A quick hop into the Magical Machine to restore both his health and his clothing, and Quartz was on his way once again - stopping briefly to reclaim Llorena and to slap Whisp for his troubles. As he stomped towards the arena in a slight huff - head slightly itchy - he shook his head and hoped that this time out his opponent would at least try to fight fair... From having looked at the bracket, he was up against a gent known as Kiyel, who'd not fought his first fight owing to his opponent forfeiting. Therefore, the echidna hoped silently, he could well be rusty. This ought to be fun. He paused to readjust his poorly fitting hat - something wasn't quite right with the way he'd prepared it - before going in. Once again he walked through those massive double doors. The crowd burst into applause upon seeing the noble and vain lilac echidna pirate, along with some whistling and whooping. They had remembered how he had made his previous opponent look a tiny bit silly. Quartz looked around. This arena was another circular effort with no corners, no roof on it and identical to the last one - save for the fact that there was obviously no great chunk missing out of one of the walls... As he walked into the arena the doors closed behind him. He bowed a couple of times and shook out his sleeves, to show there was nothing hidden up there. A huge grin appeared upon his face as he went to take his hat off. Sitting on his head was a cute little bunny rabbit! As the audience awwwwed in sympathy, he walked up to the edge of the arena and passed it to a little girl who was watching. "Cheer for me, kiddo," he said with a wink as he reached over and grabbed a spare chair from the crowd. He now began his second walk to his starting position, about a third of the way into the arena. Once arriving at the designated spot, he placed the chair on the ground, and waved to the excited audience to hush down. Eventually, the place was silent. Sitting on the chair, Quartz pulled out a newspaper and started to read it. Him arriving early was becoming a habit - he might as well pass the time by filling in the crossword. And he needed everyone to be quiet. "4 Down: A period of waiting, defined by T-something-M-something..." Quartz said quietly, waiting for his opponent to appear. |

Kiyel sat upon the top rim of the arena and watched this show off please the crowd with tricks. Kiyel just stared at him, not realyl focus, but in deep thought. "How can he be so cocky. He has no idea who he is up against. I wouldn't want to draw so much attention from the crowd, as that may draw distractions. What ever I do. I must not become angry." Kiyel thinks to himself. He then leaps off the rim and soars into the air, casting a slightly large shadow upon Quartz. Kiyel suddenly dives down towards the center of the arena and lands softly on one knee and one hand. He fully stands up and stares at Quartz, not saying a word or giving him any friendly gester. |

[YOU'RE my opponent? o_0 this could get funky] As Quartz pondered, a shadow loomed overhead. Looking upwards he saw something... Or someone, he mused - his outward expressions reading ignorance, inwardly he knew it was... "TIME!" he exclaimed, bouncing up from his seat, knocking it over. He quickly scribbled it down on his crossword, before watching his opponent land. He just stood there, watching and waiting. Waiting. Quartz dropped the newspaper, and swung his right shoulder out a little, to bring Llorena forwards and into his grip. "You took a while," the lilac one called out cheerfully. "Shame you blocked out the sun like you did, I could have gotten a tan if you'd taken any longer." His expression changed a little, his eyes becoming more focussed and his grin more determined. "You're here at least, which can only be a good thing. One winner, one loser. One standing, the other becoming another victim..." Dropping to one knee - exactly like last time - he brought up Llorena and fired a single shot, extremely poorly aimed as it was so quickly aimed towards Kiyel. He hoped this guy couldn't do magical teleporting like the last one, he might have a chance to get off one more shot before switching toys. "IT BEGINS HERE!" |

Kiyel did not smile or flinch. hearing on how he stopped his tanning didn't bring a smile to his upon his face or even anger him. Hearing a shot ring out, Kiyel quickly dives to the floor with his hands and arms out, having the bullet graze the back of his shorts. While diving to the floor he quickly preforms a front handspring with one hand while launching a throwing star from his right bottom shoe, completing the front handspring which makes him land on his feet in a crouch position. |

