What do you think about the logo? Previous: Would you like this game to stay exclusive to the PSP? How hype are you for this game? Do you think Clank's gameplay is too much like Sly Cooper's? What is your SAC wishlist? What do you think about how HIG is adding multi-purpose and spy-like twists to Clank's weapons? What do you think about Qwark gameplay? Do you like the idea of a mostly Clank game? Story Ratchet is thrown into the galaxy's most atrocious jail, for apparently stealing a gem titled "The Eye of Infinity". Knowing and wanting to clear his friend's name, Clank embarks on a journey in his Secret Agent persona, alongside a secret intergalactic espionage agency. Along the way, he'll meet new people, learn new skills, and discover a vast mystery surrounding the Eye of Infinity. Characters Gamers will have a chance to play as three characters: Clank (mainly), Qwark, and Ratchet. Clank, the sarcastically brilliant, imaginative, and secretly secret robot learns to push up his true potential, and goes upon the galaxy with his Secret Agent Clank inner sides. It’ll be his first solo adventure. His gameplay will feature stealth and immerse action. Qwark, the bumbling wannabe hero jumps in to steal the show. Working on his biography for a strange reporter, this time he’s ‘helping’ Clank on his quest. Qwark too will find the hero within him. Qwark's gameplay will be based off his odd and false scenarios as he tells tall tales. Ratchet: As a trans galaxy acclaimed hero, Ratchet the lombax is thought to be the opposite of a criminal. This however, changes when a mischief is blamed on him, and we see our hero to be locked down in a prison. Ratchet has to play in an arena-style, fighting off with standard platforming and shooting. The Warden is the character that's supposed to help Ratchet, but ends up unable to do so. He does, however, deliver special packages to him. Darla Gratch makes a minor return, being the classic news reporter she's always been. Environments and Levels In a galaxy full of variety, Clank will find himself traversing numerous and exotic worlds. The vast majority of the worlds haven't been explored before. Neon Metropolis- The hustling and bustling signature city of Neon Metropolis is one of Clank's candidates for the Eye of Infiinity's location. Clank will explore the floors and tippy tops of Neon Metropolis, where Qwark will also battle a dragon boss. Artificial History Museum, Planet Boltaire- Holding a rare, historical, and mysterious Eye of Infinity gem, and as on Planet Boltaire, Clank will stab through various security assemblies in this level, including laser fields, tankbots, and searchlights. Jack of All Trades-“Jack of all Trades” is the name of Jack’s (a legendary gambler) home and headquarters, featuring casinos, movie scenes, and blacktops. Ratchet's Prison Level features an arena-style with Ratchet trying to get out of it all. Some challenges include Karmic Beatdown, No Shelter, Past Due and the Mega Challenge. Planet Asianica is a world housing a thriving blackmarket and mysterious company. Glaciara is the planet with lots of icy slopes and dangers. Weapons What heroes in the Ratchet and Clank universe wouldn’t have weapons at their disposal? Clank, Qwark, and Ratchet will each have their own weapons. CLANK's Clank’s weapons have a more strategic and spy-like set of elements to them, yet still keep the behind-kicking feel to them. Some will also have a multi-purpose set of turns to also make them gadgets. Some of his can be found in Agency DropBoxes. -The Cuff Link Bombs offer a new way to handle enemies in a bombarding manner. They can be lain as proximity mines or be deployed as on-impact nades, and as a gadgetry purpose, weigh down pressure items and large buttons. -Bouncing off every enemy, able to chop off obstacles and laying out bridges, the Bowtie Boomerangs or Tie-A-Rangs will be handy dandy to Clank. -From Clank's collar, The Tanglevine Carnation, a carnivorous flower, can be deployed to devour enemies. -The Blowtorch Briefcase is Clank's flame-inducing weapon. -The Thunderstorm Umbrella is a weapon that unleashes heat-seeking rays of lightning at enemies. -The Holo-Knuckles are Clank's powerful versions of his hands. They pack punches with quantum and pulse. -The Black Out Pen Torch serves as a security disabling gadget that is used to block lasers and get enemies stuck temporarily. Qwark's Qwark’s weapons will have the classic hero twists to them, ranging from the standard lasers to types of rays. Qwark's weapons will also be upgradeable. Ratchet's Ratchet's weapons will have the classical destruction sense. Most of his weapon upgrades come from winning Prison arena challenges, rather