So, I had this idea in my head last night : What if I started a topic where people could talk about cars from games? Things like their car preferences, favourite body type, etc. So I thought I'd give this a try. Right now I'm playing Forza Motorsport 2, and I wrok at it.

They're not really cars, but I always thought the craft from the F-Zero games were really cool! |

As I type I have Forza on pause; not Forza 2, but rather the original. I wish I had a 360 again... Forza 2 on Live was the best... Anyways I'm currently using a DC5 Integra, not bad, can be thrown around a lot. When I play a simulation-based game I like to have a very strong front end, and use a combination of power and steering to keep the back in line. I hate understeer like I hate recently banned members - can't stand the ruddy thing. So long as the front goes into the corner, I can control the back. Some people I know much prefer the rear to be solid, but I can live with the oversteer, And if it's in an AE86, it's a fun kind of throwing-cars-around-not-real-tracks

I'm a fan of simlation racers, but not as much as arcade racers. I've owned every Gran Turismo except 5. I played GT5 Prologue at my cousin's and it's awesome. Can't wait for all of the updates this fall and can't wait for the full version to be out. Gran Turismo 4 was my favorite last gen. Tons of awesome cars, great graphics, best physics.... drool... |

Yeah, I have GT4, and Forza 2. Of course, Forza is clearly better, being next gen and everything. But my favourite car to drive, is as always, a Lotus Exige. I usually prefer oversteer to understeer, but I'm not fussy. As long as its not cronic understeer. Of course, I'm just one of those drivers, who will fly around using an oversteer car, have it on the limit, and randomly go off into the gravel. Of course, I also have a few favourite race tracks, such as Bahrain, Monaco and Turkey. Of course, I really wish that Forza would start including tracks like that, and Spa. So I say roll on Codemasters, and the next F1 game, which will be epic. |

Oh, what a great car. I find the cup version to be inferior to the original. My fave car is a 1968 Plymouth Barracuda S. The car is to die for. It's got a great engine sound, and reaches maximum performance under low tire pressure, say, 15 psi. Oversteer is that cars's best friend. It, of course does not have ajustable springs and damping. I found that it has way too much oversteer that way. I have some pics of it. I'll put them up later. |

Hopefully Codemasters can make the F1 game with the quality that Sony has recently. F1 games are pretty fun. Anyway my favorite care to drive would have to be the Cadillac Cien. In GT4... It's just such a cool car with its angles and stuff. |

I disagree - being next-gen doesn't make it any better, it makes it shinier graphically. One of the better driving games around would be the original Gran Turismo(yep, before they introduced cronic understeer) and that's years old. But you're right, Forza 2 is far superior because it injects the fun factor in extremely large doses, just like the first GT did all those years ago. A great plus point for Forza 2 is its AI - in the first Forza, the rival drivers are just a tad aggressive... it's like playing Forza 2 on XBox Live against a bunch of hyperactive 25 year olf Americans who haven't heard of anything other than Skylines and loads of BHP - in short it's all about power and style, and ramming everyone else off the road. |

Played each one of the simulators from GT4, GT3 to FM and FM2. I like em all, what i favor is maybe FM because of the coolness adding your own helpful drivers. Not to hire them, but actually driving against them. That is when you haven't have accessed on online yet so i can't tell my opinion on that case. And apparently my favorite cars would be one of those fancy fast cars. Just because i like the quick reaction they have when breaking and easily handling. Feels kinda like F1.
I would also have liked to see Monaco in Forza. And also i wonder why that mountain track was removed from the first version. Is it removed in true life. Not that i found it amazing, yet a few tracks do seem missing. Edited by DragonFlame, Aug 30 2008, 02:20 AM.

Flying Battery Act 2

Ooooh....my favorite car type is pretty much anything that's small and light. I like the nimble jackrabbit feel of anything light. So...hot hatches, F1 race cars, sports cars (especially small convertibles), and rice rockets. All of the cars below fit into one of these categories... - Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution - Subaru Impreza WRX STI - Pontiac Solstice - Nissan 180SX - Mazda RX7 (FD and FC are both killer) - Volkswagen Golf GTI - Lotus Exige - Porsche Boxter - Chevy Corvette - Toyota MR2 |

You contradicted yourself there a little bit. Next gen does more than give it shinier graphics, it gives it that AI that you like. I played the original Forza and it was pretty good. #2 was even better, even though I have my gripes with the damage system. I'm waiting to see what Polyphony Digital can do with the PS3. They've only tapped it with prologue, so I can't wait to see the finalized product. I wish they would just make one game(Forza 2/GT5) and just update it with DLC instead of making sequels. Idk... It just seems like a cool idea because GT4 wasn't much different from GT3 and Forza 2 wasn't that much different from Forza 1. |

Kind of an old article, but everyone's eagerly waiting for these updates GT5P will be getting this autumn. This article just mentions the damage though...

That's what I was thinking... Gran Turismo 4 would be more appropriately titled Gran Turismo 4.0, considering the newer games are typically the old game with nothing but more content and slightly better graphics. It's why I can't add a simulator to my list of favorite driving games. They always end up getting replaced by the new game. It's kind of like purchasing a new PC. You don't have any urge to use the old one anymore, since the new one will be a lot like the old one except with enhancements. We'll see what this damage looks like too when the update comes... I still like Forza 2's physics model much better than GT's, plus GT is still using those really old tire-squeal sound effects, the last time I watched a video of GT5P. Oh, and not to mention, the 360 controller works very well as a controller for a racing game. I'm not seeing the PS3 beating the 360 controller, considering the PS3 doesn't look that different from the PS2 controller. And the 360 controller easily beats the PS2 controller in driving.
