I tried to discuss with you guys about something I was interested in, but every opinion I had was picked to the bone, particularly often by BlizShadow. I have attempted to deal with it time and time again, but frankly, I'm sick of it. Now, I get it - the purpose of a discussion board is to discuss, but one ought to be allowed to state their opinion without an in-depth analysis of why they are wrong. I probably could have just faded away quietly and there really would not be anyone wondering where I went, and I can deal with that. I just felt like I needed to say - lighten up, you guys. I'm all for open discussion, but let the harmless sleeping dog lie.

I still can't use this. Posts: 6,546 Group: Former Monarchs Member #6,722 Joined: March 16, 2008	I personally don't believe any opinion should be above being able to be disagreed with. Not only is it an easy way to spur discussion, but it's also a good way to learn. You and me have different ideologies on things, but that doesn't mean my disagreeing with you is me trying to outright tell you absolutely cannot think that way. I myself have been schooled in discussion as has everyone. It doesn't make me want to leave or make me think I'm completely wrong or stupid. In fact, it intrigues me at what the other person does know and I usually end up taking at least something from the encounter, sometimes an idea that will actually strengthen my own way of thinking in the long run. And besides, a lot of the time casual banter and endless agreeing on a forum is so boring because the conversation evolves that much more slowly. In short, I like to debate for debate's sake and to have fun, not for converting people to my viewpoint or anything in the vain of. That's... just creepy, and at the end of the day, I know people are going to think how they want to regardless of how much I yap on about the logic behind their ideas. It's an ultimately useless endeavor 99.9% of the time. But I don't deny my love of discussion makes me come across as unnecessarily aggressive to some people no matter how innocent my intention actually is. But maybe I should take a hint-- I've acted and been labeled as such ever since I've been on the internet. Being labeled an elitist or uptight for all of this time is quite sucky and the feeling doesn't actually become sweeter as time pass, especially when my intentions don't reflect that, but I don't surmise that you feel any better about the situation regardless of what I think. So I'll take the time to apologize for making you feel unwelcome here, especially since that was never my goal.