Staring down the scope on his rifle, Quartz was too focussed on his foe. A funky little flop to avoid the first shot, then a massive-ish leap to allow his opponent a window to throw a metal star - as the lilac one was so busy studying his opponent, furiously wanting revenge for blocking the sunlight, he had no idea that Kiyel had sneakily thrown a star at him. The first sign he had that it happened was when it hit him. As Kiyel was moving so quickly, he hadn't put much effort into aiming and the star tore straight through his left shoulder - or rather, the padding on his robing. His actual shoulder was fine, but the clothes went up in a cloud of feathers. Quartz paused for a second to observe the fact that his shoulders were padded not with the finest of persian furs, but ordinary duck feathers. He had actually been ripped off when buying this robe! This second of vanity was enough for him - if his clothes were cheap, he didn't need to worry about that until after this fight was over. As it happened, his slight hesitation meant he could only aim properly for one shot - as it happened Kiyel was crouched down. It meant his leg muscles were coiled and ready for any potential dodging action, but as Quartz pulled the trigger whilst the crosshairs were aimed at Kiyel's torso, he mused as to the possibility of somebody outside of The Matrix actually being able to dodge bullets - they were **Bleep**ing quick for crying out loud. [To clarify, from my two permitted actions per turn - one is spend musing the fact my clothes are actually cheap and tacky. The second is spent firing at your chest. An excellent post on your part by the way, I sense this is going to be a fun fight for both of us ^_^] |

Kiyel, in crouch position, reaches back and grabs a hold of one of his ninja knifes as he glared into Quartz's eyes. "I am quick, as the wind. but even the wind slows down... Then let me be different then the wind." Kiyel thinks to himself knowing that going aganist someone with bullets would be hard. "I have to get that gun out of his hands. for a close range fight. I will not last from afar." He thinks more then suddenly launches himself high into the air towards the sun's bright lights, knowing he would be out of sight with the blinding sun beaming down. |

Quartz saw the opponent jump up high - somehow he had indeed managed to dodge the precision-aimed shot, and was now jumping high. Luckily for Quartz the foe blocked the sun before, and so it happened once again for Kiyel jumped high. The light that was meant to blind him was blocked out by Kiyel, and also the rim of his hat flopping over his eyes gently. "So you're the black blob blocking my tan..." he spoke quietly, switching weapons and stance - as his sniper rifle went away, out came Daikatana. Instead of crouching, he was now standing and anticipating any aerial attacks that might be made - but knowing that some opponents think that far ahead, one of his knees remained bent so as to allow him to deflect a low blow easier. |

(sorry for not reacting to your character shooting me. I read things quickly since I'm limited on time on the school computer.) As Kiyel soared above Quartz, he felt a cool but slightly warm liquid stream down his lower leg. "blood? could that shot have hit me?!" Kiyel thought but did not want to check on how bad his wound was. he soon felt the sun beating on his back. "It does not matter. Stay focus and do not become angry. now to disappear." He thinks to himself then back flips backwards now falling gently towards the ground, releasing his second ninja star while unblocking the sun, letting the suns rays shine bright. out of the suns rays Kiyel takes out his second ninja knife while landing in a crouch postions, but this time, balanceing him self on both feet instead of one and arms crossed his chest, still holding the two ninja knifes. "If my ninja star hits atleast his gun, that will give me more then enough time. if it atleast moves his poistions, perfect time I must have, and speed as well." Kiyel notes to himself |

[It's all good. I love the way you eventually notice - a genuinely nice touch XD] The lilac one kept focussing on the dark dot in the sky, slowly getting blinded by the surrounding light. To aid his vision, he bought his left hand up to better angle his hat. A slight extension to the blobby mass, a glint of light, and a very loud ding from his right ear. "WOAH" Quartz exclaimed as the ninja star struck the stock on Llorena. As the rifle was already holstered to allow space to draw the rapier, it was sitting quite comfortably on his back. The star was embedded in the wooden stock - not far enough to be called stuck, but too far to quickly rag out and use again. Quartz continued to watch his opponent as he landed on the ground, a puff of dust coming up. Now's a chance to get closer, he thought, blinking his eyes a couple of times to try and get them back to one hundred percent efficiency. Holding his sword so the tip dragged on the ground, the lilac one began to run towards Kiyel in a zig-zag fashion. He knew the two stars had been thrown but his opponent still had some throwing toys left over. As he zigged and zagged he bobbed his body up and down too, just to aid with any difficulty that Kiyel might suffer from in aiming should he throw whatever he had left. |