than full frequency. -Given from a cake that Clank sent him, Ratchet's Lacerators make a return, as the standard blasters. -The Walloper returns as well, as a powerful, quantum punching glove. -A Shard Gun is the icy shotgun that Ratchet wields. -The Electro Rocket Launcher returns, shooting vast shocking rockets. -Ratchet also has his Bee Mine Glove, which unleashes a hive of destructive bees. -The Pork Bomb Gun is Ratchet's morph gun, that makes swift enemies waddling pigs. -Ratchet also regains his Plasma Whip. -The Mine Launcher from Deadlocked makes a return, deploying seeker mines. Unconfirmed -Missiles that can be thrown into the air and come down to seek foes have been apparent. -Qwark will have a blue laser pistol and a vacuum-concept gun that, you guessed it, sucks up objects and has them deployed (similar to Suck Cannon from previous games). Gadgets and Vehicles ~Rocket (Jet) Boots allow Clank to thrust and zoom himself across gaps and fields, stomp on enemies, glide superiorly and dodge quick obstacles. ~Clank will also have an Amphibious Hovercraft that he uses to chase down foes and goons through space, across seas, and other landscapes. ~A Snowboard will also be at Clank’s hands, letting him zoom through various on-the-rails paths. ~The Holo-Monocle is a device that Clank uses to take photos of enemies and circumstances. He can also use it to taunt and attract them, along with taking them to his own disguise. HIG’s Quotes DEMO “We have been working on a demo for Secret Agent Clank for a while now. The demo will include two, maybe three, exciting segments.” -Leviticus Davis, Assistant Project Manager; PSP Mega-Interview "Yes, we will have a demo, and it'll be playable through PSN." -Lesley Mathieson, GDC GameSpot Demo Interview Single Player Only “Secret Agent Clank is a very story intensive game with lots of unique gameplay elements. We have decided to focus our efforts on the single player game to make a really engrossing experience for the player. There is no multiplayer planned for this installment of the game.” -Dave Goodrich, Lead Designer "For Secret Agent Clank, we'll be focusing solely on the single player experience. As reward for our efforts, you can expect to see even more gameplay and content in Clank's PSP debut, than were in the previous Size Matters (And that's saying a lot, to be bigger than a game with the subtitle, "Size Matters"!)." -Avery Bennett, Designer, Gamepro Decmeber Interview "Clank’s gameplay is radically different from what it was in the Ratchet & Clank series so we really needed to focus on it being a single player game. Maybe in future installments we can include multiplayer." -Lesley Mathieson, Siliconera Chat Improvements and Utilization and Origins "Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters turned out great and we're all proud of what we accomplished with it. But at the same time we wanted to see how far we could push the system, story, gameplay, sound, and art with our new title. We're definitely working very hard on it and hopefully the fans will like the end result." -Jeff Parrot, Environment Artist, GamePro December Interview "There's always stuff you want to improve, so there's been a bit of tinkering here and there. It's mostly the same engine we used in Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters, though. We were really happy with it." -Jason Skiles, Lead Program Engineer, GamePro December Interview Gameplay Elements "The Ratchet and Clank series really hit upon a perfect blend of combat and platforming, that was only refined in superb sequels like Up Your Arsenal and Size Matters, to name a few. For Secret Agent Clank, it's safe to say we'll be staying true to the series' platforming roots, while adding a ton of secret agent-themed gameplay as well." -Avery Bennett, Designer, GPro December Interview "In Secret Agent Clank, your array of spy gadgets and weaponry has been kicked up to the max, but you'll still see his melee and Gadgebot roots in places. Clank has upgraded his old punch attack to an array of "Clank Fu" martial arts moves and silent kills. You'll also see his Gadgebot companions come into play in several situations to support Clank when a few extra hands... rather, pairs of legs and mouths... would come in handy." -Avery Bennett, Designer, GPro Dec. Interview "We wanted to add unique gameplay to the Ratchet series for Clank, making him more of an action hero than in previous installments. For example Clank has to flip, duck, and perform acrobatics through a field of security lasers to sneak into a museum or dance a deadly tango with a femme fatale which leads to an exciting down hill ski chase... Just to name a few new and unique