Myself…I’ve never had any overall grades lower than a C. These are the techniques I would recommend for getting high grades:

1)Listen in class and take good notes. You’ll save time that evening when you need to use the same notes to do your homework or study for tests. I know from firsthand experience how important this is.

2)When you are doing homework involving math/formulas/etc., do not focus on just finishing your work. Try to learn what’s going on behind the problems. This will benefit you greatly come test time. If all you care about is getting done, you don't learn as much as you could, and you'll have to work harder getting ready for tests.

3)Start projects and homework as early as possible. This will relieve you of a lot of stress. You’ll be able to take your schoolwork at a relaxed pace, so you can think through it properly. You also won’t have incidents where you need to finish a massive project due tomorrow morning but…SURPRISE!...the same day you get a big homework assignment from another teacher. And that's due tomorrow as well, and there’s no way you can finish both things in the same night.

I don't see how anybody could sit around while knowing they've got projects to do... College was stressful enough when I was actually staying on top of things. I can't imagine what it's like when you fall behind, because I'm almost never there. And yet I'd see people letting it happen all the time.

4)Don’t cheat. Seriously. Even if you don’t get caught, there are lots of other consequences. You don’t really learn the material, for one thing. Which means if you’re doing this mid-semester you’ll have to cheat again or learn it anyway for the final. Also, you have to invest quite a bit of time and effort into cheating, if you don’t want to get caught. And by the time it’s all said and done, you’ve actually worked harder trying to cheat, versus studying the material. It’s just not worth the trouble.

Me, I tend to do OK in school. Unfortunately, I might be off for awhile because I'm sure I did pretty bad in the exams. I'm pretty sure I failed Chemistry, Some English, Geography, and maybe a History Booklet. But can you blame me? We just moved all the way across the country 3-4 weeks before the exams. To top it all off, it turns out some of my teachers from my old school forgot to add some of my papers so it's a big blank in many spots of the sign off sheet.

Oh well, I don't plan on using many of these subjects in the career I want to go into. Anyway, whats done is done and I can't change the past. I can only study harder next time.

I've always been good in all of my classes, mostly A's and B's here and there. The only one I can't grasp is Algebra. I usually get a C or D. No matter how hard I try, or study, or listen, or blah I don't do well. I just can't grasp the damn thing. <_<_>_>

My grades have really improved since we moved. Back in Pennsylvania I was failing English, and here in Tennesse i've got an A. Actually, i've got five As and two Bs.

Is it just me, or are those "tips" just completely obvious?
Oh, and I've never failed a subject. Yay me!

Not everyone can afford to pay their kids for their grades, but it is a technique that definately encourages the kids to go out and do their best, because they will get a reward. That method can work at almost any age. Give someone a responsibility, and show them they will get a reward for doing it, and most people will try to do much better than they usually would, because they want the reward.

My reward was always a Maccas dinner. xD

Eh... I wasn't very good in keeping grades up. I had to retake two courses plus the six I had to take in order to graduate. Manage to slip by with a a low GPA (I think 1.8 or 2.something) XD A lot of stuff was happening in those junior high and high school years.
