Yay for all of those people(like me) without a credit card. Now I'll finally be able to buy classic games off of the PS Store.

September 26, 2008 - Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA) is expanding the availability of the popular PlayStation Network Cards to additional major retailers nationwide this holiday season. The PlayStation Network Cards, which can be used to purchase content for PlayStation 3(PS3) and PSP (PlayStation Portable) systems, will be available at Walmart, Best Buy, select Sam's Club outlets in October 2008, and at Barnes & Noble College Bookstores locations in November 2008.

With the cards, PS3 and PSP fans can buy games, movies, TV shows, themes and add-on content from the PlayStation Store and other PlayStation Network services. The PlayStation Network Cards are available in $20.00 and $50.00 denominations and are currently offered at Blockbuster, Pamida, Meijer Superstores and Speedway store locations.

"The PlayStation Network Cards are an easy way for PSP and PS3 fans to obtain great games, movies, TV shows and other entertainment through PlayStation Network and we are pleased to offer them at major retailers nationwide," said Eric Lempel, director, PlayStation Network Operations, SCEA. "With the holiday season right around the corner, these cards are an ideal gift option for friends and family, whether they are movie aficionados, dedicated gamers or something in between."

Stealing what? No... Why does it have to be compared to XBL and what makes you think they're charging a lot??? I don't see how you could have pulled any of that out of the article.

It's a card(similar to a gift card) so you can buy things without a credit card. Pretty simple, everyone's doing it.

Oh right dollars... Soz I'm british and thought it said pounds, nevermind. But yeah I guess it's not a contest, But I don't see why they didn't have this on release. I mean most people with a PS3 won't have a credit card anyway.

Takes time to manufacture it and get them into stores. They've been out, it's just now they're coming to bigger retail stores. Once I get some cash, I'll be on this. Can't wait to play Crash on my PSP. I haven't played that game in forever!

It hasn't even been 2 years since PSN was created(it was created when PS3 launched). Microsoft also had a whole gen ahead of Sony with a dedicated online service, so of course they'd have it first... ;)
