarnation of Link commit the ultimate act of such. I mean, and this is off-topic, when Capell in Infinite Undiscovery (and to the haters of that game, I actually enjoyed it despite its faults) hung back to finally finish the quest he'd taken up, despite the fact that he was certain he wasn't coming back, I can't tell you how choked up I was. Then they ruined it by showing that somehow he had made it back. Now if Link actually pulled something like that... How many of us LoZ fans wouldn't just seize up right then and there?
Indeed, there is nothing more repulsive than these monsters that defy nature and are known by the name of witcher, as they are the offspring of foul sorcery and witchcraft. They are unscrupulous scoundrels without conscience and virtue, veritable creatures from hell capable only of taking lives. They have no place amongst decent and honest folk.

I see where your coming from, but Zelda games usually have an alright story anyway and I don't see why anyone would want to end a great series like LoZ. Unless you mean just one Link dieing but their still being more LoZ games with his reincarnations, then yeah I'd be fine with that.

The list has some goods and bads. Mii, Crash, Master Chief, Tonk Hawk, and Slippy (especially Sliipy) can go. Of course the list will have it's biases. It's just a listed, BASED on someone else's opinion.

IGN must...Hold it! Think of something different to say...Ahah!...be eradicated from the face of the universe!

I feel like I'm trolling now, so I'll say something relevent. Like it's been said before, most people *coughIGNcoughcough* are incredibly stupid when it comes to gaming. I mean seriously, killing off almost an entire cast? What the f***?! It is beyond deplorable that some idiots can say that kind of s*** and call themselves 'critics'! Even if they weren't HIGH out of their minds (hint hint) when they said that, they should be arrested for saying something so incredibly bogus and half-assed! Besides, even if Eggman kept building bigger and more destructive robots, it'd get boring after a while having to face the exact same person over and over again! To Sonic Team, I say, keep bringing in as many characters as you see fit! And to IGN, I say, get a life! *gives IGN the finger*

(I believe this is my first little rant on here!)

That's not cool. You changed my quote (the second one). THAT'S NOT WHAT I SAID! You can use whatever I say so long as I SAY IT. But that is NOT WHAT I SAID. May I please ask a mod to delete that fake quote that SOMEONE edited. It is unfair and not just to do a thing like that. I'm sure it opposes a rule as well for impersonation.

Ray, you're just being made fun of, it's not like he's hacking your account and changing your actual post. Any intelligent person isn't going to take it seriously.

Section 6.12 is the one about imposture, and it says nothing about editing quotes.

In future, Ray, save yourself the embarrassment, and just click the report button if you feel offended, and if the moderators see it appropriate, he might get a (verbal?) warning about flaming.

Otaku, stop repeating yourself, it's getting tedious. Not that I particularly care what IGN thinks, it's mainly that most of us don't particularly care about what you think about this. Although I'd say they are being a bit harsh...

TIME TO REALLY EXPLODE!
I agree with pretty much all of that list, except for the Sonic one of course. Honestly, I feel that Sonic Team is always going to keep the cast as it is, and perhaps even keep adding to it. They have just too many different groups to please nowadays.

My question is this; are the followings of each character combined more than the number of fans who want just Sonic and Eggman? Wouldn't Sonic Team sell more games if they appealed to said followings? Add to that some good gameplay and you have a game a majority of people like, and that means more cash-money for Sonic Team. They ARE still in it for a profit, after all.

So, kill the cast? Nah, I don't want them to.

And jeez people. It's their opinion. XP
