Woah crap. One of my former characters in a comic.

The comic looks like it has potential actually, but host at smackjeeves. Clearer.

Either of those text styles would work, but the "No box" style will fail if there is a brighter background.

If you use the "Box" or "Bubble" text styles, make sure to leave a little gap between text and the edge of the space. Plus, with those styles, you can change the color of the text or the space its in to show who is talking, usually by matching the text with the most dominant color of the speaker... Or just stick with the tail.

You are improving, all you need now is a great plot... Oh wait, you might have that. XD

(BTW, Phantom is awesome.)

Apologise in advance for the needlessly sized images, but here's a step by step guide, made just for you:

  • Before starting out at all, please make sure that your select tool has the transparent option, as seen below:

Now you're ready to get started.

  1. Start by typing out the text you want to appear in a speech bubble:

  2. Move the shortest lines of text to the middle, so that the text is centralised:

  3. Make your bubble's body using the rounded rectangle tool:

  4. Select your text using (you wouldn't have guessed it) the select tool, and then drag it outside of your bubble's body:

    Posted Image

  5. Make your bubble's tail by connecting the ends of two lines together:

  6. Erase the outline of the body where the tail is:

  7. Double click one of the colours on your pallet, and select a white colour. Then, drag the slider on the far right down a very slight amount. This is done so that when you are placing the bubble on your comic, the white will not become transparent.

  8. Fill your speech bubble in the colour you just created. You can actually notice that my white has become a very pale grey - however, you should try to make your colour as close to being pure white as possible without actually using white.

  9. Select and drag your text back onto the bubble:

  10. Drag your speech bubble onto your comic:

    And now you're done!

I hope you found this helpful.
  • Alternatively, if you want a pure white bubble, copy these steps without filling the bubble with the pale grey, but fill the background of the bubble with one of the colours on your pallet:

After that, right click the colour you used on the pallet, so it becomes a background colour:

    Good luck. :3

If anybody wants to see this later, I'm putting it in my blog here on Sonic Blast.
