Uh hi. My eye has been really bothering me for the past couple days and I'm scared it could be serious. I noticed that on the outside corner of my eye there is at least 5 eyelashes going inward into my eyesocket. I checked my other eye (which isnt bothering me at all) and I see something there too. It's not as much but it still goes in. I've been looking on the internet about it at found out about this thing called trichiasis. It kinda matches what I have, only mine is less serious. I hope I'm wrong because a the treatment for it is surgery. I told my dad about it and he's gonna take me to the doctor tommorow. Does anyone know more about this or what I should do?

Yeah I tried eyedrops but it wouldnt come out. They said this trichiasis thing could tear the eye socket which sounds really painful and i saw some serious pictures on the internet. I might be wrong, and I might just have something stuck in my eye with this being just a coincidence, but I'm still gonna go to the doctor tommorow.

Least you freakin' have eyebrows.

I recomend not worrying about it that much, until you see the doctor you never know. Just be pleasant to your eyes I guess, don't go in a pool without goggles, Don't look at bright lights, take eyepdrops, avoid pictures of Michal Jackson, ect.

May I ask this Question if that's okay: when it started like what day you noticed your eye started bothering you?

also I look this up and found a temporary solution you can use

wikipedia article trichiasis

This type of trichiasis can be flattened by rubbing petroleum jelly onto it, but surgery is sometimes necessary for permanent correction.

This may sound stupid, but it might help if you cry it out. The water in the tears might help ease them out a bit. If, that doesn't work, don't worry about anything, and just remember that if you do need an operation, they only want to help you.

My advice would be to try and not worry about this. And as Anonymous said, don't do anything foolish that may cause more problems before you get to the doctor.

And if anything, I would say to keep positive. I'm sure that even if it was something that may be serious (like trichiasis), you've probably caught it early. The earlier you find these things, the easier they are to treat; the less they may have to turn to surgery for treating it. And really, from what I'm reading, surgery seems to be a final solution to this problem, not a 100% guarantee everytime it's diagnosed. (They also can remove said problem via a laser)

Yeah I read that too, but I also heard that only 1/3 of the eyelash will grow back. But I'm less worried than I was before, like i said its not bothering me much and the doctor will be in tommorow so ill see him then. ill definently know soon.

Edit: Good news, its not trichiasis. The managed to get all of them out at the the doctors office. They said I have extra long eyelashes on the sides and told me to trim them down so they wont go into my eyes again. Im so relieved! ^_^

So ya, a mod can close this topic if they want.
