Tails is a crazy bad@$$ mutant. Serious, Tails is awesome. But Sonic himself is still my favorite character. So therefore, I am captivated with Sonic, not Tails. |

It's an indescribable attraction, almsot like thinking about mangets when you're a five-year old; you can't explain how they do it, but they work. |

Seriously I am behind Duckroll 100%. Why do people get so exited ? I mean I usually want to puke when I see something like ''OMFG SUPER INTELLIGENT FOX WHICH COULD BEAT UP SONIC AND KNUCKLES EASILY''. And people two things. When creating a fox character DO NOT CALL HIM **Bleep**ing PROWER cuz that's like calling a fan character Sonic or Shadow. And do not recolor, but that goes to all fan characters. also the last thing NEVER EVER EVER link your fan-character to official character it's just bleh. Back to tails case, he's smart and all and he sonic's sidekick/follower/god knows why is he always following him. But so ? He whines all the time about ''OMG SAWNIK I can do it ! '' Ya I understand that might be typical for an 8 year old, some people might consider him cute which might be the case but NOT STRONG/FAST/BADASS D:< That's all I've got to say, respect my opinion.

Tails is OK. I like him because he's cute, not because he's a genius. I do not agree with people saying "Tails is uber bad arse!!11!!!!" because, no, he isn't. Tails was meant to be the cute, smart, sidekick. Not the badboy of the fandom. And I agree with MOD, lets all try to be nice. I hate seeing fans fighting each other, makes me hate the fandom in general which is sad because alot of you are really nice.

I don't see why people have problems with who other people like, remember Duckroll,(and everyone else) different people have different preferences, so you really can't say wether a character is cool or not, only too yourself can you really say that, that's why I think it would be simpiler if people just said they liked him, rather than him actually being "cool" |

Let's not go off topic here... And Zal, Ducky was expressing her own opinion that it seems people like Tails for being badass and whatnot when he's an eight-year-old Einstein yet how he got that way is never explained. She never hated on anyone, except maybe the people who put Prower as the last name of their fancharacter. |

Amen to that, Cy-fox excepted, of course. Anyway, I think that younger teenagers (say, 7th-8th grade or so) tend to enjoy his character because he best represents the insecurities and feelings of inferiority represented by the age, but despite this, he remains happy, cheerful, hopeful, and determined. This is something that insecure children with inferiority complexes of their own can find hope in. This sort of innocent likability, with such simple yet ubiquitous themes, is entirely lacking in the other characters. We all feel like we're being left behind in everyone else's dust, and so it's easy to empathize with him. Plus, alot of people just like the high-tech element to it. As for the genius argument... Come on, we've got a hedgehog that can run at supersonic speeds with no problem with the friction, a maniacal super-villain who can build entire fleets from dirt, despite being otherwise fat, well-known and hated, incompetent and stupid; we've got a pink, female hedgehog that can pull a hammer from no where and smash titanium-lined robots out of the visible stratosphere, a rabbit that can fly with her ears, emeralds that can provide power to even the most monstrous and unrealistic machines, talking animals, sentient robots that somehow develop sentimentality and feelings of hate and vengeance, and a big lump of water that somehow is the benevolent demi-god of chaos and cute little bobble-headed aliens called Chao. Poetic license doesn't even begin to cover it here; yes, as a matter of fact, writers CAN say that a fox, who shouldn't be able to walk or talk or wear shoes anyway, is a genius with the knowledge and experience of an educated engineer. It's not that big of a stretch. If realism were an element in Sonic, As for the sprite, I think this has more to do with the fascination that anime-fans have with canines (Just think Naruto), and the fact that Tails is the only easy-to-use dog/fox sprite on the web. Plus, just because you don't think he's cute doesn't mean other people can't. I think he's kind of cute... He's not exactly adorable, but he'll do. The sprite is a lot cuter than the actual character, IMHO. |

I really don't see a reason to go around and bash Tails. Especially with underhanded, nonconstructive arguments like MNR presented. Yeah, sometimes fancharacters get annoying when they claim family ties, but there are some out there that are very well crafted, and all that's needed is to look past the stereotypical views. |
