*ahem*...FALCON PUNCH!!!
I only know people who got 3 red rings, i never heard of 4...He sent his 360 to microsoft and got a new one, the only downside of that is he lost all his data. By the way, your 360 looks really weird without the face plate on.

Uuu! You scared me there. But serious the 360 is sensitive and you should take something to sweep all over it carefully so it won't fly something into the hard drive. Yet, that ain't the only problem i think. Well anyway, i have had one ring. Dust problem. That's it. I had it for half a year and it's still works like it should. Yay! for the arcade version. No, i really don't know what's actually causing these red rings of death. If they could give you a good answer then maybe you could figure out how to avoid getting this sort of problem even more times.

Actually, the first RRoD I've gotten was about a week when I first bought it. <<; I was playing Dead or Alive 4, and..right as I defeated Alpha [The boss], the game just froze, and..surprise! Red ring. D<
I've gotten the RRoD twice. My first time happened in the EXACT same way. so.. I guess DOA is a pain in the 360's arse.

I've seen the four red rings once before a few weeks back when I was wanting to play something and nearly panicked seeing that. I didn't want to send it in for repairs when I've barely used it that much really. I finally found out it was because a cord was unplugged behind it and I was like *falls over*. I didn't know it did red rings for unplugged or loose cords though. It went Green right after I plugged it back in.
I'm a gamer and always will be a gamer. If you don't believe me. I have 430 Video Games and 19 Consoles.

I doubt you could beat that unless you are a gamer as well! =P

So, let's see if you can outdo "The Jet Gamer"

Word of caution: Do NOT get the intercooler. Microsoft will make your warranty null and void if you do. And in the case your 360 does crash and you send it back, you get 1 month free Xbox Live Gold subscription. Also, I belive if you call tech support about lost memory and downloads, they will help you get it back.

I never got a red ring of death. Reason for that, I don't have a 360. But Blue Screens of Death on Windows XP, I can tell you a lot about those. Y'see kiddies, back in the day we had something called the SEGA Genesis to play Sonic on. We never worried about red rings of death or anything like that because these were rock solid consoles. Also if anything messed up, all we'd have to do is pull the cartridge out, clean it off with a breath or (better) compressed air, and also do the same for the slot. Presto, bingo!

And for the computer (which usually had DOS), we had General fault reading disk in Drive A: and it'd ask to Abort, Retry or Fail. Abort usually didn't do crap, Retry sometimes worked and Fail...well....failed. That's the granddaddy of the Red Ring of Death. But at least you had a chance to fix it yourself with SCANDISK, or The Norton Utilities' Disk Doctor.

Ah, the 90s...DOS, DOOM, System Shock, Sonic, Virtua Cop and Bill Clinton.

An awesome time.

All that was.
4 Red rings means your 360 has gone to a better place, where red rings are just a fashion style...

But I'm sending mine back for a different fault already before this happened so they'll probably think they've done it, lol.

Edit: At the age of 13, i was born just in time to enjoy the wonder of the un-kill-able genesis! I threw it at a wall in a rage once and it still works!

Edit 2: Did you know if you install both AVG anti-virus AND Norton anti-virus, your PC will blue screen?

I got thrown off my bike carrying one I bought in its original box, and I literally flipped over the handlebars and landed face first, but the Genesis...not a scratch.

1. If you have an earler core xbox 360 system.
2. If your xbox has the hatachi disk drive.
3. If your xbox has a samsung disk drive.
4. if you use an intetercooler.

these are the main reasons for the red ring of death.

my xbox preium and elite had never had a single problem.

pretty much the older the xbox model the more prone it is to the red ring.

also.: Core systems are allmost 88% chance of at least one ring of death
