Flying Battery Act 1

this is a FanFic I've been wanting to make, I was just taking forever to get started on it, so here, I'll post all the links for it on DeviantART, AND here on the newest post, so here's the prologue http://zalmikku.deviantart.com/art/Dawn-s-Story-76266378 Prologue http://zalmikku.deviantart.com/art/Dawn-s-...pter-1-76390223 Chapter 1 http://zalmikku.deviantart.com/art/Dawn-s-...pter-2-76607769 Chapter 2 http://zalmikku.deviantart.com/art/Dawn-s-...pter-3-76964002 Chapter 3 http://zalmikku.deviantart.com/art/Dawn-s-...pter-4-80884389 Chapter 4 Dawn’s Story Prologue Our story beings following the trail of a blue blur, speeding up and down mountains, though wide open meadows, into deep rooted forests, moving with such great velocity that it seemed but of the wind. In reality, this swerving and swaying streak is a heroic soul of this world, known as… Sonic the Hedgehog. Sonic was following his usual runs, dashing here and there, without a care in the world. As his runs continue, he comes upon a great city known as Station Square, and thriving metropolis of hustle and bustle. As Sonic winds through the streets and alleys, we shift our attention to a young, homeless boy, not much younger than Sonic himself, sleeping on an unused trashcan in a dark alleyway. He was enjoying a peaceful night’s sleep until, *WOOSH* Sonic blasts down the alley creating a small, but great, sonic boom in his wake, blowing the boy off of his trashcan and spiraling to the ground. The boy snapped his head up, having fallen, face-first into a puddle of muck, and shouted at Sonic, “WATCH WHERE YOU’RE GOIN’ YA CREEP!” The boy picks himself up off the ground, and wipes the grime off of his face and chest, grumbling to himself, “Stupid Sonic, thinks he can just blast around the city, and mess up everything around him without fessing up for the problems he causes!?” the boy said, “Just because he’s a big hero and everyone loves him!? What a rip-off!” the boy continues to himself with a sigh. “Well, I suppose its about time I woke up anyways, time to get some breakfast” With a yawn the boy walks out of the alley, and across the street to a bright, but rickety looking bar. He enters with a doorbell marking his entry, and walks up to the counter where a pudgy older penguin was washing dishes in content of having some customers in the shop. “Hey Amp, how’s about some breakfast” the boy said to the penguin in a drowsy tone. The Penguin snapped his head away from the sink and turned around and checkled, “Hey Zal, finally awake I see?” |

Next chapter up Dawn’s Story Chapter 1 A Glance of the Heart The boy name Zal answered, “Yeah, sorry. I was having such a good night’s sleep, at least until that creep Sonic woke me up!” Amp simply rolled his eyes at this statement, and went to the stove to start cooking something. “What do ya want?” Amp asked. Zal groaned and then answered, “Just some eggs and a little bit of Sprite I guess.” before sitting his head on his hand and resting his elbow on the counter. “OH, and before you start ranting about how you hate being ignored and how much of a creep and a fake Sonic is, stow it, you’re starting to repeat yourself.” With this statement made, Zal’s mouth slacked open. Amp turned and smirked at Zal, as he brought him the eggs he asked for. “So what did he do this time?” Amp asked seeing how much he was annoying Zal. “He’s the one who woke me up, took it upon himself to blast down the alley.” he said as he attempted to brush more of the muck out of his fur. “Just blew me right of off the trash can I was sitting on and straight into a stinkin’ puddle.” “Well, you probably needed a flea bath anyways.” Amp chuckled. “I don’t have fleas!” Zal snapped, his face turning almost as red as his fur. “Oh ho, a little bit defensive now, aren’t we.” The laughing penguin retorted, as Zal’s face continued to redden. “I hope I don’t have to buy you a flea collar or something.” Amp continued with a triumphant smirk on his face. A vein started to bulge on Zal’s forehead. “I’m not a dog, I’m a jackal!!” Zal raised his voice in a very exasperated tone. “Well if you groomed or cut you fur a bit more often, it might not be so hard to tell.” Amp replied once again to Zal’s continuing cries, as he walked back to the refrigerator to grab a cold mug and the sprite Zal requested. “Oh yeah?” Zal answered to this remark with great distain, “Well I think you need to trim those forests you call eyebrows, but you don’t see me announcing it publicly!” Zal finished with a smirk. But this smirk was short-lived, as almost instantly, an ice cold mug smacked Zal square in the face and knocked him off of his seat and onto the rickety wooden floor. “And I think you should think before you try to out-insult a hardened Bartender in his own pub” Amp replied, roaring with laughter. Zal rose back up off the floor with his head bobbing around. “OOOOOOWWW” Zal whined as he placed one hand on his head and grab the chair next to him with the other to lift himself off of the ground. “Alright already, you win this round!” Zal pleaded with a very large sweat