The basic plot is still kinda loosely put together, but I'm trying to get people to help me.

Long interesting plot.

Civilization is in ruin after a cataclysmic event that took place roughly 600 years in the past, completely reshaping the world. People struggle just to live in this hostile environment and have abandoned relying on technological advancement for sake of survival.

I want participants to decide if the world should be arctic or desert-like. One would have many ice sheets covering the world with few thriving underground caverns and domed cities while the other would be made up mostly of ocean with a couple of tiny continents and small islands, mostly of badlands, mountains, and deserts.

Continuing, this world is inhabited mostly by mutated animals that have gone on a sort of rampage throughout the world. They began to rapidly change after the cataclysm, but continue to do so because of a material native to this world called Terracite. It creates a sort of energy field that stimulates the mind and body to a certain harmonic tuning, causing the awakening of various powers within every living thing. Too much exposure however leads to a sort of insanity created by this mineral, further leading to an addiction to more of its power and mutations causing life forms to take on a demonic sort of twist. People began collecting Terracite to use it to achieve greater powers of the mind. And while it does work, it's driven some mad. Few can truly channel its energies, but those that do master its powers go out and destroy these monsters.

These people become some of the greatest of hunters. Those that wish to save the colonies are known as such, venturing out to protect the people by slaying the outland monsters, destroy dens, and eliminate possible expansions of new dens where terracite can be found, luring more monsters and mutating others. All the while, hunters also traverse the dangers of labs to recover essential goods, technology, and artifacts to preserve themselves and the history slowly being swallowed up by the darkness of time.

Also noting, the world's past technologies are difficult to find, but are hidden underground in what are referred to as labs. These labs are sort of a deep core colony project to try and preserve human kind in the event of a planet altering disaster. But obviously, this project failed with the animal life suddenly turning violent within. Not only does it house the past technologies, weapons, and secrets of the disaster, but it's home to countless monstrosities that have evolved and grown overtime in the depths and shadows of the labs. The deeper one goes, the more chaotic and hostile things get.

And that's essentially the main idea of it all. From there, I'll open up more of the story to the players as they continue on.
