Ice Cap Act 1 Posts: 226 Group: C Rank Guardian Member #9,129 Joined: July 3, 2008	i have a question & I know it's late in coming...Specially due to how i've been roleplaying for about 6 years....I keep getting warnings i'm borderline god-modding. Yet all I can do is apoligise for...you see....I have no knowledge of god-modding...no one ever told me what it is...i've been to emberassed to ask...& i'm now paying for it...so i'm gonna ask....What's god-modding & what can I do to prevent it from happening?
	Yay I can RP again but for now i'm sticking with one at a time until I find a good balance between my mate & this. ROFL.

X3;; As for god-modding, it's basically being excessively controlling over the other players and the scenario. It can manifest in many forms: making all of your attacks connect while avoiding everything thrown at you, having attacks that are just too powerful, killing characters without their creator's permission, etc. Avoiding god-modding is very easy. Make your character vulnerable by taking attacks. Make sure your powers and reactions are realistic and reasonable to the situation at hand (whenever in doubt about whether an attack is god-modding, downplay its power). And remember, never, ever, ever state the reaction of anything you do. The moment you say what happens as a result of your actions, you've god-modded.

Sorry, had to get that out. lol. but anyways, you can join the organization and receive help from experienced rpgers to improve you rp skill and ensure that no god-modding will even cross your mind. it is a number things actually. controlling another character that is not yours. killing another character that is not yours, good or bad. being overly powerful, not giving the person your attacking a chance to defend him/her self, which is controlling another character in a way. EX: ~~"lilsonic shoots a laser beam at Kane and it passes though Kane's left shoulder making him not able to use his left arm."~~ thats god-modding in a way. EX: lilsonic shoots a laser beam at Kane, aiming at his shoulder lilsonic could only hope that it would hit or at least graze his shoulder to by some time." thats not god-modding because I didn't state if it hit or not, thats up to whom ever is controlling Kane if they want it to hit and depending on the situation and what Kane was doing before hand. Also, evading everywhere attack thrown at you is god-modding or simply going right through the attack like if it didn't even effect you, that is god-modding. I for one think teleaporting is god-modding but some may say other wise. I'm mean sure, using chaos control is cool, but the way I've seen it used is not cool. plus, if you are teleaporting you still need to give the person your a attacking a chance to dodge, block, ect. simply just don't be over powerful, let people react to your attacks, if your leading a group or going somewhere, don't make them follow you unless they want to. they may see something and start heading else where and what not. So! I hoped that helped, is not, you can seek more advance and training if you will here. Organization XIII

Yet i needed to tell you, since this isn't the first time i have seen God-moding in your posts. Both Bliz and lilsonic have said already enough. I wished no harm by telling you, but it might be for a good cause since i wish you get rid of that tactic and learn to wait for your rival's dodge, counter or hit. If you can work this way, you will be just fine. Yet i also say. Join the club by following that link. Then head into the School and start asking for what you wish to learn and anyone of the leaders shall guide you through the rest.

Ice Cap Act 1 Posts: 226 Group: C Rank Guardian Member #9,129 Joined: July 3, 2008	I'll do that. i'm definitely open to learning ways to improve my roleplaying skills. also thanks everyone i shall seek to not do that. &...sadly teleportation is a main part in many of red's attacks. Most of the time though i give chance to react. & i thought of an example but am unsure if condsiderung god-modding due to the damage to self part. it was Legions vs. Litany. Ex: Basically what happened is my character Red (5-tailed kitsune & also one in my avvy) saw 3 other characters fighting & he decided to intervene by jumping out of a tree & running up to Dragonflame's character tackling him. in the process though I (Red) ended up braking a lot of my bones & was slightly disadvataged during the rest of the fight Even considering severely hurting my character....Is that still god-modding? Yet it shouldn't be used at all. Always leave your rival, that is another members character able to choose how the outcome will become. That leaves no complains, and happy faces since we all embark on equality chance to connect and dodge aether move. Still i feel you could join Organization XIII, or take a look into the tournament. Maybe if you learn the ways of removing god-moding you might even stand a good chance in the next tournament if you decide to join. One more thing man, even i notice. Try and type a bit slower. Some words get out of hand even if i understand, but there is always progress available.