drop forming on his forehead. “Thought so, now get up here and eat.” “Lost again, eh kid?” one of the customers asked as he helped Zal up to his feet. “Yeah, don’t remind me.” Zal replied with a sigh as he got up and sat back down on his seat. “Jeez Amp, where do you get all these mugs?” Zal inquired, “You bust me with one whenever I get you back for getting on my fur, and half of them have cracked or broken, and yet you still have a big supply for your customers.” “The world is full of mysteries kid, and one is how Amp runs his this place by himself, HAHAHA” said the fox that helped Zal up, before walking back to his table and eating his own breakfast. Zal simply took his seat and began to eat his eggs and soda. ***** Having now finished his breakfast, Zal has quieted down and is just staring out the window of the bar into the bustling city streets. “Thinkin’ about the future again?” Amp asked, breaking the silence. “Yeah…” Zal replied. “I just feel like there’s more I could be doing, making a name for myself, you know?” “Yup.” Amp replied. “There’s got to be something I can do, I mean, look at Sonic and his friends, they’re big heroes. As much as I hate the guy, Sonic’s got it made, he knows what he wants to do in life, and weather he likes it or not, he has someone who loves him and lots of friends to be around, who always help him out when he needs it, and support him in the hardest of times.” Zal continued, “I hate to admit it, but I honestly envy the guy.” Finished Zal with heavy sigh as he sagged his head down and stared at the floor. “Don’t worry Zal.” Amp answered as he walked over to Zal and place his hand on Zal’s shoulder. “You’ve already got friends here, just as good as anyone of Sonic’s friends.” Amp reassured him. “And remember, there’s always someone out there for everyone, you just have to find them.” Amp finished with a friendly smile. Zal looked up at Amp and a smile crept onto his face, “You know what? You’re right; my chance to show the world what I’ve got will come one of these days.” Zal sat up, gave Amp a thumbs up and continued looking out the window for a few more minutes. As he continued his staring, something caught his eyes as it came into the window range of view. It was a young girl, as she walked in front of the bar Zal couldn’t help but watch her, as if in a trance. “Hey, Zal” Amp said as he noticed this, “When are you gonna stop starring at her whenever she passes by, and just get up and meet her, I know you like her.” Zal suddenly snapped back to his senses, “Uh wah?” “Go on kid, go meet her already, how do you expect to make something of yourself, if you can’t even introduce yourself to a girl you have a crush on?” “I d-don’t have a crush on her!” Zal said, his face once again reddening, “I just think she’s r-really cute.” He said in a quite tone as he looked away from Amp in embarrassment. “I don’t care, just get outta here and meet her before I slug yah again.” Amp answered before he grabbed Zal and shoved him out the door. Immediately as Zal was out he noticed the girl down the street, though very reluctantly, he decided to follow her. “Oh maaaaaan, I have no idea what to say to her, I don’t even know her name, oh my god Amp, what have you gotten me into now…” Zal continued onto himself becoming more and more worried about finally talking to the girl he’s had his eyes stuck on for a while now. As he was walking making sure he didn’t lose track of her, but still being confused about what he was going to do, he accidentally bumped into a mouse very expensive and very professional looking clothes. “*Oomph*, excuse me ma’am.” Zal answered, not fully aware of what he was doing. “Alright, I’ve gotta do this at some point, and it might as well be now.” He told himself. He picked up speed so that he would be able to catch up to her, when he suddenly heard an odd humming, Zal paid it no mind and continued to catch up to the girl. The humming grew louder and louder by the second, Zal finally found it too annoying to ignore and turned around when,*WOOOSH* something large and grey blasted past his, almost knocking him over. He turned back around to see what it was, when the sound of a high pitched scream broke the patterned sound of the city. Zal looked forward and the girl was nowhere to be seen, he looked around him to try and find her, but it was too hard to see with all the people beginning to panic. “It’s Eggman!” someone shouted, and Zal looked up in the sky to see the grey object was actually Eggman’s floating console. Immediately Zal noticed something, there was a round, metallic capsule with a clear glass opening attached to the bottom of it… the girl was trapped inside of it. |

