Well, I just came up with this idea one day while messing around with creating a board... A Guidance Forum. It would contain detailed guides on different subjects, like how to make an effective topic, how to RP, artist tips, fancharacter templates and help, fanfiction writing, how to be less of a n00b (You probably need to re-word that... :/ ), and so on. Guides on almost everything to do with Sonic Blast could be posted here, as well as a summary of the rules and a link to the =SB= TOS. It would be a long-term project to create these guides, but it may help some new members. We could maybe all contribute a guide, Metallix edits/cleans them up, and he posts them? The Forum could even be merged with the Support Forum, having the Support Forum as a sub-forum to where you ask any questions that you can't find an answer for in the guides. You would probably need to make a seperate Suggestion Forum, though, like this, to make it more organized. |

I say nay. Such problems/guides can already be addressed or pinned in the sections associated with the issue, or in this topic. A whole other forum would just add congestion and unnecessary volume. A little subforum for spriting guides etc. might be somewhat useful though. It could be like an arts section, where people would just put miscellaneous guides, not to help people with problems specifically, but just as a sort of art. Education is a practiced artistic skill after all. as a giant project, however, I see this is a waste of effort. It should be an on-going, small, member-run section, created in spare time, like a sort of fan-fiction. In a subforum, an admin would just pin directions, a request section, and maybe spriting, writing, art sections. It would be a much smaller and less difficult ordeal, and in my opinion, much more effective. People don't want to look through a giant forum, or a complicated system if they have a problem |

I think the idea's not bad. It could work well, and it'd be easier for the newbies to find everything. |

This idea has potential to spark ideas similar that are better. I personally don't like it, but it's a good idea. I'm thinking more of something like a "New User's Guide" that explains things to new users that aren't related to a specific topic(IE sprites) and more towards functions of the board. I'm not sure though... |

Self-loathing optimist.

I say just make a new section called =SB= guide, and if there are any other problems that people have that are not addressed in the pinned topic, they could address them in that section in a new thread. So long as they read the rules and made absolutly sure that it's not in the pinned thread. |
