"I think we're destined to do this to each other forever"
*Bump* My predictions for this movie has come true!

Quote:

On Sunday, Warner Bros. Pictures estimated that The Dark Knight had earned $155.3 million its opening weekend. Turns out, that was low! The final figures show that Christopher Nolan's Batman Begins follow-up took in a record-breaking $158.4 million over the Friday-to-Sunday frame, easily beating the $151.1 million opening of Spider-Man 3 in May 2007.

I have seen this twice, I went on saturday, got REALLY bad seats, front row to the right, eek. I'm going to see it again, as my sister wants to see it and she'll pay for my tickets. WEWT. But the screen is so blurry in the front row, it was just awful. thank god I get to see it again, I don't want to remember the move like that.

But their are rumors already for the next one, the director pretty much hinted that The Riddler will be Batman's victim next. Which will be awesome IMO.

My father was... a drinker and a fiend. One night he goes off... crazier than usual. Mommy gets the kitchen knife to defend herself. He doesn’t like that, not one bit. So, me watching he takes the knife to her, laughing while he does it. He turns to me and he says “WHY SO SERIOUS?”. He comes at me with the knife “why so serious?” He sticks the blade in my mouth. Eh, The Dark Knight is more of a movie you should see in theater/IMAX to fully appreciate it. The sound quality/big screen is meant for movies like this.

Bowie-I WAS going to see it in IMAX, but my uncle said he did, and he said our IMAX is just horrible and old. So I'm just going to be seeing it in regular theater again this sunday.

Saw it yesterday with my friends.

It was good. The action was nice, and the special effects were well done. It took the whole movie, but Batman's gritty voice grew on me, as I didn't see Batman Begins, although I just may now.

Joker was decent. He had some clever tricks, and really caused some chaos. I really liked his escape from MCU, or whatever it was called.

The story did kinda jump around, and the beginning was kinda shaky, but overall it was pretty well written.

Worth the price of the movie ticket.
i think sawnik is a pretty cool guy

Hmm... point point point point.

Oh... My... **Bleep**ing... God...

I'm not even a DC fan and I loved this. I saw it the day it came out.

It's official, I've seen every super-hero movie this summer.

Yeah, this summer had some great super-hero movies.

Iron Man
The Incredible Hulk
Hellboy II
The Dark Knight

The Dark Knight was definitely the best movie easily/obviously.

I think DC is alright, mainly just because of Batman and his villians though.

If the sequel does happen, I just hope The Riddler has a dark, complex, story. I'd like to see the mind games he has with Batman. and hopefully it IS The Riddler who will be the next villian. and maybe Bane taking over the Gotham Underworld, that'd be cool.

Hellboy 2 as a great super hero movie? XD Yeah right! That movie was horrible! Anyway, The Dark Knight does look really good. I am probably going to see it this weekend. :]

You're spot on, at least to me.

My uncle refuses to see this movie in theater, because of Heath Ledger being "The Joker" and because of the chick who plays Racheal Dawes, and because of all the hype torwards it, he said the movie "sucks, and heath ledger won't compare to Nicholson"

Eugh, he pissed me off when he said that.

I don't understand people like that but w/e.

There are people who will be supporting Jack as the Joker till the day they die, and to be honest he is the best living fit to the true Joker. HOWEVER the Joker in this movie was much darker and had a mind even more so warped.. if the Joker was needed for the next Batman movie then I would definately look into bringing Jack back if he was up for the job. BUT Heath fit this style of Joker better than I believe Nicholson ever could.

Lets put it this way.. at least if he comes back he won't have the slicked back, cartoony, neon green hair again! ^^

As for Hellboy 2, I loved that movie.. it was my second favorite hero movie this summer followed by Iron Man, then Hulk and finally Hancock.

Yeah, I mean I think Nicholson's take on The Joker is great, But Heath's is way dif as you basically said, I don't really want to compare the two because their both different takes on The Joker, but personally I found Heath's to be way more entertaining and more psycho. I mean he has you laughing at things you'd never really laugh at.

But for Batman 3, I'm hoping The Riddler, and Bane are the villians. The Riddler can play mind games on Batman, while Bane takes over Gotham Underworld. I just think it'd be cool to see him fight Bane. But who knows what's in store for the next Batman film, if their is one, which I really hope their is.

You can't count the Joker out of the next movie since hes not dead but he obviously wouldn't be the same, and I know some people who would love to see the Penguin in the cast XD .

Whatever happens you have to ask yourself this.. where can this series possibly go from here.. this to me is the greatest movie ever made and that makes it extremely hard to top. And Hollywood has a history of weak 3rd installments in movies... the only films to ever escape that void were Star Wars Episode 3 and Pirates 3 to my knowledge. So.. I say if they bring back Nolan and keep the cast intact, they have the makings for AT LEAST a solid followup.

Yeah, It's going to be almost impossible to top The Dark Knight, but if Nolan comes back to direct I think he'll do great as always. But Nolan pretty much dis-missed The Penguin and Catwoman as future villians. He's made it pretty easy to tell he wants The Riddler as the next villian. Quoting him:

"Maybe we won't need to re-cast The Joker because we'll have The Riddler."

Who knows. I think Christian Bale is definitely the best Batman ever though. I think most of the cast would return for another movie.

But if they did re-cast The Joker, I could see either Nicholson coming back, or possibly Johnny Depp, yes Johnny Depp, he's creepy enough isn't he? rofl, or he could be The Riddler. I'd lean more torwards The Riddler though.

Some people think they should move into the next movie with Batman being way older. If they did that, it would almost fit for Nicholson to come back as The Joker.

Ok, I saw this yesterday.
Heath Ledger blew my mind away with his take on Joker.
That will be all.

Some people think they should move into the next movie with Batman being way older. If they did that, it would almost fit for Nicholson to come back as The Joker.
Understand tho, Jack has aged better than most.. and with Hollywood CG and Cosmetic miracles on hand, you could make him easily look young.. all though under that paint, Heath looked older as it was.

Jack could easily turn from traditional Joker into a darker more complex one like the one Ledger played, I've seen him do it, and do it well in other films.. it would take a bit of time for him to slide into the roll sure, but all it would take is a darker version of his usual self and some jaw slapping between some words.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dqAvubu70Yc

My comment: You can't compare the Jokers.. both were perfect for the times they were in.. but here is something I want you to think about because it MAY happen. Take Jack.. paint him up similarly and then see what you think.. I know he can act a more psychotic Joker from his performance in The Shining, Both were perfect, RIP Heath.. you were spectacular.. but if Joker is needed in the next movie.. even if just for one scene, there's no one better, who is still alive, than Jack.

I watched that vid and thought to myself.. could you take Jack.. paint him up similarly, and make him act as Heath did. We all know Jack can be just as psycho and sociopathic as he can be funny, I could see him filling the roll. I hear people put him down for things that are out of his control.. his lines, his makeup... You could see it in his face, he has what it takes.. all it would take is a little improvising.

As for the Riddler, I could essentially them using his current persona in the comics. He's less of a villain now and more of a detective trying to put Batman to shame, with everyone after Batman, they'd go to him. Kind of like a larger scale version of the Joker situation.. instead of the mob turning to the villain.. everyone does. That would be not only more realistic, but pretty compelling if done right. But I don't see how you cannot re-cast the Joker after making such a bang.. if a villain that bad isn't dead.. he AT LEAST has to make a cameo just for consistencies sake alone, IMO.
