hi!me and my friends are making a 3d sonic fan game and we need your help!!! these are the jobs we have!XD models:we need models level designers:we need level designers!!! programmers!!!:we need some programmers to make our own engine scetch artist:we need some scetchartist textures:we need someone who is really good on textures to texture models well those are the jobs if you can help welcome to the team!

This would be best suited to the actual fan games' section. Also, it might help to post more information about what you want your game to encompass-- what characters you want modeled, what are the minimum knowledge requirements for the programmers, what the story and overall atmosphere of the game are so artists and level designers can work on the same page. Be detailed with huge requests like this. It also seems like you're asking people to make the majority of this game for you. What exactly are you going to be doing to get your hands dirty during development? I've seen this from experience and heard it many times: if you're just going to be telling people what to do, it'll be hard to round up a team who will be willing to dedicate enough time and effort to someone who is basically capitalizing off of their work. |

My grandpa told me once: "If you want to give orders to other people, make sure you know to do them too". sonicblue123, do you actually have some sort of programming knowledge? How will you pay to everyone? Do you need specialized programmers and designers, or amateurs are okay? You need to be very specific, 3D games requiere a lot of effort from lots of people. |

Stop spamming, other people have actually got art they want to show, all you've done is demanded help, and spammed. Show us something so we actually may want to help. Personally I doubt your friends are going to do any work, and will leave it up to a poor, trusting talented artist while you gain the benefits. Now show us how you are going to make this game, what programs you want to use, and what kind of engines you will be designing. Or no one will want to help. |

Double posting... triple posting... poor grammar... did you join this forum just to take and abuse our artists and art teams here? Do you plan on giving any credit to anyone? [mental note: shall inform SOTI of this topic...] There's a small list of requests made by members so far, who have a good point: they can't help if they don't know what programs they are using to code up any kind of game. TGF? MMF2? You said Blender; that's just a 3D modelling program with a crude animation part bolted on. I tried using it and thought it was horrible. You can't game with it. So we know that your game has a name and we know you've got a Sonic and a Super Sonic model. Give us more; what sort of program/code are you using to make this? C++ ? If I'm being deadly serious you don't look like you're capable of doing this for yourself, and I don't see why anyone here should actually help someone who's joined for the wrong reasons, without any decent kind of incentive with which to aim for. You got a plot? A level design on paper at least? A rough idea of what sort of levels should be made? Answer the questions the members have politely put out here, and with a decent amount of detail. If you just basically want everyone to make a game and then just run off with it without actually putting any thought into it, then I wish you the best of luck... What SOTI means, is that the form of your posts are not formatted in the proper manner. You must notice that everyone else uses proper form as we do. You must use correct punctuation (periods at the end of sentences, commas to split up concepts, etcetera). You must use correct capitalization and spelling. Otherwise we won't be able to understand your message, or it will probably go unnoticed. |

Ah! I can't stand the bad grammar Now that we've gotten that out of the way;
You need us to do all of this? You can't do a single on of these? I'm sorry if I go hard on you, bit I'm in the game development field, and each and everyone one of these things is a pain to do. I sometimes kill myself over 2-D games, let alone 3-D? Do you guys have anything done or did you just make up and idea and hope someone would make it for you? Its not as easy as clicking on 5 buttons and clicking "Save AS". 3-D are mostly raw coded, which is a huge pain in the arse! 3-D Modeling is just as hard. You have to make every single little frame while keeping everything perfectly symmetrical. Theres a lot more to but, I don't feel like getting any deeper at the moment. If you have people do everything for you, how is it your game? What exactly are you making? You should at least code the engine yourself. I recommend you use Basic4GL for this. Also:
What... did you just say? Im awestruck with that post. Sorry to flame you, but it pains me every time I see someone post stuff like this about making a game. Its serious work! Everyone thinks they can make Sonic games with the click of a button. Start out small, like with Game Maker or RPG Maker and work your way up. You can't expect to make 3-D games the minute you start. First question. Who the **Bleep** are you? You just joined up to demand for help? Not the way to do ANYTHING. Nobody even knows who you are, and they certainly aren't going to help you make some fan-game which you thought up with your friend in five minutes. I am going to be hard on you for the rest of this post, so please, by all means take this the wrong way. So how did you even get this idea? Have you even thought out wtf the point behind it is? Or did you just play sonic on your wii and had the brilliant idea of making a game JUST LIKE IT! Well, sorry to say, but games like those take about a hundred people to make, and they're all 50x more intelligent than you. I'm not even going to exagerate with that. Which brings me to my next point. How long have you been on the internet? Obviously not long enough to even READ THIS FORUM'S RULES. I'm not going to recite them, but I'd highly suggest checking them out before making yourself look like more of an idiot than you already are. And you're probably what, 12 years old too? Don't even try attempting a game on this scale at your age. Maybe in a few years once you learn to code. But in the meantime, I will give you some advice. Download GameMaker. It's a 2D game making program which could easily make a Sonic game just like on the Genesis. With it, all you have to really do is make the code. Which with GM, isn't very hard at all. Graphics and music have already been ripped, you just need to know how to use google. And if GM overwhelms you, go and look for a tutorial on how to use it. Even you, with your in-ability to spell should be able to understand it. See, I used to be like you too. Hell, probably just about everyone here was. And... Most of them still are, lol. I thought I could make a 3D game too. I never once asked for anybody to do anything for me though. Which was your first mistake. And your continuing mistake for this entire thread. You don't ask for help unless you know what you're going to do. And by posting saying "I need a modellerz0rZ plx help me wanna make a game with me?" Is NOT what you do. You give an explanation of what your game is going to be, and what you want to have done for it. And don't even try to say that that's what you did. Nobody here is stupid. Seriously, make a 2D game where you'll actually have to make, and you'll have fun doing it. And please, don't just ignore this post and say "lol wanna help me make mai game?". I WILL kill you. Also; /FACEPALM Link to GameMaker. Click on MAKE, then GameMaker 7.0, Then download. Direct link to Tutorials. GameMaker may be hard to use once you first get into it, but after reading those things, you'll be able to make a really cool game. Sonic Sprite-sheets. >_> If you fail to follow those simple instructions, you are beyond help. But I basically just provided you with a full package on how to make a 2D Sonic Game. It's up to you what you do. But I would HIGHLY suggest going 2D. Discussion may continue kthx. |

Sonicblur, please stop for a moment and think this through. 1: Do you actually have the resources and ability to make this game? If not, then don't bother. Move onto something that you can actually do or start learning how to make games (if that really is your thing) by starting off SMALL. If you started this 2 years ago and you haven't made any decent progress, shelf the idea until you can come back to it and do it WELL. 2: What grade are you and why are you passing your English classes? ALWAYS put a space after the end of a sentence, whether the end of said sentence is a period ( . ), an exclamation mark ( ! ), a question mark ( ? ) or any other punctuation that I've neglected to mention for some reason. ALWAYS begin a sentence with a capital letter. See? Just like this. It's not that hard; all you have to do is hold the Shift key once every now and again. 3: Double and triple posting is against The Rules here. The only time it is permitted is when you are bumping a topic to add an update. Bumping to attract attention is not the done thing around these parts. 4: Flaming is also against the rules. It can help out a lot, but instead we are ignored and you go back to the same way you were before. We can just pull these things out of our ass.
