According to some article I read the original Nintendo launched at over $400 in todays money and there have been others that launched higher. PS3 is expensive, but I don't think you can find a computer that can do all of that stuff with a state of the art graphics chip for $600. 60GB Ipods are $400 and you can only play music and movies on it. People are buying Blu Ray players at $1000 dollars alone! The new Nvidia graphics chip is more than the PS3 costs and it is only a graphics chip!

That's mainly what you'll be doing, but most systems coming out have other features from gaming. Actually Sony's calling the PS3 a computer, not a gaming console. :/ But this is a poll whether you think it's worth the price. I think it is, because other computers with all of that stuff in it would be over $2000 dollars.

If gaming is what I'll mainly be doing, what use do i have for all the rest of the stuff? It may be worth the price as a computer, but then, why am i buying a gaming system to use it as a computer? If i'm using it as a computer, i wouldn't need that huge graphics card.

Most people nowadays would prefer a portable thing to listen to music with then sit in their basement.

But, if i'm looking for that BLu Ray thing (which i don't really know what it is... o.o;;) i would certainly buy this for $400 dollars cheaper. The rest of the stuff would be a nice bonus.

SO, if you needed all that stuff, it's the perfect thing to buy for that price, i guess.

I'm not bashing the PS3, but it's just not for me.

Because computers you have to upgrade which costs alot of money if you always want the best. The best thing about consoles is after 5 years you can pop in a new game and have it play great on the highest settings.

Gamecube was only a gaming machine. No extra add ons, and the only console without extras this gen will be the Wii, which is why I see it doing so well, because it's cheap. That's another story though.

I really don't know. I feel that I'll have to wait to see if SONY can live up to its name. I'm leaning more to the "no" side on this situation but only time will tell...
To Anyone Who Cares:

I'm leaving. For good this time. I thought I missed this place but no one talks to me and I feel like I'm not wanted so yeah... I really did love it here since everything went down here. But... Oh well. Guess I'll just stick to my crappy life where rumors are started about me saying I like to give blow-jobs to people and that I take intense drugs. Fun.

I love anyone who loves me. =]

....Which probably isn't anyone. [/Cut.]

Well, gaming PCs cost about $6K nowadays because of how hard it is making good parts. The technology inside a computer like the memory, the processor, the video card, sound system, monitors, motherboards, and other crap are really f**king hard to make.

It is worth it to make it expensive, especially when making a good video card.

Yes, but this isn't a gaming PC, it's a gaming SYSTEM.

If you want good graphics for gaming, get a 360.

But the 360 is like a computer too only it does less stuff and is still expensive.

And besides it is worth the price anyways because do you realize how hard it is to make gaming video cards? They should make it expensive.

I will have to wait( not that I'm getting it for like a year or two) & for the 360, the graphics have this weird quality about them, its like they're too perfect. & Bluray is a revolutionary DVD player that uses blue lasers instead of red, increasing quality & the amount of data you can put on a DVD by an expodential amount.
Sig under construction! ^^;[casino]550,1,0,bank=No,0[/casino]

I wouldnt give a penny for tha PS3. Screw all that "bonus" stuff its got. I dont care at all. From what Ive heard about tha PS3, it sux. Sure PS1 and 2 were awesome, but PS3 wont even come close in this generations lineup. Ive heard that tha PS3 is also tryin to take a few ideas developed by Nintendo and use it for themselves. The game selection will most likely be either the same exact games you can get on tha Wii or tha 360, or they will be very poor PS only games. Making it more of a computer instead of a game system basically is sayin its not even for videogames. It would be smarter for it to compete with like a Mac or PC or whtever. Plus as we know the further videogames try to go with extra features the faultier the system gets. Take the Xbox and all that for example. Great extra features... and was a large fire hazord for a while.

Pacfan has left the building. There will be no return from me either.
(Dubbmatic is my come and go account, as for this one, I want it to remain inactive, it symbolizes my solidified stay at Sonic Blast. To use it now puts it to shame)

*UPDATE: I have returned my name back to it's original form that most of you had come to know me by. It seemed more fitting.*

Good bye to any and all!

They didn't use ideas from Nintendo. They've had the tilt controller in developement since 1999 and along long time ago on PS1 they had a tilt controller by a third party. It's nothing new. How is the game selection not good? It practically has every game coming out for 360, the only difference is it has different exclusives.