please atleast click on the link so I can get the views on DeviantART, so that more people will notice it. please? Dawn’s Story Chapter 2 An Answer to the Fear “Oh no.” Zal said upon seeing that Eggman had trapped the girl. Immediately he sprinted after Eggman and his console, pushing through the thick crowd, trying as hard as he could to keep up. “Darn it! How am I supposed to keep up with something that’s ment to get away from something as fast as Sonic?” Zal thought to himself. Although just barely, Zal was keeping up with the console, as the crowd was starting to disperse, so he was able to get a more solid run, but still nothing compared to what Eggman’s machine was capable of. “That’s it, desperate times call or desperate measures!” Zal exclaimed. He continued sprinting, but as he sprinted, he began taking larger steps, and then leaps, before he began jumping rather than running. Zal was now moving in the form of many great leaps in succession. “Heh, now I should able to keep up with him.” Zal thought to himself. With that he landed one more time and took one great leap and the side of a building, landed upon its side as if it was the normal way of standing, and launched himself off again toward another building. He continued this pattern and had now caught up with the flying console, Eggman hadn’t noticed, he was too busy celebrating. “Oh ho ho ho, finally, one of my plans went off without a hitch!” Eggman exclaimed to himself. “And now my studies can begin, as so as I return to base.” But Zal was catching up to Eggman, and was waiting for the right time to strike, all the while, keeping himself in the same pattern of jumping from building side to building side, until.. “That’s it!” Zal thought and launched himself at a sharp angle towards the capsule attached to Eggman’s console. Closer and closer he came, the mere seconds the jump took felt like an eternity as he inched closer to the capsule. Once he was just a few feet from the capsule, he reached his hand out to grab the capsule, but right as he was making contact with the capsule, Eggman swerved the console to the side and his hand just missed the capsule, and he began to fall to the ground. As he fell to the ground he glimpsed into the capsule to see if the girl was okay. She wasn’t hurt, but she was in a state of extreme panic. She was continually banging against the capsule lid, crying and pleading for her life, as if a monster was inside the capsule with her. Zal saw the fear in her eyes as he fell down to the ground. Something snapped inside of Zal’s mind, he barred his fangs in anger. He landed on the street, crouching to the ground from the landing. “She’s so scared...” Zal said under his breath, “The fear in her eyes, no one should be that afraid of anything. Alright then, I’ll be the hope for her fear!” Zal exclaimed as he launched into the air again. “WHAT!” Eggman said as he heard Zal’s shout. “Where’d this kid come from!? No matter the only being that could even dream of keeping up with this machine of mine.” Just then Zal came rocketing towards the console. “WHAT THE!?” Eggman exclaimed in extreme surprise. Eggman made a sharp turn away from Zal, but as if he was psychic, Zal twisted his body in the direction Eggman had gone, bent his legs close to his torso and kicked with all of his might, creating a small vacuum that launched him towards Eggman. Before Eggman was able to turn again Zal had fully reached the console and jabbed his right hand straight through its exterior. “There, you won’t be losing me anytime soon old man!” Zal shouted to Eggman. “Why, you little-!” Eggman Exclaimed, his anger boiling. He tried to work the controls, but all he got was a great deal of static, Zal had fried the controls when he jabbed his hand into the console. Zal knocked on the capsule to get the girl’s attention. She noticed immediately. “Can you hear me in there?” Zal shouted to reach the girl. “Yes!” She replied in a very panic ridden tone. “Good, I need you to calm down and get a hold of whatever you possibly can, I’m going to get you out of here!” Zal told the girl in a loud but assuring voice. “Alright” She answered while backing up. “Okay, I’ve got to do this just right…” Zal thought to himself. He began t swing himself back and forth trying to make sure nothing was going to happen to the console. Back and forth he went, each time gaining more momentum until he swung himself almost completely inverted, and then came swinging down with the strongest kick he could muster and attacked the capsule, shattering it into pieces. With the capsule shattered, the girl fell out, Zal reached for her hand, but the console suddenly heaved and began to go haywire and Zal missed her hand. “NO!!!!!” Zal shouted, and he pulled his other hand out of the console and kicked off of it toward her as she fell. Just a mere 15 feet above the ground Zal caught her and jumped up to the top of the nearest building carrying her in his arms. As he landed, Zal couldn’t believe what he had just done. Zal let the girl down to her feet very gently, making sure she was alright. As soon as he let her down, she turned around and hugged him, catching Zal of guard. He stared down at her, crying into his chest, as much as he wished that she wasn’t doing that, he let her because he could tell, she was still very scared from being trapped in the capsule, so Zal didn’t stop her. As the embrace continued, with the girl crying into Zal’s chest, Zal looked down upon the girl, he had never seen her up