And what do I mean by this? More than once in recent weeks I've tried to say hi and stuff to new members, and all I see is bickering! Flaming! Outright idiocity!

In most threads in this section, you can see someone mention "we used to be the friendliest forum around..." so what's it going to take to get everyone to actually start being nice? Because clearly nobody respects the staff here when we ask you nicely to stop being horrible to each other.

As of now, if you're not saying hi to a new person in the intro threads then quite simply, don't bother posting. We ARE a friendly forum dammit, and we're not going to let silly replies to threads degenerate into the recent mess that's been visible to one and all.

And if we can be nice here, then maybe it can carry across to the rest of the forum.

I apologise now to the vast majority of members, the above won't apply to you. It's just a shame that the minority seem to be spoiling it once more for everyone else. I don't wish to offend anyone by making this post, but it's about time that action was taken.


Let's not get off topic this time. How can we improve. Easy simple question without the unwanted discussion that turned the topic into what i would say is serious and haven't gotten anything to do with what the topic were supposed to.

 I say that to be a better site, we should stop jumping down people's throats about one fight, one flame, one mistake, unless it is huge and blatantly against the rules.
Like calling someone an idiot, an atheist, or double-posting. If this is the first time, like, don't everyone get on them. Seriously, you could make someone cry with that stuff.

This is really the only way I can see us improving the atmosphere. If the member base truly wants to regain the title of friendliest forum, then it will be everyone's jobs to simply shape up their attitudes and learn how to start respecting and trusting one another again. There is no magic solution for an issue such as this that requires everyone to work together over a long period of time.

@ Hyper: I've seen people say that the mod team is strict and that we get on everyone for one instance, but the thing is I haven't observed this myself. In fact, we let you guys get away with a lot more crap than we actually could. We don't hand out warns just for forgetting to dot your i's and cross your t's, but continuous infractions of a rule do warrant some type of intervention, don't you think.

 Sonic blast is probably the largest actively populated sonic forum on the net. So of course we can expect some trouble makers to come along. But if we join in, flame, and start acting at their level, then who are we to complain when your being just as bad.

We should just ignore people like that, and if they get out of hand, we have a great team of moderators here to deal with any problems that may arise. There are so many members here who would defend this forum to hell and back.
Whenever I joined, this place was as it said "extremely friendly", and its part of the reason I've made it my e-home. So I agree, we need to just ignore the small nuisances, and enjoy this places.

 @BlizShadow: Yeah, that's what I'm saying. But I consider it bullying for everyone and their brothers to get on one person about a mistake, because I've witnessed it happen. But I don't think you guys are too strict or too lenient. Just somewhere in the middle. Sonic Stadium is too lenient. SoaH is too strict. We are in the middle. And that is good.

Hate me cause I rob your house on a daily basis, hate me cause my car can actually be called a car instead of a rolling turd, and lastly, hate me cause my IQ is actually HIGHER than a shovel, frankly, I'm amazed you can read this. Anyway, don't hate me cause I'm better than you, hate me for the reasons I just listed.

P.S. I'd list more reasons, but someone as pathetic as you probably would reach this point and run into the corner, break down, and cry.

If you mean the non-religious person kind of atheist, i could start a war over that cause I'm the exact OPPOSITE of religious, but i didn't, and if everyone followed this example, that includes me, then the forum would be friendlier.

 First of al, that was just an example. Secondly, are you saying that if everyone here disregarded religion, then this place would be friendlier?

I will dipose of that while still staying on topic:

I believe that this place would be a butt-load better if people like him stopped saying things like that. End. of. Story.

 Good, neither was i, and that's how it should be to make the forums more friendly, maybe members should try to stop flame wars by informing the mods via PM to end it or close it? or maybe, i people MUST fight, do it over PM and stop bothering others?
