They have a writer (story), a penciler (initial sketch), inker (uses a pen to ink over the sketch), letterer (adds dialog) and a colorist (colors the inked sketch). Most Manga books are done by a single creator, who combines all those chores (except coloring) but maybe i'm just being anal about it. i dunno, i guess i was more on about, if somebody just made a thing, like you are, is there a certain element about it that make it a comic or manga? seems like it's just up to them

Alright, I will try to explain it the best way I can. Comics are usually done from left-to-right, have usually a more structured and realistic style, and have entire teams working on them usually than one person, and are usually in color and have a very specific age range. Manga on the other hand are done from right-to-left, have a very loose and cartoony style (Little known fact: the first manga style was made from a mix between old Japanese art and Disney cartoon styles.), Have one person doing the entire thing usually, are done in black and white with an occasional color page here and there, and a very broad age range... Alright, maybe that was bad too... Look, the only real big difference that seperates a comic from a manga is the style and how they are done. That's really all that's different between them. Outside of that, the typical manga and the typical graphic novel are one and the same.
