Ten Commandments of Character Creation

AS IF Posts: 4,604 Group: A Rank Legend Member #533 Joined: February 2, 2007	I. Thou shalt not recolor. II. THOU SHALT NOT RECOLOR. III. (a)Thou shalt not create a character with the sole purpose of it being someone's love interest. III. (b)Thou shalt not make female versions of the male canon characters (and vice-versa) with the purpose of them being a canon character's love interest. Seriously, it's creepy. IV. Thou shalt not take the last name "Prower" or have more than one tail. For that matter, thou shalt not be related to any canon character. V. Honor thy canon (unless you're writing an AU) VI. Thou shalt not borrow heavily from DBZ. VII. Thou shalt not have the ability to out-run Sonic, out-think Tails, or out-punch Knuckles. VIII. If thou must use-eth a hedgehog, thou shalt think up an original spike style. IX. Thou shalt not kill your character's entire family/clan/species. X. Thou shalt be original. Discuss.

While I use a hedgehog with Shadow-style spikes, I most likely would have changed that if I had created Maelic with my current expierience. In fact, he probably wouldn't have been a hedgehog. But I like him this way, and I'm used to it, so he's staying. He doesn't have the Shadow spike stripes, though... But anyway, Maelic is pretty original, in my opinion. Your topic has been Maelic-ified. Enjoy.

My character is 2 sins pretty much, he is very very rlated to DBZ,and I cleared one of his sins by destroying Amy completely from Dark's life. I think he is a bit of a recolor. Not too much though.

If only I had one... I shall ignore C9 for Ysaro and Tim (simply for the purposes of the already-established irony behind both of their pasts) and C7 for Tim (because he has EIDETIC MEMORY, duh). And technically Ysaro is not a recolour, for he has different shoes, sorta different spines and has clothes and technically Tim is not a reclolour, for he is the same colour, but has clothes which instantly shift your attention elsewhere. Hum.
