I'm engaaaged~
:D

All right, Iīve bought Game Maker 7 Pro, and Iīm trying to make a Sonic game. But Iīm having a big problem... I just figured out how to make the sprite move, jump, and go to the next room, however, thatīs not exactly what I want. I donīt want a new room to start every time I reach the corner of the scrreen, but I just want the sprite to go straight forward... like with every Sonic game. Does anybody else here use Game Maker? And can anybody help me...? (And sorry if itīs in the wrong section, I didnīt know where to post this) |

I used to have 6.5 Pro and I had some pretty good Sonic engines with Grinding, loops, slopes, powerups, etc, but not anymore and it has been years since I used it. Hope someone can help you. |

Erm... how is 6.5 better? I have this exact same problem, except i didn't get pro... i got the free version. Does 6.5 have the problem that i absolutely despise in which my sprites interact with other objects as if they were rectangles :o SONIC IS NOT A SQUARE! *shot for pun* |

I've used it. But i need a new graphics card to use it properly. Rage. I was just about to make a Sonic game. Ah well. I could of told you had it not messed up. I know you basically need to have a huge level made. then have a box which what the sceen size will be. But i'm not sure how to that since game maker stopped for me before that. |
I just want to save you while there's still something left to save | |

So I've only used Game Maker once in my life, but I think you're supposed to make the room longer. :/ |

Making the room longer doesnīt help at all. =/ In fact, you can only use a certain size or else the room will be bigger then the screen. I want Sonic (or Shadow) to just move on, and only the part where they are to be shown in that little window. I think you need certain scripts for that. I just donīt know where to look for turorials... |

Find a good search site. Then type in Game Maker 7 and post tutorials right after that. Try this one out. I am not fond to any good website. But they seem to have some small tutorials. Maybe that can help you out. :o |

These tutorials were very helpful in the beginning, but not anymore. The stuff Iīm trying to make is more complicated than the Platformer-tutorial on that site. But thanks anyway!

Is the whole level going to be in one huge gigantic room? Because you can make it so that the room pans when the sprite reaches the corner of the sceen, so you won't have to make a whole bunch of rooms for one level. I don't remember what that option is called, since I got rid of my Game Maker a long time ago. |
