Inside the ship, a conversation was taking place. "Do you really think they can figure it out?" a purple Echidna asked, straighting the Captain's hat she had just removed from atop her friend's head. "Listen, this guy is suppose to be an expert in the Arcane. The Soul Swords should fall under that catagory right?" Her friend, a brown Hedgehog, said, taking back his hat. "But... Purifying an powerful object like Soul Calibur..." The Echidna thought aloud. "Hey, if he can't do it then he can probably point us in the right direction at least." a grey Wolf said upon entering the cockpit where his comrades were conversing. "Tom is right. Now... We just need to find them." the Hedgehog, Jack Sparrow, re-assured the Echidna, Danielle Moonstar, putting his hand on her arm. "Okay..." Rachel rolled her eyes and smiled as she mouthed the next line in time with Tim's complaints. "I mean, it gets stuck to my fur and everything! Couldn't ectoplasm-spitting ghosts just drink a little water or something to dilute the stuff? It's just unneccesary!" "You'll get it off sooner or later, Read, calm down," Rachel called to him, "Besides, it's not like it's bad for your health or anything." This cheered Tim up slightly. "I guess..." he replied. "That's the spirit. No pun intended." To this statement, Tim answered with a mere groan.

BIC: The three anthros made their way into the hangar of their Gummi Ship, the Black Pearl, where their custom Arwings await to be launched. Sparrow's arwing, Masamune, was brown with black boosters. Dani's Arwing, Sweet Memories, had pink boosters with a purple body. The Wolf, Tom, had grey Arwing with blue boosters. As they reached their personal vessels and entered they radioed each other. "You guys ready for lift-off?' Tom asked. "Yep!" Dani replied cheerfully. "Here we go!" Sparrow said as he pressed a button, causing the hanger door to open, "You remember to put the ship on Auto-Piolt Tom?". "You know it!". "Launch!" Jack yelled as the Arwings were dropped into the sky, "Activate engines... Now!" all three pressed a button starting their ships. They flew a few laps over the city before resuming conversation. "Which way to this Timothy guy again?" Dani asked. "Tom should know. Tom?" Yeah... Gimme a minute. Gotta get the map..." Sparrow and Dani facepalmed.

She was scribbling down ideas and snatches of lines for a poem that had suddenly sprung to mind, describing the huge tree in the front yard. She paused, then looked out the window. Tapping the pen on the notepad, she absently gazed at the sky for inspiration. "Huh, interesting..." she murmured, "I thought the air show was next week... hm." She tapped the pen on the notepad again, then blinked. "Wait a minute. That's no air show... Tim?" "Yes?" Tim called back. "Does parapsychology cover aliens?" "Yes. Why?" "Well, I wouldn't typically ask, but it's just that there's three wierd looking things in the sky..." "Where?" Tim asked, abruptly appearing next to her. Rachel looked at him for a second, then frowned. "How did you mnage to get that stuff off, get dressed and end up here in less than ten seconds?" Tim wriggled a finger in his ear, and shook his head. "Magic," he replied flippantly, "Where are these things again?" The vixen pointed out the window and Tim looked outside. After a moment's thought, he shook his head again. "Well, it's got me stumped," he concluded, "Not a clue."

"Here we go!" the Gray wolf said, pulling a map from underneath his seat. "Okay... It's marked here with a red X...". "Great... You don't even dress like a pirate and already we're sterotyped..." Dani sighed. "Whaddya mean?" "Nevermind that Tom, just look at the map and tell us where we need to go." Jack told him. "Alright... It's this house. The one with a tree in the yard. Can you see it?" "Roger. Okay team, pull it in for a landing." And with that the team proceeded to land in the yard in front of the house Tim and Rachel were in.

Then another. Then another five. Slowly, the two foxes peeked out from the top of the sofa, their eyes half-concealed behind the furniture. "Should we go out and say hello?" Rachel whispered. "What if they're hostile?" Tim whispered back. "Oh don't be silly, not all aliens are here to destroy the world." Tim crawled across the floor towards the window and hugged the wall beside the window, peeking outside in a wannabe-Solid-Snake sort of manner. Yes. There were definitely three fighter-like ships on the front lawn. "Okay, Rache," he said, "We'll try and sneak out the b- huh?" He suddenly realised that Rachel was gone! --- Rachel stepped outside, gently stroking the concealed grapnel in her glove with her ring finger. "Hello? Is anyone there?" she called to the three ships. Come to think of it, they didn't look that alien at all...

The first to stick his head out was the wolf. "WE COME IN PEACE!" He shouted, holding his arms up towards the sky. Jack was the next to appear, "Quiet you!", He threw a random shoe at Tom. The shoe hit his team-mate in the face, causing the Wolf to fall back into his Arwing. Sparrow then proceded to crawl out of his ship and help Dani out of her's. They approached the white Vixen with an inquisitive look. "Would you happen to know a Timothy Ulysess?" Dani asked cheerfully. Tom meanwhile, joined them and handed Jack the shoe, "Here ya go bro!". Sparrow sighed and threw the shoe behind him.

"Well, providing it defies mundane explanation, I can certainly take a look at it. Please, come inside and have a seat." He gestured for the group to follow him into the house. "I just have to grab my equipment and we'll have it examined."

"Tom Turner... the Wolf, I guess. Why are we adding our species to our name again?" "Because it sounds more professional." Dani whispered to him.

"Well, I guess you know my name. This is my friend, Rachel Harding. Ah, excuse me..." With that, he disappeared into the basement. "He's always vanishing into that workshop slash library of his," Rachel chattered as she picked her notepad and pen off the floor, "And he'll always come back up with some new bit of trivia. He's got a head for facts." Stuffing the stationary back into a drawer, she sat down on an armchair and sighed with exhaustion. Tim re-emerged not long afterwards, stumbling up the staircase with several instruments sticking out of his pockets, large pieces of machinery in his arms and wires and cables tangled all over his body. "I think I've got everything," he grunted, "Although it's a little bit heavy..." He carefully set the machinery down and had a half-minute battle with the cords before he had set himself up. "Right," he panted, "So, this object? May I see it?"

He then unwrapped it, revealing it to be a thin silver sword, with a demonic eye on the hilt that swiveled around to get a good look at the room and it's inhabitants. "What do you make of it Tim? I can call you Tim right?" Sparrow asked.
