"Sonic Unleashed" has been filed for Trademark. Could this be the rumored next gen Sonic since November 2007? Lookey here:

Well, I forgot to mention boss count.  That's what is making the stories complex anyway.  And I know the originals had like 7 or 8 bosses, but they were all Eggman/Robotnik in different robots or ships.  Today, there's separate characters like Mephiles, Solaris, Devil Doom, Captain Whiskers, aside from Eggman (two of which are combined bosses in the game that must not be named).  Not only do they have cheesy names, they are not all needed to make a great story.

Those bosses are all final bosses with the exception of Mephiles (Don't know about Capt. Whiskers. Haven't played SRA.), and the rest of the time, you're either fighting Eggman or another rival character. And necessity is irrelevant. A great story can be told in many forms, and if Sega wants to use different characters as bosses, there is nothing wrong with that. And again, the stories are not complex, and the boss fights are certainly not making them out to be. Fighting three or four characters is not much of a divergence from fighting one.

Let me take out my dictionary.
Retard (from dictionary.com):
–verb (used with object)
1. to make slow; delay the development or progress of (an action, process, etc.); hinder or impede.
–verb (used without object)
2. to be delayed.
–noun
3. a slowing down, diminution, or hindrance, as in a machine.
4. Slang: Disparaging.
a. a mentally retarded person.
b. a person who is stupid, obtuse, or ineffective in some way: a hopeless social retard.
5. Automotive, Machinery. an adjustment made in the setting of the distributor of an internal-combustion engine so that the spark for ignition in each cylinder is generated later in the cycle.

I've accepted your POV up until you start using words that aren't needed and are used incorrectly in a slang way.  Read the definitions carefully, then change your word for the future and actually use them with the right definitions.  If you can't use a word correctly or politely, please, for the sake of the English language and the kindness of the people here, don't use it.  And if you're actually calling me this word, watch out for mods because you're not being very respectful.

Firstly, don't patronize me with definitions when I know very well what the formal definitions of "retarded" are. Secondly, slang is not necessarily "incorrect", but rather an informal use of a specific word, in which the word's use in my context was entirely proper and fine because this is hardly a formal argument in the first place.

Thirdly, I am not referring to you at all; just your argument, which is not flaming nor disrespectful in the least. The most I've called you directly is 'arrogant', which is what you genuinely seem to be after trying to tell the rest of us what fits and what doesn't.

You say gameplay is the key, are you feeding yourself into the point that the story is going to be bad?

I have never made any indication that I would push aside Unleashed's story, nor am I even referring to any aspects that are subjective regarding what is most relevant in a game. Overall, the gameplay is most important aspect of a game. It can't be any simpler to grasp. While you make like the stories and may be able to deal with bad gameplay, that is not conducive to Sonic's success, because it's been proven time and time again that his strongest games have all had good gameplay while sometimes possessing a negligible and/or bad story. If Unleashed does turn out have a bad story to me, then I will say only as such, but I will not refuse to give credit where it's due when the story is, ultimately, not the most important thing regarding this game.

I will continue to defend this point as long as you continue to defend yours.  I am making valid judgements based on the information given.  By the way, my whole arguement is based off the idea on how I think the game looks bad so far and how the ideas are so far looking to be not so great.

What information given??? You're arguing about gameplay when we don't know Unleashed's gameplay. You're arguing about storyline when we don't know Unleashed's storyline. You're arguing about nothing this game has presented because technically, nothing has been given other than its existence and a few characters and levels that are present at this time, and have thus blown up the issue because it has a werewolf and a creature you keep incorrectly referring to as a dragon, which you don't like because as you've admitted several times before, the ideas are new to the Sonic universe. As I said before, wait until Sega releases some information before hopping on the negativity bandwagon because there is no gameplay or storyline to complain about as of yet. Better yet, why not make a new topic regarding new and old aspects of the Sonic universe before this thread is derailed any further?

And actually, no you weren't. There are several obvious instances of you blatantly saying that this game would be or wouldn't be or what fits the Sonic universe and what doesn't. But again, I'm tired of derailing this thread and would rather have this argument in private or in a separate topic, so if you reply to this, it will not be acknowledged. I will only return if there is more relevant speculation or Sega releases more information. But otherwise, good day to you, sir.

