It was an understatement to say the bird was excited for this opportunity. He'd never been in a sanctioned match before, but training and past experience with several, shall we say, "fighting styles" had given him a considerably cocky nature and assumed edge, and he was totally ready to give a show. Claude stepped forth into the ring and went forward before leaning back on his tails casually and crossing his arms, slightly exasperated of waiting for his time in the limelight. "So, where exactly is this Sebastian guy now?"

He called towards his friend. He studied his opponent. "So... Claudio, is it? Can't wait to get this show on the road!" Sebastian grinned.

Posts: 6,546 Group: Former Monarchs Member #6,722 Joined: March 16, 2008	Was that trip necessary, he thought, ignoring the pleasantries for the moment as he recovered from the random plane coming in and casually studied his opponent. The first things he noticed? That huge sword he carried and the gun. Ooh, the bird had a fight on his hands yet... "Yes, it is, Dude," he chuckled, "And you're not the only one. But please, allow me to initiate this lovely confrontation." Claude leaned back on his tails as a brace, the feathers buckling under his forced pressure. He then held up a hand almost absentmindedly, and at once, a swirling blue vortex of energy could be seen forming just above the palm. Let's see how fast you are....

Then suddenly, he vanished with speed to fast for Claude's eyes. "Behind you." He grinned, kicking him into the ground. He landed back, sliding into the ground. He pressed a couple buttons on his arm, and his gun came out. "Bring it betch!" He growled. That burst of speed hurt... Better not use so much so fast. ((Sebastian's gun is installed into his robotic arm, so you can't see it.))

XP) Even with his own speed, Claude had no time to turn around and throw the blast before being kicked to the ground hard. Already, the first hit was devastating; it was slightly tough to breathe.... He needed to find some way to defend against that type of speed, and quick. Otherwise, he'd be roasted on a spit for sure. He would try messing with his mind first... "Alright, you Sonic wannabe. If that's the way you want it," he snarled, quickly clasping his hands together from which a crimson light emanated from between. Upon opening them and allowing the light to escape, he had activated Desolation. Maybe being deaf would stop him for a bit; at least long enough for him to wail on him enough....

This guy was obviously very volatile-- unaware of his attack-- and volatile men with guns are never, ever good for the future of one's welfare. But the bird did what he usually did in the face of racing artillery: hopped, skipped, and jumped back and away from his line of fire. Claude would apparently have to be on the defensive in the majority of this endeavor, but that 'birdbrain' knew well enough that Sebastian would have to reveal a weakness sooner or later....

Posts: 6,546 Group: Former Monarchs Member #6,722 Joined: March 16, 2008	Claude hesitantly quit a jump, looking on at Sebastian's abrupt disarming and gesture from within squinted eyes. It seems he had actually managed the maneuver before being disrupted... Sweet! Close range combat may have given the bird some semblance of a shot at this! As he smirked back, he began to charge two blasts while simultaneously walking backwards against his grounded, flexible tails. Again, the appendages continued to buckle the more he pushed against them. Finally leaning back, he lifted his feet off of the ground and allowed the crude orange springs to shoot him forward in a smooth, spiraling motion. What would Sebastian do? He couldn't wait to see....

Sebastian was not going to make this easy, but then again, Claudio was stubborn, and a little water was easily brushed aside. As he continued upon his quick beeline, he threw his first blast through the water to disperse it while using his current motion to break through whatever remained of the now-flimsy barrier. From there, Sebastian was in his sights, and he wasted no time in hurling the second blast for his head. "Take this!!!"

I still can't use this. Posts: 6,546 Group: Former Monarchs Member #6,722 Joined: March 16, 2008	Tossing the sound had disrupted Claude's path and allowed him to more easily regain his footing. From there, he somersaulted a few times before landing back on his feet, throwing his crest of feathers back audaciously and bearing his teeth in grin. The bird was feeling much, much better. Even a person of super speed could be caught off guard, and he, obviously, had been just the awesome guy to prove such a feat. Suddenly, he shook his feathers clear of shimmering droplets, loathing the feeling it had against his sticky, slicked-down coat and shorts. Once satisfied with any tension he'd caused from his spirited nonchalantness, he slid a foot back. "Alright, you pincushion," he chuckled, dashing off towards him once more as fast as his swift legs could muster. Current mission: Get That Sword! That monotone blade seemed to be key to the use of his water powers, and he certainly wasn't intent on being drowned on land today. And he wasn't too worried about being skewered. Four limbs were better than two.
