 Tim hung up the phone for a few seconds, then picked it up again.
"One call down, one to..." he began. Suddenly, he heard the THWUMP of Rifts opening from above.
"My gods..." he murmured to himself, "What the hell is going on here?"
"I'll go check it out," said Tails as he rushed down the hall. Arriving on the second floor, his jaw dropped as he encountered another two versions of himself.
On a side note that dimly registered in the back of his mind, the hallway was looking somewhat crowded.
"Wow..." he gasped.

 "Oh right, sorry, got caught up in the moment!" Tails replied, releasing his energy hold on Cy-Fox.
"Hey, is everything...Okaaay, I must've missed something here!" Melissa suddenly arrived on the scene, surprised at seeing even more versions of her boyfriend.
"My my, this is getting to be quite the gathering, isn't it?" A cool voice suddenly said from behind them. Vincent was leaning against a wall near them, smirking.
"Vincent?!" Tails and Melissa immediately drew their swords, aware of how dangerous he could be. "What're YOU doing here?" Vincent looked at them coolly before drawing a long black sword with a jagged, serragated edge on one side from a sheath in his coat, and threw it at their feet; a sign of surrender.
"Relax, I'm not here to fight you this time!" He told them. "I noticed this happening through my satellite imaging capabilities, and while you were getting acquainted with your alternates, I discovered an interesting piece of information I thought you might like to know about!"

 Tails cautiously approached the cyborg and gazed at the robotics.
"So, I'm half-machine in your universe then?" he asked Cy-Fox curiously.

"What do you mean, "someone's taken them all"?" Tim inquired, on the phone to the librarian, "You're joking! ...Every single book that has anything to do with the phenomena AT ALL?! That's insane! ...Well, yes, I want them too, but that's only in light of recent events... Alright, thanks anyway." He hung up the phone and scratched his nose.
"Only someone with a motive would do that..." he mumbled to himself, "perhaps someone looked into the matter so they could learn how to cause it... the energy, magical or otherwise to do it, it's ridiculous..." he shook his head, "Ye gods, I need a drink."

 "Er... okay?" Tails responded, "I suppose... that's good?" He looked around at all the other foxes, some of whom were looking considerably less confused than he himself was feeling.
"Okay!" Tim called out as he climbed up the stairs, "I've got good news and baaaaaaaaaaaaaaa-" his voice faded to a stop as he caught sight of the gathering. He hesitated for several awkward moments before finishing with a simple "Oh."