I don't mind if Sega uses one or two characters as Sonic bosses, just three in one game. Now I'm not saying there will be more than one in Unleashed, but a dragon and Eggman have both been either shown or mentioned. I am not up for the challenge of two separate bosses, I'm just hoping the dragon is on Eggman's side. Even if it is, I don't like the idea and it may not fit into the game for my opinion. Mephiles and Solaris already seemed like they were too much, Eggman should always start the trouble and do the most severe things in the game. That's how it's been from the start.

Calling my argument retarded is just like calling me retarded and just as inaccurate. If I were you, I'd watch out for modes. I have a freedom of speech as long as I'm not disrespectful. And I have not used a disrespectful word in the least. Yes, I may have been arrogant, but I can be, and without the use of harsh words.

According to me, a story is what I find successful in a Sonic game. So saying that it is proven gameplay is the strongest attribute in the game, you may be right, but according to me, it isn't. And so far based on the pics I've seen and given information, the story does not look cool. Now that's valid if I'm basing it off what I've seen so far. What I look for in a game is different than from what you look for, or what anyone else looks for. And I look for a good story.

I may not know about Unleashed yet, but I have seen pictures, and am not impressed with what I have seen. I have seen a werewolf, enough to make me not appreciate thios idea wherever the werewolf is in the game. I have heard of this dragon, another idea I do not like. I don't mind new ideas, but as I've said before, I dislike bad ideas and so far from what I have seen, these are becoming bad ideas. So far this game just does not have the essence a true Sonic game would have in my opinion, again, just based on the pictures. If you don't want to acknowledge my argument, that's fine with me. But I know what I say is valid since I have based my beliefs on the pics shown so far and the known details of the game. So far I don't like the ideas Sonic Team has brought us.

I don't think this "dragon" character is a final boss anyway. Since when has Sega shown the final bosses in the very first stages of the game?

I think they did it for Sonic Adventure 1. I believe the picture of Perfect Chaos in the opening movie was actually a public screenshot. But they haven't done it again since.

Regardless, I don't think it's the final boss either if patterns are holding up. I'm willing toi bet it has some alternate form that will be the final, though, like Metal Sonic, Black Doom, and Iblis did. XP

The link in the above post shows all of the new information that has been given about this game ever since our little diversion. <3

Well, not exactly. I just stumbled onto this nifty little site that hosts all of the speculation and information currently available. Apparently, the playable cast list has been found and you won't believe who will appear:

Sonic (obviously), Tails, Knuckles, Amy, Shadow, Rouge, Cream and Cheese, Silver, Blaze, Eggman, Omega, and Metal Sonic...

No sign of new characters, but my God, the list hasn't been that big since Heroes. But then again, this was found on April Fool's Day, so I'm not really holding my breath.

Well, even though I don't think it's a good idea, I can expect a lot of playable characters by now. I don't think this is an April Fools Joke because that site seemed reliable for all of the other information. But, they probably should know it was a April Fools Day today and they should've delayed this until tommorow... but if this is real, I won't be surprised. If this is fake, I won't be surprised.

I got a question: Can you do the "Super Boost" as it did in the Sonic Rush games?

And n00bish question but has it been confirmed that you can play as the Wolf or that has not been revealed yet?

I don't see how you figure that that is a believe that that is a real pic, cosidering all those character renders are from older games.

Eh, I didn't think it was intended to fool us all by trying to make us believe it was a real pic. I think some guy intentionally made that picture to show us the amount of playable characters without the intention of fooling us. But I guess this is an APRIL FOOLS thenz! ^_^

@ AM8: I'm certainly not against the idea of a lot of playable characters considering this is, after all, a Sonic game even though we've seen a decrease in the main roster since Heroes. But it still strikes me as a very, very, weird roster; almost like a fan-made mismatch, and it's huge! It's made me confused, worried, and excited at the same time. (I'd be more excited if Cream wasn't there. <3)

And to answer your questions, there's a high possibility that there is some type of boost in the game, but no moves have been confirmed. Neither has the playability or importance of the werewolf form.

@ Zal: As I said, today is April Fool's, and I'm not going to hold my breath until confirmation is given. But Sega has reused old graphics and ones from Sonic X plenty a time in their beta pics and screenshots (look at the very first pictures for Chronicles, for example), so for the group picture to look like this at this stage is totally unsurprising.
