I decided to re-work this RP I tried a while ago with a revamped layout since the last one never really got off the ground. Anyway, normal rules and this probably won't start until all the positions are filled! Anyway, here's the premise: The world as always had two dominant species; the proud humans and their animal-based cousins, the furries! Since the dawn of time, the two races have lived in peace and harmony with each other, and shared all aspects of their lifestyle together…Especially their magic, which put them above all living things! But one day, something terrible happened; the humans found that they were no longer able to tap into the power of magic! The generation of that time had evolved away from the forces of magic, gradually losing their magical abilities and leaving them powerless, but the furries retained their magic as their race was more connected to magical properties than humans. At this, the humans grew angry, blaming them for their loss of magic, thinking they were responsible. They were shunned from society, driven out and forced to live in a separate society from them. There were a few humans who’d also retained their magic, but they were driven off as well, convinced they were in alliance with the furries who allegedly took the humans’ power so that they could have it to themselves. It was like this for centuries, the humans and furries constantly feuding until the humans finally gained the dominance. Today, humans have the furries of society under their thumb, with the international organization F.U.R.L.E.S.S. (Fighting Under the Righteous Leadership of Earth’s Superior Species) that’s dedicated to keeping furries in their place, as well as the fur pounds, the tyrannical furry prisons used to make an example of any furries who dare to resist with their cruel and heartless torture. But there is still hope; the organization F.U.R. (Furry Underground Resistance) is growing, hiding in secret societies consisting of networks of modernized tunnels far underneath the earth’s surface, gathering power to eventually rise up and reclaim their status in society from the oppressive humans. There are still humans with magical abilities, but they now keep their power under wraps, choosing not to involve themselves in the foolish war the humans have started…But they may not have a choice anymore, so will they support their human brethren, or help the furries take back their rights? Magical Status: (For humans; All furries have magical abilities) Name: Brooke Reflectos Age: 16 Gender: Female Species: Anthro Fox Appearance: Tall girl of about “5'9, has brown fur and wears denim shorts, a white tank-top, a red bandanna, and a large fanny-pack Personality: Hot-headed and quick to anger, she’s a moody warrior with a lot of attitude and an utter hatred for humans Background: She was born and raised in the underground, seeing little of the surface world. She got her hatred for humans as she was raised on furry beliefs, and loathes them for blaming her kind for their inability to use magic. This hatred was only strengthened when her parents were killed under torture in a fur pound when she was only seven, left to fend for herself. She’s now seen a lot more of the surface as she’s become the current leader of the American branch of F.U.R. Powers: Like her family before her, she uses a multitude of mirror-based spells including copies of herself and others and attack mimicking. Her last name is actually a clan name based upon these powers, and she carries on the tradition. Special Abilities: She’s a mechanical genius that can repair and modify almost any mechanical device. She also can use almost anything she can get her hands on as a weapon. Weapons: Although she’s resourceful enough to use almost anything around her as a weapon, her main weapons are a pair of swords. She can also channel her power into them to change them into someone else’s weapons. Alliance: F.U.R. (Obviously!) Here's the characters needed: F.U.R. Leader: Brooke F.U.R. Second-in-command: Lamoon F.U.R. Commander: Shaft F.U.R.L.E.S.S. Leader: Carl Benon F.U.R.L.E.S.S. Second-in-command: Jael Lymascel F.U.R.L.E.S.S. Name:Lamoon Age:21 Gender:Male Species:Rat Appearance:  (ignore Magnius)Personality:laid back and joking,often verbally assaults his enemies.More of a leader then a follower,but will follow those he respects. Background:Was banished from his village when one of his pranks burnt down the village's field of crops.Now works with the resisstance as an undercover agent.Fights either at a distance with kunai or close up with his sword,the Black Gate.He has no personal grudge against the humans,but chooses to stand by his people.Due to this,he often makes the most well thoughtout plans since he doesn't care about species.People are sceptical to his position of power in the resisstance,but he has saved many members by finding poison in drinks and food that assasins put in them.His goal is to save his best friend Desun the Hedgehog,who he grew up with. Powers: creating small black holes(only when using sword),using special black holes to hide inside of,ability to sense poison in food or drinks. I'll join this. Name: Shaft Age: 17 Gender: Male Species: Fox Appearance: Dark grey fur, quite a few scars. Torn ear. Wears a black cloak with light armor underneath. Personality: Calm and collected. Likes to toy with his enemies. Loves to fight. Background: An orphan who doesn't know where he came from. While wandering in a village, he spotted a poster advertising to join F.U.R. Joins F.U.R because he dislikes humans and wishes to keep them under control. Special Abilities: Very agile. Skilled with knives. Can jump very high. Weapon: Light Sword. He is a strong individualist, dislikes taking orders