With a laugh, Rachel waved a hand dismissively. "As long as it's solid, you can shoot it," she assured him, "And if it isn't... well, that's Tim's job. Tangibility comes into play more often than not anyways." The fox folded her arms and shut her eyes confidently. "Don't worry, you'll be plenty useful. 'Job security isn't an issue 'til you break something,' that's my rule." "I thought it was 'You're not fired 'til you quit'..." Tim mumbled to himself. |

A mute second slipped by as they left the freeway and, sensing a suitable gap in the conversation to insert a question, he lifted his voice to a normal level. His insatiable curiousity never slept, it seemed. "And you?" he asked, "How... exactly did you manage to find yourself here, of all places?" |

"I come from another timeline, in about the year 2035. I was a cyberwarfare operator, fancy word for 'military hacker' for the U.S Air Force since 2033. My first and last assignment was Space Colony ARK, where I was in charge of an initiative to reprogram Eggbots. I also had a hand in Project Shadow, neither which did a certain Dr. Robotnik like. It turned out that he had an arm of G.U.N in his pay and they trashed the station for him. Life support slowly fading, we had to find a way out. I used the data in a side-project of mine to create what you now see in front of you. Unfortunately, something went wrong while everything was being put in, and when I woke up, everyone was dead. Except for me. The ARK ended up crashing into Greenland shortly afterwards. After some fighting, I was able to retrieve the seven Chaos Emeralds in order to power a time distortion device. I had planned to stop G.U.N from invading, knowing that I would be destroyed by doing so. I succeeded. But I guess being 'destroyed' in one timeline could mean redirection to another." |

Rachel exchanged a significant glance with Tim; Chaos phenomena was next to unheard of in their hometown of Azure Lakes, and the parapsychologist was greatly infuriated by the fact that there was an area of his expertise that he could not study first-hand or even research in any great detail; information on the subject was sparse at best. "Wierd that such a paradoxial action would create a chain of events like that without causing extreme damage to the temporal flux," she said. Tim nodded in agreement, his head snapping to face her again a second later. "Wait, what?" Rachel grinned to herself. "I read books too you know," she said smugly, a smirk fighting it's way onto her face. |

Still facing the window, Tim looked out of the corner of his eye at Miles critically. Talk about technological advancement... "'Crude'?" he said lightly, "If you say s-" He stopped and shivered involuntarily. Huh? What was that? Felt like a cold spot... did we just pass through a mana rip? Recalling a few equations, he tried to figure out if there was any ley activity in the area. Can't remember any being here last time though... huh... |

//So I'm coming in, and I have permission from Miles the Cy-Fox.\\ Unknown to trio in car, their life would be in serious danger soon. Few kilometrs from their car, at the top of one of highest skyscrapers in city, sudden flash of green energy erupted for a instant. If someone would have looked at building's roof, he would have been very surpised. Four robots had appeared, each one looking completely different from each other. But there was two things in common with them. First one was that they each were modeled after Mobian, and second one that they looked little strange for machines, because every single one of them moved with grace and speed of organic being, and they all had artificial faces what moved. They did not look as much robots, than living beings what had been changed into robots, so alive they looked to be. One of group, rather large robot that looked like red echinda, stepped into the edge of roof, and looked city below, saying: "So our target is here? Do we have any idea where he is, because it would be rather boring search whole city first." Another robot what had still not moved from spot it had appeared, and what looked like mobian blue hedgehog, said quickly with mild anger in his voice: MX-02, our mission's first objective is to destroy our target completely, and no matter how long it takes or how "boring" it is, we shall complete it." Red robot turned and responded: "I know that! but knowing those two, we will again be wasting time with useless "scouting" as MX-03 calls it." When speaking, robotic echinda pointed at two remaining robots. First one was yellow fox with two properrel blades as tails, another black and red colored hedgehog. Latter did not response any way, but robotic fox did: It is not useless. If we would do things in your way, we would just bust into scene without any kind of plan, and would probably be destroyed by locals before we would even see our target." Another strange thing was, that these robots were showing emotions, and red echinda was now clearly angry. "Like that would be possible! We are in completely different caliber than anything else here. I am just bored on your stupid plans which we do not usually even need." Blue robot sighed, because those two arguing with each other was not anything new. "I am leader here, and now I order yout two stop that arguing, it will not be any use for our mission. This city is large and our scanners won't work well in metropolis like this, so best course of action will be splitting up. Move!" Black hedgehog had already left when it's blue counterpart had finished sentence, and red robot quickly activated it's thrusters in it dreadlocks, flying away quickly. Orange fox jumped of the roof soon after, leaving leader of these killing machines alone. This robot just looked at sky, and then just vanished in thin air from the roof. Few seconds later there was no indication that anyone had been in roof just moments ago.... |

Everytime Sega tries something new with Sonic games, everybody yell how it ruins everything, and later complains that why doesn't Sega try something new...... The arcanist did not answer for a few seconds, as he was still mentally crunching numbers. Having finished his equations, he shook his head. "It's probably nothing," he said slowly, or at least as slow as it got with Tim. His gaze swept over the passing buildings, prompting his memory abruptly. That looks familiar... we must be close. |

Cy-Fox then pulled into a small driveway that turned into a curving drive that led into the small mini-mall complex where the cafe was located. He pulled the sedan into an open parking spot and then turned the key towards him. The engine stopped running and the only other noise within was the ambient humming coming from him. Motors whined as he took ahold of the center console and pulled it down. He pressed the button that opened the console, which had a sleek dangerous looking submachine gun inside. He grabbed ahold of it and pointed it at the ceiling. It was stamped with a serial number and what looked like its designation - "AMP-12". "Stay here until I sweep our part of the lot." the cyborg said. |

Tim instinctively stiffened at the sight of the firearm, but quickly relaxed, reminding himself that such an unconcious reaction was logically uncalled for. "Sure," he said with a nod, "Better safe than sorry." He waited until Miles had shut the door behind him, then slumped in his seat. "'Sweep our part of the lot'? I have got to find a more sane crowd of people to mingle with..." he sighed. Rachel twisted around in her chair and slapped his shoulder lightly. "Does that statement cover me too?" she scoffed, "Don't be so judgemental, Read, it's not healthy." |

High in the sky, robot named MX-02 was flying around the city, searching for it's target. Robotic echinda was flying by thrusters in it's dreadlocks, but machines inside them were nothing as crude like rockets. All that could be seen, was dim yellow light coming from them, and there was no smoke or noise of rockets. This was probably reason why someone had not already noticed red robot flying in the middle of city. "Just my luck. Why that coward could not hide himself somewhere else? I hate cities like these, streets full of pathetic organic weaklings, who can't do anything else than just crawl thought their lives. But where is he?" Suddenly blink came into MX-01's radar, indication that target had been found. Artificial face of killing machine smiled, and then robot changed direction it had been going, so that it was now flying towards it's target. It would take about ten minutes for MX-02 to reach it's destination, which seemed to be cafe or some sort, if city map programmed into robot's memory was correct. Killing machine continued flying, it's arms already folding into weapons. This would be interesting. |