close, let alone this close, or any girl for that matter. He inspected her features, in comparison to Zal she has a very small slender body, her long, wavy black hair, almost covered her white muzzle, which was still buried into Zal’s chest. She wore short white tights as shorts, with a dark green sash tied around her waist, wearing a top of the same green color with the left sleeve missing, and lastly hey saw her tail, long and fluffy, similar to that of a fox’s, but smaller. After a few moments, she calmed down and let go of Zal, seeing his face she backed away and blushed. “S-sorry” she said timidly. “Uh, it’s…okay.” Zal replied, “Are you alright?” he asked. “Yeah, I’m alright, just a little scared.” she answered while looking away from him. Zal could tell dwelling on the matter would be a bad idea, so he didn’t press on. “Um, could I ask your name?” “Sure, my name’s Zal.” Zal answered with a smile, “What’s your name?” “My name’s Dawn. It’s nice to meet you Zal.” “Likewise.” He replied. Dawn suddenly jumped. “OH NO, what time is it!?” She exclaimed. “I think its somewhere around 4:00PM, why?” “Lucal’s going to kill me.” She said to herself. At that she turned around, but stopped and looked around, Zal was confused as to what she was looking for. “Umm, could I get a lift off of this building, please?” She said as she turned and looked at him with a little bit of worry in her eyes. “Wha?” Zal looked around realizing that the building has no staircases or fire escapes for her to climb down. “Eh heh heh, yeah, right.” Zal answered, feeling extremely embarrassed. “Here.” He said as he walked over and picked her up again and jumped off the side of the building. While Zal was carrying Dawn, she looked up at him while he focused oh making sure, he didn’t drop her. As they were falling down, Dawn looked up at Zal’s face; she suddenly felt warm and blushed. They landed, and Zal let her down again. “Um, t-thank you.” She said with a shaky voice. She then ran off down the alley in a hurry. “Sorry, I’ve got to go!” she shouted at him. Zal simply had a sort of expressionless look on his face “AAAAHHHH, what the heck was I thinking!?” He shouted to himself, “What did I just do!? I’d better head back to Amp’s before anything else happens.” With this, Zal sprinted through the alleys, making his way back to Amp’s pub. |

here's the next chapter, and again, please atleast click the DeviantART link so I get the views if you do read it. thank you in advance. and this is a LONG one, just a heads up. Dawn’s Story Chapter 3 For Everyone to See Dawn rushed through the city checking every street sign she saw to make sure she was going the right way. “I’m in such big trouble.” She thought to herself, “Lucal wanted me home a long time ago, and now I’m lost.” She stopped; “Maybe I should’ve asked that guy, Zal, for help, but…” her heart beat faster, “Ooohh, what am I thinking, I’m sure he’s much older than I am, and I’ve got to get home quick.” She began running again. The sun was beginning to set, she looked up and the next street sign, “YES!” She exclaimed, “Union Avenue, I’m almost there.” She ran down the side walk as fast as she could. A mansion came into view, its bright and lustrous exterior shown beautifully in the twilight sky. “There it is!” Dawn thought to herself with great relief sweeping over her, “And the lights are off too, maybe Lucal left early.” She ran up to the front gate and peered in through the bars to see if it was clear. Everything looked good to her, so she walked back and crawled over the wall connected to the gate. After scaling the short wall, she walked slowly and quietly up to the front door, making sure she was as silent as possible. Dawn opened the main doors up just a crack to look inside for any sign of the one named Lucal. “Good, he’s not here.” She whispered as she tip toed into the main room, when the lights suddenly flipped on. “Good who’s not here?” a deep booming voice said, Dawn jumped in surprise and looked towards the voice. “Oh, hey Lucal…” she said in a very nervous voice with a large sweat drop forming on the side of her forehead, “I thought you were going-“ “Out? Yeah, but Sasha had to delay our date a little bit.” replied the rather large lynx. He was wearing a very fancy black suit; it made his muscular physique very apparent. “So, spill, you were supposed to be home a long time ago.” He told her raising his right eyebrow in question. “Sorry, I got a little side-tracked and lost track of time.” She replied. “Doing what exactly, you rarely lose track of time?” Lucal asked again, Dawn panicked a little bit. “Uh, there was an adorable little store I never noticed before, I decided to browse around.” She lied. “Really now? And what’s the store’s name? I might check it out sometime.” Lucal answered back, smirking a little, but trying not too. “I, uh, d-didn’t pay much attention to the sign, or what street it was on.” Dawn told him, he merely gave her an odd stare. “And why should I be convinced that you aren’t fibbing to me?” He asked, now smirking in a very profound manner. “Because you’re the