• Fight will be judged by a member of Organization XII who isn't competing
  (Anyone who would like to can volunteer for this position. I ask for a judge to be on hand not because I expect any serious rule violations... but because all-out character battles can occasionally get twisted up with people's emotions, unfortunately. In case we get any wounded egos {including my own, though I promise to be a good sport} I would ask that the judge be available to moderate the interactions between players. Additionally it will be the judge's role to determine the amount of experience players have earned at the end of the battle - this gives our judge the power to penalize people for poor sportsmanship or other infractions.)
  
• Limited ganging up allowed
  (Keep in mind that this is All Vs All. Personally, I don't mind if several players decide they want to take me down first, but if a player decides they don't like facing off with three or more people at once they can PM the concern to me or the Organization XII Judge and I'll deal with it. Rule of thumb: play nice, m'kay?)
  
• Only personal weapons / powers allowed
  (Again, this should go without saying, but just to be safe... no armies, no battleships / spaceships / nuclear missiles / Death Stars / etcetera! If your character is a summoner or can generate copies of themselves, that's fine... but no more than ten summons / copies at a time. It really shouldn't be necessary.)
  
• Hybrid style combat
  (This is in regards to conscent. Essentially, "hybrid style" or "limited consent" means that you are only permitted to "mod" (control; write) another player's character's minor actions. You cannot dictate that they take any damage beyond a few small bruises and very minor cuts from your attacks; if your intent is to inflict greater wounds than that, the attacked player is the one who dictates the effect(s) of your attack(s) on their character. This lets characters cross swords, trade punches, and describe involved battle scenes that would be impossible otherwise, but without stepping on anyone's rights in so doing.)
  
• Description + Creativity = Power
  (Another basic fundamental, both for players and judges. Strong Character + Weak Writing = Epic Fail. Strong (or) Weak Character + Strong Writing = Epic Win! Weak Character + Weak Writing = Why Are You Here??)
  
• Some realism, please.
  (This isn't DBZ, people. If your opponent goes to great lengths to describe a powerful attack, don't claim something stupid like "I swat the pathetic energy ball to the side and slash at ~insert character here~'s face with my sword." One, it's poorly written. Two, it's an insult to all the work your opponent put into writing it. Are you allowed to dodge / parry some attacks? Yes! All attacks? NO! Roll with the punches - it makes for a better story that way, and people will respect you more for it.)
  
• Honor thy opponent
  (Even if your character is spiteful and unfriendly, that doesn't give you, their player, the right to be. Walk the line between the two very carefully, and remember... IT'S JUST A GAME.)
  
• Two weeks' grace
  (When your character attacks an opponent, the clock starts ticking. The attacked player(s) have two weeks to post an in-character response to the attack, after which time you are allowed to make a post detailing the (non-fatal, non-KO) damage they received from it. If another week goes by and they haven't posted, you can post an attack finishing them off. If there are circumstances beyond your control preventing you from posting, please let someone know immediately so this consequence can be avoided!)
  
• No double posting, except as detailed above
  (Aside from this one rule, who-posts-when is up to the players. If you want a specific posting order (IE: "Bob's turn to post is after Joe") we can do that; if you want it to be first-come-first-served, that's fine too. Just let us know your opinion one way or another)
  
• Post or link to your character's bio
  (No character write-up, no entry. Everything about your character needs to be available for your opponents to read; this way we know you aren't just making powers and abilities up as you go along. This does, however, bring up the subject of metagaming; our judge will have the authority to require that players rewrite part or all of a post in the event of this violation.)
  
• Regarding finishing moves...
  (This is no-holds-barred, people. With that said... should you get the chance to finish off your foe {see 'Two weeks' grace' above}, you will have the option to {A} spare them, {B} KO them, or {C} kill them. Each choice has its consequences, however. If you spare your opponent they are not out of the fight, and may come back to take you out later. A KO means that their character is unconscious or otherwise unable to continue fighting, and is officially out of the battle. You also have the option to, in whatever fashion you decide - within forum rules of appropriate posting - kill or destroy your foe. This option is available because, let's face it, our characters will all be throwing around deadly force at each other. This isn't a Pokemon game; Hyperbeam does not result in "Squirtle fainted!", but rather "Squirtle got blasted clean into next Tuesday!". Still, people don't generally like the idea of other people killing their character... so decide wisely. And a note to the timid here: if your character gets killed in the fight, does that mean they're gone forever and you can never use that character again? Of course not!)
