 The shack is back! This thread will be for small discussions similar to what you would have on an instant messenger. Just to get closer to the community with discussionless posts saying, "Hi, I just signed on" or "Yawn, I'm tired today" for example.

All side discussions about your life or anything that can be posted into a different topic with discussion value will be removed and put into their appropriate topic.

I don't mind relationships. Really, I don't. But sometimes I just don't want to hear about every little thing that happens in everyone elses.

Especially when everyone decides to get together here and go on and on and on and on about it. I mean really. Conversations can just as easily be held in PMs.

Unless you have more than two participants. But still.

But it's not like you have to listen to me so whatever.

It's not like you ever listen about the quote trees either.
True but most of the time it just happens.

And I still don't see the problem with quote trees. I mean in all honesty they are usually very helpful to keep track of the conversation at hand.

 Most of the time you're responding to something the other person just said, and if you do somehow forget what you were talking about, it's probably time for a topic change anyway.

 There is a difference between tracking the conversation and dragging it on throughout several pages.

Especially when that stupid double quote tree thing happens in someone's post and then someone quotes the double quote tree. Ugh.

And don't even get me started on quote trees containing images or videos.

I don't see what's so hard about trimming out everything but what's relevant to the post you are making. Delete everything before the post you're replying to or something. Simple.

Small quote trees can be okay, but when they are made of of walls of text you've seen 20 times before they get a little annoying.

@P_S: That's a very good point as well. And with my mind that makes it really difficult to keep track without getting lost...

The problem is people post so quickly here.
There's always '@so-n-so' that you can resort to if it's that hectic. Chances are if it's moving quick enough that the conversation can't be held, PM's would be a better solution.

And lately it's been rather slow, so that's really moot at the moment.