nicest brother in the world.” She said, making the cutest puppy dog eyes she possibly could. Lucal just kept giving her the same penetrating stare for a few moments. “Alright, I’m reasonably convinced, I guess.” Lucal said “OK, I’m gonna go take a shower.” Dawn told him as she walked up the staircase to her left. All he did was stare at her as she walked up and moved out of sight. “I don’t know why she believes she has to lie to me, but as long at she’s okay, and it wasn’t anything serious, I’ll let it go this time.” He thought out loud as he went to sit down on the couch in the middle of the room. Dawn exhaled deeply, “That was close, who knows what Lucal would’ve done if he knew about what happened?” she said as she reached the top of the stairs. “I need to relax.” She walked down the hallways past 2 doors and stopped in front of a third one, grabbed the knob, and went inside. The room was a bright shade of purple, and filled with many shelves of CDs, DVDs and other types of music playing objects. Dawn walked across the room to a small bed with a sky patterned mattress and dark green pillows and sheets, and laid herself out on it. Her body sank in exhaustion as she reached over to the nightstand beside the bed to grab a rather large pair of headphones. AS she was adjusting the headphones on her head, she hears a roaring shout “Hey Dawn, I thought you said you were taking a shower!?” Lucal yelled. “Eep!” Dawn squeaked. “I knew I shouldn’t have said that.” She grumbled to herself. Dawn rolled off of her bed and walked over to her dresser and grabbed a pair of lime green pajama pants, and a long pink shirt, exited her room, and walked back down the hall to the door right next to her room. “I hate taking shower.” She said as she stepped through the door. “That ought to teach her to lie to me.” Lucal said with a chuckle, “I guess I’ll checkout the news while I wait for Sasha to call.” Lucal reached for the remote on the foot stool in front of him, and turned on the TV, flipping channels until he came to the news station on Channel 4. “There we go.” A young Mouse was in the middle of a news report when the channel came into focus. “This is Rita Wormtail.” The women said. “Huh, I wonder what happened this time?” Lucal asked. Rita Wormtail was a video reporter whom covered disasters or crimes, she has a great reputation for being able to get decent footage and coverage of many crimes and disasters. “Today, a kidnapping attempt was made by one, Dr. Eggman.” Lucal’s jumped in surprise, and adjusted his position to focus on the screen. “What his motives were yet to be known, as he is still in a state of interrogation. Dr. Eggman was apprehended by local hero, Sonic the hedgehog. Sonic had this to say when we asked him about what happened, the screen changed to a clip of Sonic. “I honestly don’t know what happened; Egghead’s machine was already screwed up and crashed by the time I got here. I was busy with my morning runs.” and the screen shifted back to Rita. “We on the other hand have footage of the event. Eggman had just made a seemingly un-opposed capture of the younger sister of resident millionaire, Lucal Safara,… Dawn Safara.” At this Lucal stood up from his seat, eyes bulging. “The reasons for which she was abducted are as of now unknown. But the young Miss Safara was rescued by a strapping young man whom I had personal *ahem* run in with prior to the kidnapping. It seemed as if he was actually following miss Safara, but we can’t be for sure, what we can be sure of is that she did take it too heart as the footage will show. Roll the clip please.” Then footage of the chase began to play, starting with a view of Zal looking around and then seeing Eggman’s console in the sky. The screen is then shakily moved into a car and is driven after the chase. As the events play by, Lucal sits and watches taking in every moment with as much attention as he could muster; now kneeling in front of the TV. It came to the point at which Zal had stopped in the street, Lucal was paying close attention to his actions, when he heard Zal’s shout. “Alright then, I’ll be the hope for her fear!” “He knows?” Lucal thought. He watched as Zal launched out of the camera’s view and towards Eggman, the camera had caught up with him as he was reaching Eggman’s console. Lucal watched in a mix of awe and anger as Zal made his way to free Dawn, and as Zal kicked the capsule open, Lucal watched as Dawn fell to the ground, but gave a heavy sigh of relief when Zal caught her. But the footage doesn’t stop there, as we watch, there might be a bit of budding in Miss Safara. And the camera finally came into a solid focus on the top of the building on which Zal and Dawn were standing, and was zooming in on Dawn hugging Zal. Lucal felt his stomach do a backflip, and then as the embrace ended with Dawn and Zal making greeting motions, and Zal carrying Dawn off of the building. Rita came back in. “The identity of this young hero is still unknown, But I’m sure the Safara family will be in his debt.” Lucal got up, eyes closed, and slammed his fist on his knee. “Why wouldn’t