and prefers to work solo; despite this, he has developed a growing loyalty to the F.U.R. cause in the months since he joined. His background as a thief and assassin-for-hire, along with his "peculiar capabilities" have made him vital in several difficult missions. His specialties are in the field of scouting, infiltration, and espionage, but he has also been called upon at times on ops intended to liberate impounded furries. Powers: (see character bios) Special Abilities: (see character bios) Weapon: An arsenal of small five inch throwing knives. Alliance: F.U.R. Name: Iris Sercha Age: Early twenties Gender: Female Species: Lynx Appearance: (see character bios) Personality: Like the fire she wields as a metallurgist she can be very contained and focused, her mind nearly drowning out the world when she's working on something, but when her iron-clad calm is shattered she erupts like a wildfire and can barely restrain herself. She cares for her twin brother Kassom to the point where she is more like his caretaker and assistant than simply his sister. She perceives herself as a skilled amateur in the work of purifying and fortifying metals and is ever curious to learn how to improve herself. Unlike her brother who acts reckless and outgoing, Iris is very private, slow to warm up to people, and prefers solitude over social situations. She is a diligent worker, and when given a task she will not relent until it is either accomplished or proven completely impossible for her. Background: When Kassom joined the resistance, Iris followed close on his heels. Her power over fire and skill with refining and crafting metal have made her a material asset to F.U.R.'s operations, mostly in forging weapons and armor for the soldiers to use. She is very proud of her underground workshop - the first stable work space she's ever had - and as a result upgrades it every chance she gets. Even though she works mostly "behind the scenes", her labors for furry freedom have not gone unnoticed. Powers: Pyrokinesis Special Abilities: Uncanny Metallurgy, Field Medic Weapon: An unusually large forge hammer Alliance: F.U.R. Name: "Professor" Vates Panoply Ersatz Age: Late fifties Gender: Male Species: Lynx Appearance: (see character bios) Personality: A curious older man who claims to be Kassom & Iris' uncle, but can offer no proof of his claim. He has a fascination with rare & esoteric knowledge, especially knowledge of the arcane sort, and is by profession an "artificer" - someone who makes magical items. The twin siblings first encountered the old man... well, it's a long story, but suffice to say it was quite an awkward event. Vates has since convinced Kassom and Iris to help him establish a traveling "Anything Agency", which is essentially little more than himself and his two young partners doing odd jobs (and some of them have, in fact, been very odd). Vates styles himself as a "cultured gentlemen" in the old-fashioned way, using big words and fancy language always with an overarching "I know more than you can possibly imagine" tone in his voice. He is obsessed with patterns - an outstretching of his rare ability to see and make sense of the energy patterns inherent in all things. He is frequently seen wearing a custom-made pair of green-tinted goggles when applying this ability to the infusing of objects with energy, which is the foundation of his "artificer" enchantment-making skill. Besides the arcane arts he is also a student of the classical sciences, and can combine the two to create devices of immense (and often illogical) power. Background: Since joining the resistance Vates has come to act as a sort of "magical handyman", fixing and improving things in the F.U.R. underground compound where he, Iris, and Kassom are based. Everything from fire-infused water heaters to ether-based electrical systems and arcane communication devices, he does it all... and several things which nobody besides him really understand. There's also a rumor going around that F.U.R. command has him working on experimental magic-based weapons, but this has yet to be confirmed. What is known is that strange sounds can be heard coming from his workshop - which is right next door to Iris' forge - at all hours when he isn't otherwise engaged. Powers: (see character bios) Special Abilities: Knowledgeable about a wide range of mechanical devices and scientific phenomenon. Can also ramble on in technobabble with such intensity that it gives his listeners migraines. Weapon: Artifice Marbles; the Crossbow of Improbability Alliance: F.U.R. |

Special Abilities: Taylor is an ace marksman. Weapon: Komodo's Snipe, a hunter's-green sniper rifle that augments Taylor's already-formidable marksmanship, as well as possessing other unknown properties. Alliance: FURLESS (draftee, he'd not join under his own volition.) Magical Status: Taylor has a... unique magical talent that he keeps hidden. May add more if need be. |

Hmm... well, we have one (reluctant) FURLESS soldier, and Chaos Controller might come through with some of the essential leadership characters. But we need to ensure that we have sufficient villains if this is going to get off the ground, so here's what I propose as a fall-back solution: Since it's Melissails' RP and she has the real vision for how the story should work, she could probably create and manage a character for the FURLESS leader most effectively. I'll volunteer to craft a character for the FURLESS Commander; I've got a few ideas already that might work out well. As to who makes the second-in-command... well, I think Melissails would know best who to select for that. I only suggest this because, without doubt, Melissails plans to see this RP through as far as it will go, and I intend to as well. |
