Crater City

The site of a large asteroid collision a millenia ago, Crater City is located in the center and around the surrounding rim of the indent. The city is more of a town considering that it's mainstay population is rather small, it is usually occupied by workers who, under contractors, mine in and around diffrent parts of the hole that city grounds do not already occupy. It has been a hotspot for underground water reservoirs, natural resources, Artifacts, and fossils. It can draw a sizeable tourist crowd yearly as well considering a nice year round warm climate. The "manufactured" landmark here is the Chandler tower which is the only major skyscraper in the city (there are a few other, short, skyscrapers downtown and all buildings otherwise whether downtown or around the diameter of the crater are short and small), employees there manage trade in and out of the city, it is essential to the economy of the area.

The North, South, East, and West sides of the crater itself have been mined in a way so that trips into and out of the city can be made relatively simple via vehicle or walking if that is what citizens would prefer.

Geographical Locaton/ Information: Desert like area near the water. Tropical sunny weather year round with some summers getting brutally hot. (a combination of LA, New Orleans, and Death Valley.)

Recent History/ Current State

Mayor- Orion (Yellow Echidna, dresses formally most of the time. Favors harsh rule when necessary and economically driven, "Semi-Communistic" views that are very lax in law and partially Democratic as well.)

- Mining Riot/ Union Strike

Earning nearly nothing for hard manual labor the miners in and around the city went on strike. Mayor O expected a quick resolution and return to normalcy but since he offered no new plan the Strikes went on and the economy began to fall. Growing tired of the picket lines, Orion activated a state of martial law and the SWAT brigades (mostly consisting of Hedgehogs and Echidnas) to patrol the streets and disperse the picketers and force them back to work. This led to a full scale riot as his plan backfired, the city streets turned into chaos as windows and mailboxes filled the streets either full or in pieces. Trying to avoid using lethal means, the SWAT teams gassed and pounded hard to stamp out the protests, news reached the outlying cities and the pressure was on to come to a quick resolution or Orion's image, and his city, would be forever tarnished. Inviting two representatives of the Workers Union, they worked out a deal to increase the pay 400% (still not a lot, but enough to live on) and dispell a majority of the active SWAT from duty. At the end there was only one casualty of the riots, and that was from a "supposed" accidental firing of a SWAT firearm, that loss of a life serves as a constant reminder to the people of Crater City, the horrors of violent protest and police aggression. Today the workers are back to work, but the city is still scarred from the uprising. Windows all over downtown are boarded up and other walls are tagged (graffiti) while dumpsters, mailboxes, and general trash are everywhere (but being cleaned at a moderate rate.) and the immediate downtown vicinity is in a semi-lockdown with a late curfew (mostly to give the late night crews free time to fix damages.) A few SWAT still patrol the city but most are personable and willing to chat it up since all they are doing otherwise is walking around quietly and preserving the peace. Most of the workers (while they know they aren't a danger anymore and were only doing what they were told) still fear and dispise the SWAT to a slight degree which is one reason why they (the SWAT) are open to any social interaction they can get. The Rim of the city is mostly unchanged from the riots, one or two busted windows in all as most of the violent activity took place downtown.

Mayor Orion quickly re-won the faith of the people and workers in striking a quick deal, however people fear what he could do should he ever want to get nasty.. the one major reason why his popularity can greatly fluctuate.

There is a realm we do not know of. We can not see it, but it surly is there. It exists among us, hidden like ghosts roaming around. It is called a spirit realm, for the creatures that inhabit this realm are spirits, or something like spirits. This realm is a horrid and dark realm. Its skies are black with a hint of gray. Its clouds are dark red mixed with black and some dark orange. The earth is colored stone red with hints of dark blue and dark gold. the only thing dark blue seen in this realm are the plants, which some of them are black, showing that they are aged and older, dieing or dead. The dark gold coloring are random streaks that lead everywhere and nowhere. The landscape of this realm is one of a canyon, but with some plants and large fields of woods that are randomly scattered about. Its formed with hills and cliffs, plains and ditches. Though it has the appearance of a desert, the ground looks to be filled rich soil, but this soil is as hard as rocks, therefor, it is very hard to grow plant life.

Most of the creatures that inhabit this realm walk on four legs, but some walk on two like humans. In fact, this realm is very much like our world. It has building structures like ours, homes, buildings, farm houses, shelters, everything in our world, is present in this realm. This realm connected to our world in such a way, that with out our world, this realm would not exists. For we walk among this realm and do not know it, yet the creatures of this realm see us, but through a different view. In this realm we, us humans, are called Ziners. Our appearance is of a foul, horrid, and dead like appearance. It is said that Ziners walk around with their eyes closed and never open them. If a Ziner should ever open its eyes, others will know and begin to attack the open eyed Ziner. These Ziners are violent savage creatures, yet they take the shape and form of us. Hard to say, they are us, but in this realm.

The other creatures that live in this realm are called ZinWolfs. They are large wolf like creatures with fur that spikes together and forms triangle shaped spikes, starting from the neck and reach far back to the mid section. These triangle shaped fur spikes layer upon each other, giving it a fearsome look. Their ears differ from male and female. Female ears do not point straight up at the top, but fold down and back. They are coated with two colors of fur, black and dark blue. rarely they would be coated dark red to blend in with the ground. Theses rare dark red coated ZinWolfs are more powerful and stronger then normal coated ZinWolfs. And the most rarest of ZinWolfs are coated gold with strikes of red. These are the most feared ZinWolfs, as they have strength none can match. A portal has been open into this realm. The owner of this portal is of us, humans, trying to reach the unknown for study reasons. But like all discoveries that have hidden power, they are treated with disrespect and are annoyed by humans greedy for power and money. Tampering with this realm and not taking cautious measures could only result in pure chaos. Which is what happens of course.