she just tell me!?” he thought to himself in a fit of rage. “This is bad, not only is it no longer safe for her to be by herself, if something like this were to happen again, and,” Lucal looked at the TV screen, “She’s now going to be a spectacle for everyone to see!” Dawn was just getting out of the shower and had dressed in her pajamas, wrapping a towel around her hair to help it dry off, and had just finished combing her Tail so it wasn’t wet and drooping. She walked out of the bathroom and decided to get something to eat, so she turned down the hall and took the staircase down. “Dawn…” Lucal Said to her when he noticed her walking down. “Yes Brother?” Dawn answered. “Why did you lie to me?” Dawn was shocked, she looked at Lucal. “Uh, what do you mean?” Dawn replied, trying to not sound nervous, but failing miserably. Lucal turned to the TV, bent down and pressed button. After a few moments he pressed another button and got out the way of the screen. Dawn saw herself hugging Zal, and blushed profusely. “B-but.” She stuttered. “No, I know everything Dawn, why didn’t you just tell me?” Lucal asked her in a serious tone. Dawn just looked down at the floor. “B-because I knew you’d react like this, getting angry.” Dawn answered. Lucal merely looked at her, when a ringing suddenly came from the next room, Dawn paid it no mind, but just stood there, Lucal walked towards it to answer, keeping his eyes on Dawn. Lucal walked into the kitchen and picked up the phone off the hook. “Hello?” Lucal answered, trying to calm himself. “Hello, Luke?” a soothing feminine voice answered. “OH, Sasha, hi.” Lucal replied, realizing it was her. “Sorry about having to delay our date on such short notice.” She said, have a very apologetic tone to her speech. “Its alright, um, listen, I have something of my own to take care of, but it won’t take long, so if its all the same to you, I’ll meet you at the restaurant, okay?” Lucal asked. “Sure, that’s alright with me, see you there, sweetie. *smooch*” She finished “Alright, see you there.” Lucal said before he hung the phone up. He then walked back into the room where Dawn was still standing, waiting for him. “Dawn…” he said, his voice as stern as ever. “You always get mad at me when I get into trouble, I didn’t want you to know, I was worried about how you’d react!” She loudly cut him off. Lucal’s hard expression softened. “Dawn, I’m not mad, I’m concerned about your safety, I made a promise to Mom and Dad…” At this, Dawn flinched while beginning to sniffle and her eyes began to water. Lucal took notice and walked up too Dawn. “I’m sorry Dawn, I know you don’t like thinking about them, but I have to say this, I made a promise to Mom and Dad that I’d keep you safe, and I’m going to keep that promise. By no means am I angry at you, alright, I just want you to be safe, that’s why I’m so strict with you.” He told her in a sympathetic tone. He knelt down on one knee, but his hand under her chin as she continued to try and repress her urge to cry. “Please cheer up, I just want you to be safe and trust me, and I can’t do that if you lie to me about serious things like this, now I have to leave, so can I at least have a goodbye hug?” He asked. Dawn looked up at him, her eyes watering heavily, and embraced him with a strong hug, and pushed her head against his shoulder. “There, that better?” he said in the same sympathetic tone. Dawn raised her head from his shoulder and nodded. “Glad to hear it, now that was Sasha, so I have to leave, you know the rules?” he stated. “Don’t break anything, put everything back were it was, and stay away from the milk.” They said together in unison and laughed together. “OK, take care of yourself.” He told her. “Alright.” She replied, her voice still a little shaky. Lucal got back to his feet and walked through the main door, out to his very stylish, black and yellow Mustang. Dawn watched out the window as he left and waved as he pulled out of the lot, he saw her and waved back before turning off the lights inside the car and driving off. Dawn walked back up to her room once Lucal’s Car was totally out of sight. She opened up the door and went back to lie down on her bed. As she became comfortable, she looked at the bed’s headstand, crawled towards it and spread the two pillows apart to reveal a framed picture standing behind them. The picture had four people in it, a slender, beautiful lynx in a loose pair of slacks and a long sleeved T-shirt, her eyes were a deep blue with slit pupils running through them, giving her a menacing, yet at the same time, serene look about her. A tall, muscular Wolf, standing beside with his arms around her shoulders, he was wearing a heavy looking black vest, and dark blue jeans, she was smiling with his sharp fangs showing proudly, but the focus of his picture was the scar over his right eye, reaching down his cheek. Between them stood a young boy, wearing a cute, little, dark blue suit, hugging the lynx’s leg and smiling widely up at her. And lastly, in the arms of the women, wrapped in a cloth, staring blankly up at the wolf and reaching for his face aimlessly trying to reach it in sheer intrigue, was a small little black cat. Dawn reached out to grab the picture, sat up on her knees as she grabbed it. Stared deeply into the picture, and pressed it to her chest. “Mommy… Daddy…” She said, her eyes once again watering, but this time, she didn’t try to hold it back. As she began to cry loudly, she laid down on her back with the picture still held tightly too her chest, and drifted off too sleep. |

