Agreed, I found that whole thing with Chris taking roles originally done by other characters in the game as dull (and lame). And to be perfectly honest, I never liked Chris. He was too clingy for my tastes. (I had already stated it in another thread, but part of me feels that he was a bit ungrateful for what he had. I understand how important family togetherness is, but he had an awesome butler and maid, a grandfather who was some genius scientist, many friends <despite people saying otherwise>, and an uncle <?> who was part of a super special police force; he drove an awesome car.) I really could care less about the animation style, but the anime style is fitting in my opinion. Although, superflat might be an interesting style. Maybe they could have the people who did the Riders introduction or something like that. I liked the art for the intro. As long as 4kids keeps their hands off the show next time. Intros are always a bazillion times better that the show in hand half the time, take a look at Thundercats and teenage mutant ninja turtles intros, fast extreme and well animated, but in the show they hardly even move lol But yeah, Chris is an emo, and is the reason I hate most emos 85% of emos often don't know how good they've got it, now it's not to say all emos have a brilliant life, but the majority of them do He did have friends in school yes and seemed to forget them when talking about Sonic, the bit that took the cake is when everyone was leaving through the portal, and chris closed it when Sonic was about to go through, yeah, very selfish of you, if I was sonic and Chris did that I would of kicked his pasty white ass lol

Indeed. If they want to make a series that is about the video games, they should stick with the games. That`s something that I hated about movie adaptions of books - they changed stuff or don`t stay true to the original story. They should have let characters like Amy keep their original roles instead of sticking their own "fan character" in there and stealing roles, like these 12 year old Sonic fanfic writers on the internet do.

I still can't use this. Posts: 6,546 Group: Former Monarchs Member #6,722 Joined: March 16, 2008	I don't think adaptations shouldn't be held to a standard of remaining 100% true to the original source material because it's adapting one medium into another. Changes are inevitable. In the case of Sonic X, so much about its universe is different from the games' that it was going to happen. Chris is an important character in the show so it's natural that he be given prominent roles in the adaptations. I don't support the decision in letting him perform other characters' key actions as I'm sure there would have been a better way to work him in the story, but regardless of whether they did that or not, he along with everyone and everything else that didn't originate in the games was going to infringe upon those stories. Speaking of Chris, I agree that there is a somewhat of an annoying paradox when it comes to his loneliness and the fact that he has many good friends, but minus the fact that he's a 12 year old boy who unfortunately knows that nothing can replace a parent's love, loneliness wasn't his only problem. He mostly lacked confidence and actually had a terrible view about himself. Enter Sonic who is the complete opposite of this and can inspire a blind artist to out-paint Monet. His attachment to Sonic really isn't that far-fetched, but then again it doesn't play out as great as it could've because the writing as a whole isn't outstanding. Luckily they got rid of all of these negative character traits in Season 3. Anyways, my general view on Sonic X? I like it, terrible animation and all. I view it as an amalgamation of AoStH's cheesy comedy and the style and action of the games' universe. If you're not that stuck up about it, it's a cute little time waster in that 80s Saturday Morning cartoon kind of way although the Japanese fourth wall moments outdo anything in that era. It's fun to watch, but apparently I'm in a minority so I should probably shut up in leave this thread now. xP Edited by BlizShadow, Jan 21 2009, 06:07 PM.

Despite it`s flaws (I see less of them than most people apparently), I enjoy the show and like it. I definitely can see what you mean in explaining why Chris attaches himself to Sonic, I had already seen it. But this isn`t why I dislike Chris. In fact, all of the characters in Sonic have attached themselves to Sonic in some form or another for one reason or another. That`s what comes with being a hero in a cartoon. I dislike Chris because of his constant mopeyness and so easily getting depressed or the fact that his reaction to everything is to get depressed. They got rid of that in season 3? I wish I could get all of those episodes, I`m having a DEVIL of a time finding them. :/

The whole scene where Cream gets up to bat. "Oh Mr. Pitcher, could you please not throw the ball too fast, I've never played." Something along those lines. And the robot goes into a cuteness overload.

Fires of rage Posts: 3,873 Group: Game Over :( Member #9,245 Joined: July 27, 2008	when i was a little bit younger, i thought Sonic X was gonna be good, and when i heard the voices, i was like, "What the hell?". The music in Sonic X is the same damn thing over and over again. Sonic's theme in the show was very repetitive, slow and not inspiring. Rouge's theme is the same, loud and very annoying. Knuckle's theme needs a more hip-hop feel to it. His last two theme songs were always some guy rapping. And the edits were annoying. All of the writing was taken off. And something i noticed about One Piece. Some kid pirate was changed from a black kid to a white kid. I think 4kids is racist and bad at dubbing. Sonic X shouild've just been animated by Funimation (company that dubbed Dragonball Z).
