All that was.
has anybody else had an Xbox 360 and got the red rings? I have, twice, I got 3 red rings and sent it back to Microsoft, they fixed it, the same 360 has now just given me 4 red rings, I've taken off my face-plate so you can see better: Posted Image

Not yet for me, but since our hard drive crashed, its kinda like the Red Ring of Death, only your 360 works.

4 Red Rings? Before you send it back, read the instructions! 4 means something different, I believe.

And I've had the red rings once - We had to send it back. It's got a problem with ejecting the disk, but all in all, it's working.

I still can't use this.

That was the reason we sold our first 360 (we sold our second, bar the HD from the first and a few games for gas money <3). It went out during a hearty round of the Blue Dragon demo just when we nearly cleared a full section in the appalling time limit. Yes, my relationship with the 360 has been full of disappointment to the point of being abusive, but hopefully we'll be willing to give it another chance and shape up when Banjo, Unleashed, and Gears touch down. Huh? What's that post above me say?

Actually, the first RRoD I've gotten was about a week when I first bought it. <<; I was playing Dead or Alive 4, and..right as I defeated Alpha [The boss], the game just froze, and..surprise! Red ring. D<
If someone asks me if I'm enjoying life, unless it's something really unforgivable, I can't help but answer that I am. No matter how much despair there is, I'm satisfied with just living...Just being allowed to be here really is a wonderful thing.

Ktimleck to the rescue! 4 red rings? You're in no trouble. All it means it that the cords aren't connected properly. My dad got that on his second day with it because his cords were loose. No need to send it back. :D I hope that clears it up for you.

What's bad about the color red on a ring?

For 360, it means your 360 has crashed or as Ktimleck says, "Not connected properly".

Our has only has 1-4 of a red ring.

Well I have never had this yet, I got the 360 when he first came out till now, and there is still no problems, want to know why? ;D

Well first, I always clean my 360, It's just to keep it clean so that no dusk will come around it, than I will put something above it, (My 360 has all my hats on his XD) It's a way to just be sure nothing happens to your harddrive. I know there are more than that and I do want to explain, but now I have to go, Rainbow Six 2 calls me <<

I haven't gotten the red rings yet, I bought an intercooler for the 360 to prevent it from happening, there only 20$.

I got the four red rings once, I didn't think anything of it. It was obvious for me since the TV wasn't showing anything. I checked the cables, the rings went away, and off I went to play Halo 3.

I bought an intercooler and my 360 has been running smoothly for a long time. So yes, an intercooler helps. The large intercoolers from Pelican are great, but you can't have any more add-ons because it takes up the whole back end of the 360.

Even the Elite is prone to it. It's an engineering flaw. The Elite runs as loud and as hot as the original system. Just no RROD's have been reported about the Elite

I thought the intercooler just made the overheating worse...

The thoery with the intercooler is that it cause the xbox to draw more power, use more electricity, and as a result, creates more heat than it cools.

To be honest, if you bought an xbox before they started making the ones without probelms, then you want yours to break. My xbox couldn't remain on for long hours, and would often just give up and show a disk error.
Of course, 1 in 9 xbox's have faulty trays that cause even more probelms, and mine was one of those nine.

But seriously, after your xbox is repaired, it should work 150% better than ever.
But man, if yours was returned and broke within a few weeks, contact xbox, as there is a warranty with that situation. By phone of course, their e-services go nowhere. Trust me.