at long last, the next chapter is finished, sorry it took so long to anyone who does read it, just had some personal stuff getting in the way, this one isn'y asd long as the last, and I might've rushed through it a bit, due to having very little personal or viewed experience of the things that happen in the chapter, and as usual, please check the deviantART link on post #1 if you do read, so I can get views and get even more people to read it, thank you in advance Dawn’s Story Chapter 4 A father’s Work The sun had now set on Station Square. Most house and building lights had gone out, and the street lights were coming on. “Man, the city sure is beautiful at night.” Lucal said in a soothed tone as he drove through the city. “Lets see, Sasha said that the restaurant was somewhere around Twinkle Park.” Lucal looked around to see the very large amusement park around the corner. “OK there’s Twinkle Park, now where’s…” He cut off as something came into view around the park. “AH, there it is, La Blue Lagoon.” He said with relief as he drove his car up to the restaurant with its neon decorations shining in the night sky. The restaurant was littered with neon lights in the shape of palm trees, hearts, and diamonds. The chauffeurs were waiting on their customer’s vehicles as it is their job. Lucal drove up in the line of cars when he noticed someone walking towards him. It was a slender leopard in a black gown. “Hey Luke.” she called to him. “Hey Sasha.” He replied. He parked his car and stepped out while tossing the chauffeur the keys. He looked over Sasha before walking up to her, taking in her beauty. She was wearing pink make-up on her eyelids and short high-heels. “You look beautiful.” He told her. “Thank you, lets go in shall we?” she said. “Alright.” Lucal replied as she grabbed his arm and pulled him in. “Wow!” Lucal said with a whistle as they stepped inside, “I’ve never been in a restaurant like this before.” “You’re kidding!? A big millionaire like you, has never been in a fancy restaurant before?” Sasha said in astonishment. “Well, no, usually Dawn and I cook our meals ourselves.” Lucal replied. “Wow, I didn’t know you two cooked.” She answered. “Well, mostly it’s Dawn, she actually barely lets me cook anything, but she enjoys doing it, so it’s fine by me.” Before Sasha could reply, a peacock in a waiter outfit consisting of a crisp blue shirt, and a black skirt, and a name-tag clipped just below her left shoulder, walked up to them. “Hi, welcome to La Blue Lagoon, I’ll be serving you tonight.” She said with a perky smile. “Just give me a moment to escort you to your seat.” She motioned them along behind her, twisting through the many tables and booths, until she brought them to an unoccupied booth. “Here, I’ll be back to take your orders when you’re ready.” She told them before walking off. “Good service huh.” Sasha said to Lucal. “Yeah… right.” Lucal answered in a sort of dazed tone. Sasha looked at him upon hearing his tone. She stared into his yellow eyes, seeing that he wasn’t focused on what was happening at hand. Sasha reached over and touched her hand to his. “…Luke?” She said. Lucal snapped back into focus. “Huh…what?” “Is something wrong?” Sasha asked. “Please, you can tell me.” Sasha finished with a smile. Lucal gave a hesitant look at first, but then smiled. “Alright,” He began, “it has to do with D-” Just then the waitress came back up to their table. “Hi, are you ready t-” Before she could finish, Sasha was glaring at her menacingly. “… I’ll just leave you two alone.” This time finishing her statement in a rather high-pitched voice before scurrying out of the sight of Sasha. “OK, now that we shouldn’t have any distractions, please continue.” She said as she turned back to Lucal. “Well, as I was saying; it has to do with Dawn. She got into a bit of trouble today.” He told Sasha. “What kind of trouble?” Sasha asked. Lucal then proceeded to explain to Sasha everything he had seen before he came to meet her. Sasha simply stared at him, wide-eyed. “Oh my god, is Dawn alright!?” “Yeah, she’s alright, but I’m really worried, she was lucky that guy was there to save her, even if I’m not too fond of the result.” Lucal finished with a scowl. “Result? What do you mean by ‘result’?” Sasha asked, perplexed. “Well… you know Dawn gets sometimes. With her Closter phobia and how easily scared she is, she freaked out… and after the guy saved her she kind of… well hugged him like she tends to when she gets scared, and… they got it on camera.” “Aaawww, that’s so cute!” Sasha exclaimed. “Sasha, this is serious. Dawn’s twelve years old, and I don’t even know how old