 The European and Japanese divisions have sponsored some great local Sonic contests and giveaways in the past with prizes ranging from autographed game copies to clothing to even character-themed chocolate, leaving western fans with little way to share in the fun.

Now it's our turn to laugh at the rest of the world.

If you live in any US state, DC, or Canada, you are already partly eligible to enter a Sonic fan art contest SoA is sponsoring. Your art submission must depict your favorite scene from any Sonic game. The 20 best artists will have their work featured in Black Knight's fanart gallery as well as be given a free copy of said game. The contest ends on September 19th, so if you plan on giving it a shot, you'd better act quickly.

You'd better bring your A-game as well, because this particular artist will be entering too.

IMPORTANT (AND LATE) UPDATE: Due to my stark negligence of the European Sonic Blog, I'm finally getting word that the contest is open to all three regions. European contestants have until the 26th to submit a piece of art, so all of those who still want to enter will have until Friday to submit their entries to Sega. Good luck and sincere apologies for the short notice.
