Maybe we can host a Sig of the week competition? We've tried to in the past, but they just fell flat. Maybe someone would be willing to host another one and actually try to make it successful? I remember we had something similar when the forum was only like 3 months old. We only had three contestants and that didn't work well.

He never does. And then he wonders why we have no sympathy towards him when he has his emo rants. To prevent this becoming a TF bashfest, allow me to make a proposal. We have a GFX Army, right? We don't need to have a mod or admin in charge of this, right? You see where I'm going with this? Plus sides to this: There is more than one GFX member so judges are easy to source. Lack of activity from one member won't hurt as badly as it currently it. It'd actually give the GFX something to do to justify having access to the staff area - I mean, how often do they seriously get involved with making graphics around here? Finally, as they're creative people in the first place I'd imagine they could spice things up easily enough with a themed challenge every now and then. Also, how's about making it once every fortnight instead of week? Once a week would be draining, once a month would be too boring. Every two weeks sounds like a fair compromise. Thoughts? |

Well if you would ever wait MoD and LET me find things, maybe I wouldn't get angry when you blame me for things like that. And I dont emo rant ok. Just stop making assumptions on me please. I was planning to get to this competition as well. I just set up the awards competition this weekend and later this week I was going to set up the next one. I dont have the time at JUST this moment to set them up because of my IMPORTANT school work that I get blamed for things I'm neglecting here when I'm doing my school work. I was going to get to the signature competition yes. Having the GFX and mods and judges yes is a good idea, though this competition will be for members only, no staff, mods or any of that would be allowed, because then, if we are picking the winners instead of letting members vote on them, then that would be bias because the staff would alot of the time win, since most often, staff members have an advantage in competitions since they are some of the most well know people on the forum. Thus why in my new awards later on, will have topics that are staff and member related to split up the staff and member categories since most of the time if a staff member is in a category, they almost, not always will win just because people would vote for a staff member over a normal member. Yes I have seen people do this many times. If this is the one you want me to set up next, sure I will, but we need a place were we can put these competitions, because having them all spread out over differenty forums makes them hard to find, which is still why I suggested a competition forum instead of that awards only forum, so you can stick all competitions there, either that or put a competitions subforum somewhere. That sounds better to me, than the sig competition over in this forum, the avitar one over here and this one over there where you have to search all over the place to find them. There, that is my two cents, you happy now? |

Well, I assume you could give it a try once more. Last time, it didn't turn out like I had expected. And well we all have our difficulties and abstractly importances then being all around the forum. Whether it's school or work it is as important like yours. Don't forget that. But I don't see the big deal removing the staff's possibility to actually involve. Sure we might be popular. But some members have the same status like anyone of us have. And are we supposed to choose out of friendship. I mean, I didn't turn against Bliz and LilAvii when judging their battles in the tourney just because I love Tux's writing and it would have been easy to just add a few extra mistakes with no particular reason. Nevertheless the competition should be made for all. That's just me though. Or else I want to be one originally member for a short duration when I actually want to see how well I fair up against others. Why couldn't we make Signature of the Week into something more like a duel battle and the three finalist would have to come up with something neat and thereby voted by members on who should be selected as the winner. Of course everything should be voted by our members. |

We can have the staff participate as well, but I'm pretty sure that a judge cant be in the competition though, thats kind of unfair if one of the judges is actually in the competition, since they probably would want to vote for themselves. And I do agree though that once a week is a bit much and every two weeks would be a better duration for this competition really. Every two or three weeks, since you need to give people time to submit their sigs, you need voting time and all that, doing it once a week would be kind of rushed. |

I am seeing this without the actual need of any judges at all. Why not let members choose whether shall be victorious by giving their votes. Nonetheless maybe we should use that same system your using TF down at the awards. We won't be able to see who's judging on who. And I don't see how we should be able to judge on our own. What fun would that be. Maybe just make a rule about. You can't vote on your own. It's just a possibility. |

You know what, yes that actually does work there. I can run the signiture and the avitar competitions that way. That never even occurred to me to run them the same way as my awards. That's a good idea. That way everyone can sign up if they wish. After the sign up period is over, I just make one big poll where everyone who entered can be voted on. If the number of people in the competition is like what over ten people then we will have two polls where the first one we narrow it down to like what five or six, and then have another vote to determine the winner. If we have less than ten people then you can just go straight to a final vote. All topics would be closed to posting, and just for voting to ensure that privacy is being given. That sounds like a very good idea where we wont need the judges at all. |

When did I say you could make that topic? I was going to make it when someone actually answered my questions and most likely was going to do it tomorrow. Plus, its in the arts section where no one will see it. |

It's in the art section... where graphics designers will see it. Move it if you have a better place. ^^ And I don't need your permission to make it. See the big ass "Unoffical" written at least twice? :3 |

Gale's right, you can't stop her from making a SOTW topic when the concept is still not yet established on the site. You especially can't stop a "Unofficial" version of it. Those may even come up after the real deal is in existence (made by other members) but I find that scenario highly unlikely. |

Self-loathing optimist.

I think the main problem is that: a) We have no hall of fame set up for this. Winners should be promised an entry in this, be it stickied somewhere in the forum. b) Why have a set of judges? It should be a poll... |