that guy was, or who he is for that matter, and now she been made into a spectacle, and apart from that, what if something like this happens again and there’s no one around to save her. She wouldn’t even tell me all this happened. So now I have to worry about this on two fronts, whether this could happen and I wasn’t around to protect her, and that she won’t tell me about anything. I don’t know what to do, I honestly don’t know where to go from here, I’m not my father, he would’ve known what too do.” “…Luke, you’ve done a fine job taking care of Dawn, she’s just at a time where certain things are a little more personal. I doubt anything like this will happen again.” Sasha assured him. “How can you be so sure?” “Well, if you’re so worried about her safety, why don’t you hire a bodyguard for her?” Sasha suggested. “Bodyguard?” “Yeah, get someone who’s tough and trustworthy, and doesn’t have a lot to do. That way, she’s always got some protection, and you can keep a watchful eye on her without messing with your working and personal life.” “Hmmm, when you put it that way, it sounds like a good idea. But who could I hire?” Lucal asked. “Well, why not ask Sonic the Hedgehog, everyone knows he’s about as tough as they come, plus he has lots of experience with fighting bad guys like Dr. Eggman.” Answered Sasha. “I doubt it; Sonic would never sit around and watch Dawn, no matter how much I paid him, way too free spirited for something like that.” Sasha looked stumped for a minute before suggesting something else. “…How about that guy who you said sav-” “No, I refuse to have that guy near Dawn when I don’t even know anything about him!” Lucal interjected. Sasha gave him a nasty look. “Let me finish! He saved her, right? Well, why not try getting to know about him, then, if he’s alright and everything, then try hiring him.” Sasha told him, still baring a pouty look. Lucal looked at her for a moment before contemplating the idea. “Hmm, I suppose it’s worth a shot. It’s the only option I have right now.” Lucal thought out loud. “Good, now that that’s settled, how about we get back to the matter at hand? Excuse me, waiter!” She called out to the peacock from before. After a few moments, the waitress cautiously came back up to Sasha and Lucal’s table. “I think we’re ready to order now.” Sasha told the waitress with a friendly smile, the waitress attempted to return the sentiment. “Uh, yes ma’am.” She replied. From that point on, Lucal and Sasha enjoyed the rest of their evening together, after finishing their meals; Lucal took Sasha to Twinkle Park for a few hours of games and spending a romantic time together. Sasha ended up getting scared on a roller coaster and huddling very close to Lucal in their cart, inevitably angering and disgusting the children sharing the cart with them. Lucal found this rather embarrassing and thus declined Sasha’s request to ride the coaster again. At this point, it was very late at night, and very dark. “Hey Sasha, you’re welcome to stay at my place tonight if you like.” Lucal told her as they exited the park. “Sure Luke, I’d love too.” She answered, looking into his eyes and blushing. With that, they walked back to Lucal’s car and drove back past Twinkle Park to the Safara Mansion. Once they arrived back at the mansion and were fully settled down inside Lucal took the staircase up too the hallway that Dawn’s bedroom was, Sasha followed him. Lucal opened very silently and cautiously. He peered inside and saw that Dawn was passed out on her bed. “Figures as much.” Lucal whispered with a small smirk across his face as he walked over to Dawn. He noticed that she was holding something under her as she slept. Lucal peered down at eye level with her to see what it was. “Hmm, what’s this here?” Lucal questioned to himself as he lightly lifted Dawn up to pull out what she was holding. “Wait… it can’t be!” He said in astonishment. “Hey Sasha, look at this, it a picture from shortly after Dawn was born, I had no idea she had this. I knew she missed them, but…” “Come on Luke, lets leave her be.” Sasha told him with a sympathetic glance towards Dawn. Lucal looked down at Dawn and smiled. “Yeah, good idea.” Lucal answered as he placed the picture down next too Dawn and followed Sasha back down to the main hall. “I suppose this idea of your’s with hiring that guy might be more useful than I thought. Dawn seems to be a little depressed, maybe a good friend might help; now I’m actually sort of hoping the guy’s legit.” “I knew you’d see it my way eventually.” Sasha replied with a smirk. “I’m still a little uncertain though, but it appears that what Dawn needs most at this point is a friend, not a brother.” Lucal told her with a bit of a frown as he walked over to the couch in front of the television and laid down, very exhausted from the late hour. Sasha walked over with him and laid down next to him. “Don’t worry, I’m sure it will turn out fine.” Sasha told him and she cuddled close to him. “Lets just leave this matter for later.” “Alright.” Lucal answered. Lucal held Sasha close and they drifted off to sleep together. |
