Sonic: able to reach the speed of sound Super Sonic: Able to go faster than the speed of sound Tails: Multiple tails Miles Prower: It sounds like miles per hour. Knuckles: I have no idea maybe his spikes on his knuckles Shadow: a "dark" version of Sonic; mysterious and shadowy Bunnie Rabbot: A bunny and a rabbit and a part robot Metal Sonic: Sonic-shaped like metal robot Robotnik: Polish for worker, works on robot [nik] Eggman: Flies in an egg shaped pod Iblis: In muslim mythology it means a demon or devil Solaris: Might be a reference to solarism, I don't know. Chaos: Generally unleashes pandemonium Chaos: The opposite of chaos. Pronounced differently Bean the dynamite: throws bombs. Mighty: Is very powerful. Charmy: charming Rouge: a red cosmetic; strangely, she does not wear rouge Scratch: a candy-like food for chickens; Scratch is a chicken Grounder: Those hands could probably ground stuff pretty well. Tikal: The largest mayan city that had the same history as Tikal's tribe. It got ruined. Thats all I can think of off the top of my head. Anybody can add to the list if they wish.

Roses are flowers often associated with romance Hyper Sonic-- Denotes a state greater than Super Espio-- Espionage; spying. Fang the Sniper-- Has an exposed fang and uses firearms; also part wolf. Pachacamac-- An ancient Peruvian temple; Tikal's father Omega-- The last robot in the E-100 series Cream and Cheese-- A food pun. Cream is also arguably cream in color. Jet-- Very fast Wave-- Deals with flight; able to surf on air currents Storm-- Strong; destructive in nature, intentionally or otherwise Silver-- Silver in color Blaze-- A pyrokinetic Darkspine Sonic-- A form that dwells on negative emotions; dark in color Marine-- Lives by the sea and wants to be a ship captain. Sonic The Werehog-- A feral form Although you mentioned a few Archie characters and robots, I'm not going to go through all of those characters. That's just way too many puns and references to even bother listing in one sitting.

Well, considering Rouge has expressed interest in her looks before and is arguably the character that upkeeps themself the most, I would consider them both easy cases to make, even though a rouge isn't a thief. A rogue can potentially be one, though. XD

Its nice that their names having some meaning behind them, and besides, their from Japan. In japan nearly everyones name means something. Also one more, and surely the hardest one to get. (had to look it up) Vector - a vector is a direction in math terms, which refers to his ability in knuckles chaotix to dash in 8 different directions.

You think it was specifically referencing that particular physics term? After all, Vector was conceived and named as such long before Chaotix even came to exist. To be honest, I don't know Secret Rings' story well enough. My guess was based hearsay-- that Darkspine transformed using only four of the rings which had negative connotations. But still, you have to admit the guy sounded pretty damn vicious during the boss fight. Noting that, I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss that Sonic was much angrier than normal.
