Sonic Adventure DX; Quite annoying...

Good evening, gentlemen. I'm not sure if this is where I should post this, but it's the only area I found.

I'm having a problem with Sonic Adventure DX for PC. The CD runs correctly, the autorun works, and all the rest. However, it won't install. I install it through the autorun menu, I run the setup.exe in the disc, I even tried installing it through the new program installation in the windows control panel. What's strange, it worked the first time I installed it, but after that, I formatted my HD, and when I tried installing it again, it just wouldn't. Even now, in this new computer, it's the same.

I'm running winXP SP2, and I also tried running the setup in compatibility mode. Still no change.

I'd be deeply thankful if any of you could help me.
Best regards.

Oh wow. I'm not sure... I have XP SP3, but I installed it in SP2. It worked fine.. What message does it say when trying to install?

No message. It just doesn't run. And, strangely, I also tried changing the set unicode system back to western, and deactivating Xp Anti-spy. Also, in the other computer, I was running SP2 as well. I tried getting another disc, but it did the same thing, so nothing's corrupted.

Something very similar happened to me with my Viva Pinata game. I tried it on my new laptop, then it let me download it only half way, not fully (so I couldn't play it). I think it could be something to do with a firewall (not positive though)...

Hmm, just tried it, and it didn't work. I dunno, maybe I'll try to find some way to extract the files without using the setup...

Not enough memory maybe? You need more RAM if so. Wow, I'm ten and I get this stuff...
Well, I can't buy SADX for PC due to lack of RAM.

Inconceivable. First, I have 2MB of RAM. Second, as I said before, in the other computer, I could install it for the first time, but not again after formatting it, without having made any changes to the memory.

I really wish I could find an answer for you, but when looking on Google this page comes up. XD Have you looked at the disc? Is it scratched? What about drives on your PC? Are they all installed? Have you reinstalled them after wiping your HDD?

Googling's no good, I only ask when I sweep google and my other sources until my hands are bloody.

It's not the cd, it was dowloaded, and I tried getting another one, which had the same effect, and reinstalling the drivers is the first thing I do after installing windows.

Well, in that case, I deeply apologize for disturbing you. It WAS pretty improbable that I'd get the answer I was searching for, since it's such a rare problem. And I thank you, gentlemen. Even if you couldn't answer, I thank you for having at least tried.

Downloaded. I see. Maybe a No-CD patch could fix it? Idk, I vaguely remember having this problem as well. Although I reinstalled windows too and it worked.

Actually, it already comes with a patch for the game. However, the problem isn't with running the game, but with installing it. I've also tried re-creating the image without the patch. I tried emulating it with daemon, I tried burning it in a cd, but the future refuses to change.

Did you check if it's the firewall or not? If you have one, maybe turn it off and try the game.

When I said this, I was talking about the firewall. 'Twas a pity, I thought you had hit the mouche when you mentioned the firewall, but it wasn't it as well...

This is a stretch, but just closing a firewall program(that is if you have one and not Windows firewall) doesn't shut down the program. It could still be running in the background. CTR ALT DEL > Processes and see if a firewall program is running still.

Just making sure. I was just thinking the firewall could have something to do with it, but I was not guaranteeing it.
