LMAO!! She's plump, powerful and ready to cause more controversy than "SuperSize Me." She's Fat Princess, the star of Sony's upcoming video game of the same name. Debuting at last week's E3 expo, the colorful Fat Princess is a capture-the-flag game with a twist: you can thwart capture attempts by locking the once-thin princess in a dungeon and stuffing her full of cake, thereby increasing her girth and making her harder for your enemies to haul back to home base. According to popular gaming blog Joystiq, two feminist gaming sites have already voiced their displeasure with the weighty issue. Feminist Gamer's "Mighty Ponygirl" rings in diplomatically, suggesting a new way to play the game altogether. "Instead of running out into the forest to find cake to fatten up the princess with, why not go out and find gold (which is a lot heavier than cake) to stuff into a treasure chest. The more gold in the chest, the heavier it would be, and the harder it would be to carry," she said, before adding, "Oh, but that's not as "cute" as cake and fat chicks. Right." Over at Shakesville, however, writer Melissa McEwan cuts to the chase, telling Sony she's "positively thrilled to see such unyielding dedication to creating a new generation of fat-hating, heteronormative ---holes." Sony has yet to issue an official response, although Joystiq did receive a particularly informative update from James Green, Fat Princess' lead art director, who clued gamers in on the origins of the game: "Does it make it better or worse that the concept artist (who designed the look, characters, everything) is a girl?" Hmmm...hope the game's detractors don't mind eating a bit of crow. |

So.... because the game has an obese character, we're automatically going to play it just because we hate fat **Bleep**ers, right? OMG this is JUST like Grand Theft Auto - I've played all the games in that wonderful series, now I just go out and steal a car! I watched Power Rangers as a kid - ergo, I MUST go and ninja someone's arse! The main problem with the type of women that hate this game are that they're narrow-minded, and they hate men. I'm serious, obesity is a topic almost considered taboo these days - strange when you consider what we can do these days in a video game. Is it so wrong to tap into a new type of entertainment, so long as it's tastefully done? Anyways, feminist movement. They think men should treat them better; they should get more respect because they're women, blahblah. Now I'm an open-minded guy, but these gals need a slap - in a modern day society, this is sexual inequality at its finest. And before any women come along and say "it's about time we had some sort of upper hand over you a-holes" then consider this: this is the 21st Century. Aren't we all meant to be equal, and put this sort of mentality behind us? Clearly being equal isn't enough for some. To keep this on-topic a little ^^;;; do we know what format this was pencilled in for? Sounds like a PSP game. |

Theses people just need to cool their jet's off and stop their complaining. People are always looking for something to complain and moan about just to stir up some trouble over nothing at all. If you don't like it, then don't play the dang game. Don't go start moaning about it all over the place. Goodness. |

I'm a gamer and always will be a gamer. If you don't believe me. I have 430 Video Games and 19 Consoles. I doubt you could beat that unless you are a gamer as well! =P So, let's see if you can outdo "The Jet Gamer"

I agree with Tails Fanatic. don't like it, don't play it. I think people like to do stuff like that when they're bored. remeber the Mass Effect controversy with Fox? people go out looking for trouble and they find it. then they complain about it. |

I think it's kinda funny though. You have to feed the princess cake to make her fat so the team will have a hard time capturing her.  Sounds like an interesting twist on Capture the Flag.

Yes, it might be an interesting concept, but just like every game, there is at least one person that seems to have some complaint about most popular game. I don't get why people can't just shut their mouths and not play the games, but instead they complain the makers of the game and to the public that it offends them. If it offends you, don't look or listen to it, and it won't offend you. |
