I'm sure even Amy is sensible enough to know that it was for the sake of his health and not to score. That's another sign that the kiss is more harmless than the fandom makes it out to be; even Amy didn't care. And no offense, but if my own dad is any indication, then I wouldn't trust yours on matters of medical history, especially since you just admitted he isn't in the medical field at all. And I said I couldn't find proof that the disease started in monkeys. I also said how the disease is usually transmitted between people and monkeys. I never said for certain that there has never been a case where the disease wasn't transmitted by sex. Nevertheless, how is this even making a case against fictional interspecies relationships? After all, humans pass STDs mostly between themselves, not from having contact with an animal. If we're making stances on this point, I'd say that humans would be better off not having anything to do with each other! XD |

Unfortunately, there's nothing in the Ten Commandments damning interspecies relationships in the first place. So, back to my prior question, how does the fact that monkeys are capable of transmitting herpes to humans prove your point?

Eh, personally, I think you open up a whole different can of worms when you mention ethnicities, especially since we don't know whether or not a human/anthro combo is possible in the Sonic universe, nor even if humans and anthros really aren't off-shoots or relatives of each other in the universe. Just some food for thought. >3 |

Well, for one, the true origin of herpes in humans in unknown. It was written about by Hippocrates, or an ancient Greek for those who don’t know him. Even the word “herpes” is Greek for ‘creep or crawl’. Scientists believe that the disease has been around since the beginning of the human race. Did it come to us from ancient humans doing the deed with monkeys? No one truly knows. [/I took History of Medicine first semester in college] As for the discussion at hand, I feel that it all depends on how someone sees Sonic. Some could just see him as animal, making it bestiality if he and Elise have intercourse. On the other hand, someone could look at Sonic and see him as a sentient being, who is pretty much, save physical features, a human. This whole thing really boils down to perception. How you see Sonic will truly decide if the "interspecies" relationship is immoral or not. |

It doesn't MATTER that they are anthropomorphic. Roswell Greys are anthropomorphic, but they also happen to be a different species to the human race. Same goes for each individual species of Mobian. Do cats and dogs mate in real life? Okay, sure, I'll ignore the time when my chihuahua tried to sexually assault the cat (*is still creeped out*), HOWEVER it's just plain silly and FAIL to try and 'tweak' the rules of attraction when it comes to different races. Would YOU endorse a Human-Orc Hybrid? Nooooooooooooooooooo, you wouldn't. |

And what proof do you have of that? Has there ever been a plausible attempt to explain the biological relationship between anthros and humans? No, not really. Again, it's very possible that all of the universe's inhabitants could very well be under this unifying biological umbrella that allows them to mate with each other as Fang's parents successfully did. Humans could simply be another ethnicity, and not necessarily an entirely different species. There's plenty of possibilities unexplained here. If it was possible and they (somehow) loved each other, why the hell not? XP |