(thank you! I try atleast. you inspire me MOD!  )Kiyel just kept on balancing himself, not moving and glaring at Quartz. He watches carefully on Quartz's movement and how fast he moved. though the zigzanging was easy to follow, for it is an old ninja approach. "Good. I now have enough time. once he reaches me I will have an opening for a strong strike. The only that could have me miss this attack, would be my fault on rushing the attack and missing all together. I do not see that happening though. It is to close of a range to miss for some one of my skills. If he was farther away, then I'd be facing a mistake." Kiyel rambles in his mind to keep him focus and steady on Quartz. waiting for Quartz to strike. |

[Ninja??? OH NOES I'M A PIRATE XD] Kiyel failed to take the opportunity to strike. He merely stood there waiting for the lilac one to cover the ground between them. A thought struck Quartz - one that wouldn't sit too well with himself in a few seconds time. As Quartz got closer, he evaluated his options - he could do a running slice but his back would be open for a counter-attack if Kiyel dodged. He could go to skewer his foe, but again a simple dodge would leave the echidna in a position whereby he would be unable to avoid a return blow. He could jump... Nah, he mused quickly, lilac echidna can't jump. There was but one option open to him - the dirty one. He frowned as his feet beat down upon the dusty floor and carried him nearer to the one thing that would annoy him majorly... He was within range. Immediately Quartz went into a roll, in case Kiyel swung out with his own weapon. His clothing got insanely dirty - the one thing he was trying to avoid! The next part of his plan was utilising the anger to lash out. Whilst still on the floor he swung horizontally with his sword, aiming to slice the opponent's knee. The upside to this manoever was that he was able to dodge or parry any immediate strikes that were rained down upon him - but any follow-up moves after the slice would be hard to avoid, as Quartz would have to bring his sword back across his person to defend himself. That and he was on the floor.... the horrible, filthy floor... [To clarify - one move to get closer and roll, a second to attack. Stretching things a little but if you want me to edit it I'll do so.] |

(nah its cool . and I saw that ninja vs pirate rp. to bad I can't join it though. not enough time, as I would have Kiyel and Captian Hex in it. ) Kiyel did not move or strike. in fact, his expression seemed to be blank. as Quartz rolled towards him and sliced at his keens, Kiyel did nothing, not even flinch. As the sword sliced Kiyels knees open, instead of blood, white powder rushed out. Soon after, Kiyel explodes into white powder. "Now is my chance. Be quick as the wind, and fearsome as a tornado." Kiyel thinks to himself. He suddenly fades into appreance behind Quartz but slighty above him, about a foot of the ground. He slices down towards Quartz with his ninja knife and using his right arm, keeping his left arm ready with the other ninja knife. |

[Did you just shaft me with a nasty move that I of all people approved?  NICE]As Quartz slit his fellow echidna's limb it disintegrated. Son of a crap! he frantically thought as the entireity of Kiyel's dark fur turned to a fine white ash, almost like talcum powder, and blew around randomly. He shut his eyes, but not quickly enough to prevent some from getting into them. That and his clothes were getting dirty AGAIN! The lilac one had no chance to react to this as the real Kiyel appeared behind him, chopping into his shoulder with one of the ninja knifes. It then dawned on Quartz that he had underestimated Kiyel gravely - the move just performed was a ninjitsu skill, to deceive the opponent and lull them into a false sense of security. Llorena had swung about a bit from the rolling, allowing the darker echidna a clean blow to his right shoulder - the blade dug in, and chipped his shoulder blade. He wasn't using that arm again for the duration of the match, that much was certain. Standing up quickly and instinctively from the pain, Quartz roared out in agony - the crowd equally matching his pain with their own cheers. Right arm's useless... he thought quickly and angrily. The blood would ruin his white robes, no doubt. Turning his head to get a brief glance, he could see Kiyel behind him holding the knife. Immediately he reacted to his presence by attempting a back-handed punch to Kiyel's face with his left hand, spinning his torso at the same time to gain some momentum. As he did this, he hadn't seen the second ninja knife ready to go - held up, poised for attack... |

Kiyel, seeing that his attack had hit, begins to swing his ninja knife to counter attack Quartz's hand hand to his face. But as he placed his left foot on the ground a sharp pain surged through his left leg and filled his whole body. Kiyel's eyes widen from pain and suddenly lashes out his ninja knife in rage and anger instead of a clean and aimed slice. In doing so he loses his balance as Quartz's hand smacks Kiyel in the face, turning his head and causing him to lash out his ninja knife at Quartz in a wild and raged manner. |