things for Clank." -Dave Goodrich, Lead Designer, GPro Dec. interview Enemies and Bosses Robotic Canines are sub guards for some places Clank will explore. They pack a metallic bite. Police Bots or Robo-Cops are equipped with lasers, small missiles, and searchlights. They are the main security foes Clank will face. Ninjas, what could any secret agent do without them? They return with blades, whips and sabers and are sure to cause trouble for Clank and Qwark. Slopegunners appear in a snow level, chasing and trying to obliterate Clank while snowboarding. Hoverdriods are enemies that float to Clank, trying to destroy him with their standard weapons. Platterbots are enemies based off of the Training Bot design of Size Matters. This time, the enemy is armed with long rifles. Prison Inmates are some of the enemies Ratchet encounters. They include reapers, tyhrranoids, and Thugs-4-Less goons. Tankbots are similar to Robo-Cops but in a more vehicular style, and with heavier fire. Police Elites are tougher and more durable versions of the Robo-Cops and Tankbots. Casino Guards are smaller versions of the Robo-Cops, yet are due more to a crime reference. Pincher Mechs are enemies that are armed with an appendage that grasps onto Clank, along with a small blaster. Bosses One boss has Qwark battling a green dragon in Neon Metropolis. Jack, the most famous gambler and crime lord in the galaxy, owns a casino and gets to be a fat problem to Clank and Qwark. Things featured in boss battle with Qwark: -Jack will arm himself with fiery and accurate cards, fists, and overhead missiles. -He also lays various mega bombs in the floor to cause a step-on-me challenge. -A Clank chase on Jack himself (where Jack cuts down structures and objects). Other Information -Players will also have the fun of getting scores while playing the multiple button and brain minigames. NEW!! -Clank’s gameplay will be the most abundant and provide stealth, strategy, and action. Qwark's will be based off of stories that are twisted in his own ways. Ratchet’s features will be classic with weapons and gadgetry, in an arena style. -The demo will be availavle early summer for PSN. -The game will be longer than Size Matters, according to Lesley Mathieson. -Ratchet's wrench mods also make a return. -Clank can also grab various disguises. -Clank also participates in explosive table trickery segments. -Gadgebots will also be well included, but it'll be more different than previous segments. -Clank will have upgradable powers and will master Clank-Fu, which allow him to dodge lasers, traverse masers, and perform sneak attacks on enemies, along with other goodies. -Interactive cutscenes will be included, ranging from his laser smoothing segments, to those of where he gets trained and where he hides in hard nooks. -Secret Agent Clank and Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction will have connectivity for special content. -Secret Agent Clank will feature NO ONLINE OR MULTIPLAYER since High Impact Games chose to extend campaign. -Still have that old Size Matters save file? If you do, you’ll be able to unlock other content. -The pre-production for this installment started weeks before Size Matters was released, and full production when Size Matters was released. -Qwark has different costumes, some red, others the regular green – this could be armor. -Clank will be able to transform into Giant Clank, in which he can soar through skies and man a new superweapon. -Dancing segments will be included in the game, where Clank will show off his groovy skills and impress ladies and doormen. |

Wow, this looks very interesting. To tell you the truth, the whole secret agnet thing in Ratchet and Clank 3 kinda irritated me, because they'd just thrown it in and the whole unfairness to Ratchet was a bit much. Still, this looks very promising. I like how we're going to see some Quark action as well; as a recurring character, he'd have to get a playable part at some point. Overall, if this goes along the lines as Size Matters, I'll be waiting for it on the PS2. I can't be bothered to buy a PSP at the moment.

Qwark was kinda playable in R&C 3... I've no PSP, so I can not get it. Looks awesome. |
| Indeed, there is nothing more repulsive than these monsters that defy nature and are known by the name of witcher, as they are the offspring of foul sorcery and witchcraft. They are unscrupulous scoundrels without conscience and virtue, veritable creatures from hell capable only of taking lives. They have no place amongst decent and honest folk. | |

Yeah, I guess, but them VC comic things weren't exactly full playable bits like the rest of the game was. They were really just annoying mini-games. |
