Why is the majority of people against it? Because they always assume that "kids" are stupid and don't know jack about parenting. My philosophy on this is that it doesn't matter what age you are, as long as you can take care of them and support them. You can be 11 for all I care and have a kid. Again, as long as you can care for them and provide them with all the needed stuff. I honestly don't understand why people are so opposed to it. They should look at all the adult parents that are, if more, incompetent. |

Err... Because a 11 year old is still a kid, and if he and she have a kid they won't know what to do with it? If you see most teens that get pregnant they go running to their mom and dad for help (and money) because they are clueless, usually living with them. I mean most teens just don't need to have kids. especially at 11 dude. Alot of teens that get pregnant just have a abortion or give the kid up for adoption, which really sucks for the kid because most likely he won't know his true father/mother. |

Um, dude. 95% of the time they DON'T know how to raise them and they rely on their parents. Also having a kid that early you potentionally throw away your future. Also you won't have time or the money to attend college cause you'd be busy raising the kid. EDIT: and when kids have babies at a young age I don't think the first thought is, "I want to raise a family." They usually just like to hooch it off. :/ |

its only IN the case that they don't know how to take care of their kid, which IS most commonly the case nowadays. there's a girl in my math class who's older than I am, and she has a several year old kid, and she has no idea how to act, let alone how to take care of a kid. |

All that and because they don't really want kids, you know, they did it for the other side of it, which is kinda quite obvious. I at least want to wait till I'm 18, AT LEAST, to get anywhere near that step with Katy. AT LEAST. Besides, they need to learn, cuz kids at that age know really nothing of the world outside, and playing video games isn't going to get food on the table unless you're a beta tester, and those kids never are. |

Because they can't take care of themselves let alone a kid. Back in the day people got married and had kids at 14. It was common, but not today. |

Yes, that's exactly why the sweet sixteen party's like the most important out of your life, it used to be the time you got independent, got married, had kids, etc... But yes, Katy and I have already started to look at our future, deciding what yes and what not, we want to have three kids, BUT, not till we're married, which will be like in seven years, and have kids one whole year after cuz we want to learn, go to college, get a good paying career, etc., and mostly, cuz we both know we won't be ready until then. |

No, because these parties used to be held back before cars, they just say that now cuz there are cars around, and you're no longer independent at that age. It's true. EDIT: LOL @ JBH!  Dude, that was funny, but so true at the sme time...so I'm guessing you want to get married just no one your age is responsable enough, right?
